No, that's us. Pre 1991, revolvers (Semi auto approved as back up weapons) 1991 semi autos approved, SA/DA 1992~93 we went to DAO only. 2005-ish Striker Fired approved, so we finally were able to carry Glocks (And Springfield / S&W Striker fired). Now it's striker fired only, and as of a few months ago Sig 320's were on that list. ______________________________________________________________________ "When its time to shoot, shoot. Hmmm? Glock 45 COA? It sounds like I may be interested in adding it to my Glock 19 Gen 4. It looks pretty nice!

The nice GSSF lady emailed me today. She was putting a GSSF coupon in today's mail. So I will buy a Glock, before the end of the month probably. Something 9mm not single stack. Maybe a 34 if one can be found. But looking for input on what to look for. Maybe the one that's a 19 slide on a 17 frame, whichever model that is? ----- Support the entire Constitution, not just the parts you like. Glock 45. I'll be honest, of all the various combinations of slide length and frame size, that's the one I like the best and keep coming back to. Plenty to hang onto, and it comes out of recoil and back onto the target very quickly. ______________________________________________ "If the truth shall kill them, let them die.” Endeavoring to master the subtle art of the grapefruit spoon.

I looked at the opposite [49?] earlier this week. I thought it's what I'd want as ive long wanted to get a FS slide for my P320C. In hand, at the counter, it didn't do as much for me as the 19 & 48, for IWB carry options. The Enemy's gate is down.

Brought home my G19 COA today. Zeroed absolutely not. The dot was not even in the window. I thought I got a bum optic but started fooling with the adjustments and got the dot brought down and lined up with the sights. Going to shoot it tomorrow morning so I was loading a bunch of mags. Those whipper snappers gave me 2 15 round mags and a 10 round mag. Ohh well. Ordered another 15 rounder. Going to put it through its paces tomorrow with OEM, Magpul, and MecGar mags tomorrow. 115gr, 124gr, 147gr to boot. I’ve been carrying a naked 17 for years now. The G19 COA and Streamlight TLR1-HL is going to be a nice change I foresee. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. If we got each other, and that's all we have. I concur. I've owned 15 Glocks over the years, and the G45 is my favorite, closely followed by my Gen 2 offerings. I like a full-sized grip with no finger grooves. I think my next Glock will be to replace the G43X I sold upon buying the P365XL, which I also sold.

Missed this before. Good deal! I hope they work out for you. I shot a match yesterday with the three I installed and they worked flawlessly and each got dropped in the dust at least a few times, no issues. I'm ordering three more now to round out my compliment of games magazines.
You and I both came to Glocks I think around the same time, maybe a decade ago, both with Gen 1 & 2 guns, and I've owned pretty close to that many as well. I'll probably never part with my Gen 2 19, even though it never comes out of the safe anymore. Occasionally I have the thought that I should pick up a Gen 2 17 just because they're so damned iconic, and eventually the supply of cheap ones in decent shape will dry up. Not like I need it, but hey, it would be cool to have nice example of every generation of Glock 17. Anyway, we've kind of settled on the same thing: full grip frame with no finger grooves, and additionally for me, no half moon cutout on the front strap.
Yeah, a G48 or G43x is on the hit list for me before next spring when it starts heating up again. I kind of stopped caring about printing, but a full size pistol and two mags under a t-shirt isn't exactly a flattering look under a t-shirt in Phoenix in the summer time. A slimline Glock with an EPS Carry on it is starting to look like just the ticket. Or maybe a COA, depending on what's going on with those when the time comes. But $400ish for a G48, $100 for an optic cut and $300ish for a dot is a pretty temping price point overall for a good carry gun. ______________________________________________ "If the truth shall kill them, let them die.” Endeavoring to master the subtle art of the grapefruit spoon.

I may have to revisit the red dot sight. I wrote it off after trying the Romeo on the P365XL with very little success. I was not good with it at all. After reading about using both eyes in another thread, I realized I was doing it wrong. I'm not sure why I didn't look into some YouTube videos to learn how to use it, just like I do with everything else. With my vision, I don't see particularly well out of either eye by itself, but I have decent vision with both eyes. Instead of chasing the target with the red dot, I need to focus on the target and bring the red dot to it. These 2 posts gave me a lot to think about.

