No description of what they are going to do but I see no reason why they can't just have everybody pull their chassis out and just send them in.

What need for the whole gun if the issue is trigger related?

I guess unless the slide itself is part of the fix?

Do we know if the problem is limited to the parts in the chassis?

The slide needs a cut for the new disconnector.

They are also installing a lighter sear and striker, if I remember correctly.

OK.

Thanks guys.

Well, we shall see how long this whole process takes.

The site said we will receive an email with instructions "at a later date" and then the actual turnaround would be IIRC 6-8 weeks. {or was it 4-6 weeks?}

What a mess. At least they are working on it.

I will be waiting 'til the mad rush dies down. In the meantime I will enjoy shooting my 320.

I installed the APEX enhanced trigger in my 320. It was difficult and do not want to try to remove it before I send my gun in. I don't want to take a chance on damaging the trigger spring. Do you think that the Sig smith will send back my APEX trigger with the returned gun after the upgrade?

Unsurprising. That's part of why some of us earlier wrote we'd "wait for the smoke to clear."

Doesn't make sense. Spent 40 years in IT.

If they had problems being inundated, they would have just blocked access to the Registration process. The entire page is gone and the reference to it on the index page below no longer lists that page. I have no theory, just baffled. We'll see if it was an IT screwup...or what. I'm not wasting my time trying to decode the "or what" at this point in time.

When you go to the Sig site "The latest SIG SAUER news and announcements" page (Index of ALL news announcements) the most recent news item is dated 8/8/2017. NO reference to today's news item.

Great video.

" . . . so in this video we drop test, at many angles, a Glock 17 Gen 2, Glock 17 Gen 3 modified by Zev, Glock 22 Gen 4, Glock 43, Heckler & Koch VP9, HK VP9SK, Polymer80 PF940C Glock kit with all stock Glock parts, Smith & Wesson M&P9 M2.0, S&W M&P 45, and a Springfield TRP Operator 1911.

None of these firearms caused a primed case to discharge. "

Well we know nothing ever goes wrong with IT stuff, just ask any IT person, it's always an OE problem Big Grin

So there could be many reasons and don't read anything into it, nor presume that there's some kind of nefarious action on the part of Sig.

Yes some people get upset easily, or need have to have a villain to blame,

Just talked to Sig and the site for the P320 upgrade will be back up in a couple of hours. It was posted before all the information
was available so they took it down until it is complete.

Will someone kindly call Sig and ask them to reboot their servers?

Thanks.

So much speculation going on.

I would be astounded if SIG returns any aftermarket parts - with the possible exception of sights.

The short-lived FAQ posted by Sig advised not to send after market parts or extras, as they could not guarantee the return of those parts.

Translation: You don't get 'em back. (Which is pretty much standard across the board in the firearms would.)

That's not exactly breaking news. Per my earlier post:

** The release clearly states "IF YOU SEND YOUR FIREARM IN WITH AFTERMARKET ACCESSORIES, SIG SAUER CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT THOSE ITEMS WILL BE RETURNED TO YOU." You can't take the chance. Remove everything that's not Sig. **

Someone posted on FB that they called Sig and said he doesn't have the factory trigger anymore. Sig said to remove his current trigger and send it in without any trigger at all. Just one source. But it would make sense as I'm sure they are just going to trash the factory triggers anyways.

Sounds like they've gone off half-cocked. Smile Sorry, couldn't resist the bad pun opportunity. Thank you folks, I'll be here all week. Try the veal.

Thanks. It was in plain English and needed no translation, but a valiant effort, anyway.

Um . . . not news, but rather my own personal opinion. I have ZERO knowledge of what SIG will actually do, nor do I have a dog in this fight. I sold all of my P320's as soon as the shit storm hit the horizon.
