Thanks for posting the pic, Chowser.

I'm actually a fan of the color. A G43x with 15 round magazines and a COA would be a nice package for a lot of folks. I would like to get a closer look at the base plate. Being a metal magazine, it should be easier to remove.

Wow! Those are even less flush fitting than the original 10 round mags. My Gen 3 Shield mags are all working fine, so I’ll just stick with them.

Even if this were to mark the "death" of the G19, it will still live on in all the various G19 direct copies like the RXM, Dagger, or 920.

And while I doubt the G19 will ever fully go away, this does also allow Glock to compete against all these other G19 copies by offering the same performance and capacity in a thinner package.

I don’t think the G-19 is going anywhere.
Less popular, probably. Dead- nope.

The G-19 still fits a spot for standard frame handguns (think Law Enforcement & Military).

Nah. I don’t think that the 19 is going anywhere. From a shooting perspective, it still does everything better than the 43x/48.

The 43x is extremely capable. But, I’ve drifted back to a G6 19. The G6 19 shoots like the previous generation 17.

Can’t go wrong either way.

Well, I'll probably but Ruger's version of the Glock 17.

My buddy has a Gen 6 G19. Handling it, i realized it’s what everyone has been trying to do to the former generations. The grip is narrow and also swells on the sides. It is not straight from top to bottom-along the backstrap. It fits the hand perfectly.

I have 2 gen 3 G19s (one custom stippling, one NIB) I also have a G43X with metal mags.

If I wanted to buy a new model-it would be the 19

They have a blue label 19 and 17 gen6 for 555 at my lgs. Tempting? Yes, because I agree that just by casual fondling it is the best 19 ever made.

Buy the 19. I held the 17, 45 and 19 back in January. I bought the 19.

The 17 or 47 doesn't get you much of anything over the 45 or 19 these days.

Slightly different recoil impulse (personal preference)

Very slightly more weight out front (may or may not allow for minutely less muzzle flip)

Slightly more velocity (~4%)

Slightly longer sight radius (moot if using an optic)

Yeah, I’ve been quibbling about which one to get when the time comes and I’m pretty sure it’ll be either a 45 or a 19.

Here’s my current dilemma-
Work and Off Duty, I went back to the 9mm years ago.

I had the G-17 as my Duty, then the G-19 as Off Duty.
I picked up a G-34 with RDS & Light (and about 25 mags) for an awesome price I couldn’t pass up.
I got a good deal on two G-43X’s (one for me, one for Mrs CPD SIG).
The G-43X is my go-to Off Duty gun, it’s comfortable, shoots great and with the 15rd Shield mags, it’s hard to beat.

But damn, I really like that Gen 6 G-19!
I’m not going to get rid of my third generation. I can’t really justify getting another G-19 6th Gen “just because”…

But I probably will Wink

I just installed a Timney Alpha trigger in a gen3 19. I used the red spring as the instructions said to if you have an aftermarket connector. This one has a ghost. Have not shot it yet, but it feels a lot like a PPQ or VP9 now. It is much smoother and lighter on the take up. There is a definite wall, and it breaks very clean. I'm not gonna hit it with a hammer or drop it off the house to test the drop safety, but it will take some rounds to get comfortable with. I have a 19x and a gen5 19, they are not bad. This trigger obviously is in a different class. Not difficult to install with the included tools and a glock tool or a punch.

My feelings on this with the Gen6 pistols-

After reading this thread, I spent my range day today messing with a Gen6 17 and 19, and a Gen5 19. I looked at first shot draw times, splits, and bill drill times at 7 and 25 yards. Everything was shot from concealment at the 3 o’clock position covered with a t shirt.

The 17 is certainly the most forgiving. At the 7, I kept all the rounds in a neat little lump at .18-.19 splits. Average draw time was around a 1.30. All “A”s.

The 19.6 is giving me a little Glock knuckle for some reason. It gave about identical performance as the 17 but it was a much larger groups. All “A”s.

The 19.5 was more comfortable and the groups still opened up yet again. Still all “A”s.

One shot draws with all three at the 25 were is the neighborhood of 2 seconds. The 17 saw pretty controllable .32-.33 splits with all “A”s. The 19.6 shot better than the 19.5 as I felt I didn’t have to work as hard. Threw a few Charlie’s with the 19s at 25.

I definitely would shoot carry optics in USPSA with a 19.

But that’s just me.

Not a Glock per say, but I wanted to get a slimmer package for work and summer carry. I ended up picking up a Shadow Systems CR920XP. I really prefer the G19 grip and slide lengths and this fit the bill perfectly while also coming from the factory with 15 round mags. It's what the 48 should have been when it was initially released and has a crisper trigger from the factory to start.

I was tempted by the P365 Xmacro, but wanted to stay with the same grip angle for my carry guns as I don't see the 19 going away, but being more relegated to woods and winter type carry.

Even with the factory trigger guard reduction?
You’re still getting that “rub”?

OHHH! A little "FoF" fun! Big Grin

RE: The Glock Knuckle and The Rub -
"At the sides"- Like at the corner right where the trigger guard meets the frame?
Or underneath?

Is anyone running a Gen 6 yet on duty? If so, by chance with a Safariland 6360 RDS?
