Down the Rabbit Hole![]() |
All 149 people that liked the G49 bought one. The shorter grip of the G49 does help with concealment. No doubt about it when compared to the full size G17 length. While it might conceal a little better, the longer slide means more holster/slide/weight inside your pants. A lot of folks just don't find this comfortable or needed. Even if you are upset about the discontinuance of the G49, you can make one with the swap of the slide/frame of the G19/47. At the end of the day you wind up with a defacto G49/45. Also, not a bad setup.

Just saw on Instagram that the Glock Store reported that Glock is discontinuing A Cut/COA sales to the civilian market. Apparently, according to their post, they are needed to for fill military sales. ________________ People hate you. Train like it.

That’s gotta be for the “secret squirrel” folks as I can’t imagine them rolling it out large scale with an optic and A-Cut seems like it doesn’t have a cover plate/irons only option. (Unless I am wrong) Take Care, Shoot Safe, Chris

I think its probably to fill multiple LE contracts and not military. ________________ People hate you. Train like it.

That makes a ton more sense. This does bring up a question does anybody make an a cut cover plate/iron sight setup? I realize optics are the way forward and these are pretty specifically designed setup but there could still be occasion where for whatever reason one might want/need to run irons only. For real?![]() |
Was just at local blue label dealer buying a new gen5 19 MOS and asked about the COA guns. The owner told me Glock cancelled all his pending COA orders. Individual officer orders and full agency orders. Not backordered. Just outright canceled. Glock is trying to fulfil some federal contract. So I guess I won't be ordering some to try. But I finally have a Glock 19 back in the house. My mom borrowed my gen2 19 a bazillion years ago and hasn't returned it. My daughter moved out with her gen4 19 that I loaned her. And my other gen4 19, my son took that when he moved out so I was feeling a little 19-less. No more! LOL Not minority enough!

MOS... My other SIG? COA... Certificate of Authenticity? I've been out of the business for 22 years. Back then there were just Glocks with a number. No clue what all this alphabetical stuff is. ----- Support the entire Constitution, not just the parts you like. Common sense isn't "right wing" unless you are too far to the left.

MOS = Glock speak for Modular Optic System. It's also one of the worst systems of it's type out there and is recommended to buy aftermarket plates if you don't want your optic to fly off your Glock and hit you in the face. COA =

For real?![]() |
MOS = Modular Optic System It's Glock's optic mounting setup. There's also different ones direct cut for optics like MOS-3, MOS-5 (which is what my duty gun is). COA = Aimpoint's new little enclosed optic that they released in conjuction with several Glock guns. It's exclusive to Glock right now. Not sure when it'll be for everyone else. Darn you guys. I went into the fun store to see if any more Mountain Guns were in. Nope. They did have a G19 COA though. It’s nice. I brought it home. I have shot the Aimpoint Acro P2 a bunch (on my PDP) and love that optic. This one seems like a slimmed down P2 with a different but very low and very sturdy seeming optics cut. On just initial handling and presentation I really like it. First Glock ever that I won’t change the irons. LolThis message has been edited. Last edited by: pedropcola,

Smudge, are those factory mags in the pic? Or something you added aftermarket? If aftermarket, which ones? I like the look. _________________________ "Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. How do you like the controls on the COA compared to the Acro P2? One of the things I dislike about my Acro P2 is the brightness setting buttons. The COA controls are similar to the P2 in function, just a simple + or - button to adjust brightness, hold - to turn it off, either button to turn it on. The physical buttons themselves seems slightly more tactile than the buttons on the P2. After carrying a Glock with the acro P2 for several years, I’m really enjoying the COA.

That is a plus in my book. I remember reading where you need to push one of the buttons twice before you can adjust the brightness. This is a good feature, IMO. I also like the brightness stepdown feature. Seems like a nice optic. True, if there are no button pushes for three seconds, then the buttons have a “soft lock out”. The first button press unlocks the buttons, the next button press adjusts brightness up or down.

Yep, factory Gen 5 mags, and Strike Industries extended baseplates. +5 to 22rds. I got them for USPSA. One range trip with them so far, and they’re working well, but I'm yet to really beat on them. I read good things about them. These are the polymer version, but there’s also aluminum ones as well. I have a few of the factory +2 baseplates, but after having two different failures with them now, I don’t trust the factory extensions and won’t use them. Had one get dropped on a wood floor one morning, fully loaded. The magazine basically exploded, rounds and pieces flying everywhere. Never did find the little insert from that one, so it's just been in the parts bin. The other one, I had the baseplate dislodge and start to unseat itself after getting dropped empty in the sand at a pistol match on a reload. I've heard of others having similar problems. I won't trust a magazine I can't drop and wonder if it'll fall apart. These baseplates have a locking tab that hooks onto the rear bottom lip of the magazine body and installs with a set screw. ______________________________________________ "If the truth shall kill them, let them die.” Endeavoring to master the subtle art of the grapefruit spoon.

I didn’t notice the “soft” button feature but I just checked and that is absolutely true. The buttons feel more distinct/tactile compared to my P2. Obviously the biggest difference is the window is the same size but all the outer dimensions are smaller. I placed a G48 over it and I am impressed that a full sized optic will fit just fine without overhanging on the slim lines. A G48 COA will definitely be on my radar now. Very clear glass, much better than my RMR’s. This seems a winner, albeit an expensive one.