Yeah, when using a dot on a pistol at a range, shooting for groups, I think it kind of sucks. I focus on the target and almost use the dot in almost an occluded manner. I'm not sure how to better explain that, but the less I focus on the dot, the more clearly it comes into focus. Anyways, I have to think about it a lot more when when I'm standing still and not shooting in a hurry. Where it proved itself to me was shooting on the clock in a competition setting, especially in stages where I'm shooting while moving, or there's swinging or clamshell targets. The dot becomes less of a conscious thing, and it's simply a confirmation of when to fire. The more I practice my draw at home, the more quickly I'm able to just draw and have the gun on target. It also confirmed that my trigger press was garbage, so dry fire practice has been a lot more productive as well. Early this last spring, I went out in the desert with the guys and we set up a bunch of cardboard and steel targets and some courses of fire, then broke out the shot timer. Using my G45 and G17 with irons, I was totally biffing it. I ran this one we set up with my G45 and the Ameriglo Agents and the stage ended on a dueling tree and I emptied a whole magazine at about 10 yards without flipping a single one. I called it, walked back and asked a buddy if I could run it with his G47 with the EFLX on it. I couldn't miss. Flipped all the steels, then flipped them back again, then started flipping them a third time until the gun ran dry. That was the day I decided to go ahead and set up a gun with a dot. The match this last weekend just sent it home for me. One of the guys in my little shooting group was on my squad with me, and actually walked up to me after one stage and said "you were a hell of a lot faster, I guess the dot's working out, huh?" I think it's worth a legit try. Give it a few months and a couple thousand rounds, some serious dry fire practice. ______________________________________________ "If the truth shall kill them, let them die.” Endeavoring to master the subtle art of the grapefruit spoon.

I will politely disagree. If you aren’t shooting tighter groups on paper than with using irons than you absolutely are doing it wrong. I don’t understand your occluded comment but the very beauty of a dot is that it removes any error that irons by their very nature input into the equation. Equal height equal light in 3 different visual planes can never match under any circumstance staring at a target and when the dot overlays the bull sending the shot. The only thing I can tell you to try on bullseye shooting is to turn the dot down in intensity until it is just visible. Not only does that remove any potential bloom of the dot but it also effectively shrinks the effective MOA size of the dot. This thread illustrates that there is a lot of misunderstanding of how to use dots. My bil kept trying to “line” up the dot with the irons. He couldn’t stop. The only thing that solved it for him was buying a Max Michel X5 that has no iron sights. lol. Anecdote. Me and my buddy went to the range yesterday. I coached him through using my dot equipped PDP. He shot the tightest group I have ever seen him shoot in 20 years. My point? The juice is worth the squeeze if you are willing to try/learn. And wait for the 48COA. It is a great combo.

I read that as wait for the 48MOA and thought.....well that seems a bit excessive. Take Care, Shoot Safe, Chris

I picked up a G20 Gen 5 MOS today. The optic plate is marked "06" which if I read the paperwork correctly, means it will fit Holosun but not the 507. I want to be sure before I buy an optic for it. I am leaning toward the Holosun SCS. End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

06 will not work with a Holosun 509. It will work with all RMR style optics like the 507 family including the 507 Comp if you really want a big window for a less than Trijicon price.

Never had one myself, so I have no personal experience with it, but I believe the Glock version of the SCS direct mounts to the MOS cut without a plate, which is how it can get low enough to cowitness with standard irons. Be sure to fact check me on that before you buy, but I'm pretty sure that's the case. ----------------------------------------------------------- Any comments made by this poster are my own and do not reflect the views or opinions of my employer.

I’ve had one on a G45 for years now. I put it under some light now and then. Maybe take the slide off and leave it in the sun/window if I think about it once a year and I’ve had no problems. I’ve probably put FAR more thought into it than necessary to be honest. It’s a good little direct mount option. Very KISS though. It’s all auto brightness or “turbo mode” for short periods so if you want full control it’s not for you. The auto brightness is excellent however, it does err’ on the brighter side though.
