I don't give a flip about the COA, BUT if the mount interface is good enough to set a new standard, I wish it the best. Looks better than that looney capstan system the RCR uses. Don't know if it's better than the 509t, but I just want a standard like 1913. Is that too much to ask?

I really like what Trijicon and Glock did here with COA. I'd like a standard pistol optic mount and this could be it. The name A-cut makes me think it will be open source as they didn't name it Trijicon cut or Glock cut. SIG and S&W would never put "Glock cut" on their pistol, but maybe A-cut could become the pistol "picatinny" optic mounting system.

I really like that the same cut fits for both G19 and G43 sized pistols. Yes the COA is a little wider than the 43/48 frame but the optic fits. I think Glock was smart to just to completely drop MOS (plates weren't the permanent answer) and go to a completely new generation. I'm sure there will be adapter plates made to put your old optic on a new Glock A-cut pistol, if you really wanted to.

I have a few SIGs.

Wow, that's pretty high considering the Aimpoint Acro isn't that much.

I know it’s not $30 (it’s $88) but I wasn’t sure if that $30 was hard ceiling.

Forum member Triaxle said he found some on e-bay for $30 and they worked well, I'm hoping somebody can steer me towards a good one. Your TRUGLO worked fine for me, but since I only need to install one more sight, I thought I'd at least try a cheapo.

Seeing $970 as the price for the Glock/COA 19/45/47 and $805 Blue Label. Assuming no reliability issues, Glock has a winner here and will sell every one they make.

Glock finally getting around to selling a package gun is going to hurt SIG the most. No telling how much money Glock left on the table by not offering a package gun.

And here I was thinking that the ACRO rail would nave made for the perfect “mini pic” standard.

If the ACRO P-2 had actually been a better sight (I have two), perhaps their mini-Pic rail would have caught on with more than the Steiner/Swampfox/etc brands. Alas, being one of the largest optics, with the smallest window, cheap plastic battery cover, and following the abysmal performance of P-1, it was not to be.

I do love the idea of a mini-Pic rail, my 509T models have a variation of this, the COA's zero screw mount (on the body) is fantastic. No more wasted space on the optic for screw mounting points! THIS IS HUGE! The A-cut gets everything lower and opens up way more design potential past just the COA. I can't wait and pray the other pistol optic designers follow suit, if this launch is successful.

Any recommendations? I need a kit with a front sight tool as well.

Wanna borrow one? I can help you with that. Send me an email if interested.

I just bought another G17. Exotic because MA.

These guns, are a tool and nothing more. Oh I have fancier guns, I prefer the P365 for carry. The G17 is in fast access safes in my home, like a fire extinguisher.

A bone stock Glock, is a measure of purity.

Very nice! Early Gen 2, with Austrian nitro proofs. I’ve been thinking lately that I ought to pick up a Gen 2 17, just because.

Sorry I didn't see this sooner, KMitch, probably spending too much time on the Cat Thread. Smile

I borrowed a sight pusher from cslinger a couple months back and the shipping costs both ways were higher than the cost of the cheapo kits on ebay, so since they had been mentioned here as being decent, I thought I'd try one of them. Just asking if anybody can direct me to a good one.

Thanks for your offer.

At one time, I owned every 9mm Glock model. Loved most of them. Still favor the M17.

I swore I would never buy another and wound up getting a G17 gen 5. While they are not the prettiest guns out there, they just work like they should and for me, you can 9.8 out 10 times rely on them, compared to other guns out there. There is a reason many clones are coming out now in the Glock format/design. I wound up getting a CAA MCK for it as it makes a great little gun combo with a sling.

Another great thing about them is how cheap they are becoming on the used market. Win/win.

I'm cross-posting this so that it's archived in this thread:

When I first started visiting the Smyrna facility in the early 1990s, you just drove into the parking lot and walked up to the door, which was locked. There was a receptionist sitting to the left of the door, who could see you through the door and through the glass partition she was behind.

If you didn't look like you were there to rob the place, she buzzed you in.

The reception room was small, smaller than a moderate home living room. Fake wood paneling, a couple of posters on the walls. There was a small card table and a couple of folding chairs. This was where you sat when you filled out any needed paperwork, and the technician would sit with you to discuss matters.

Later on, a couch was added.

Glock eventually put in a gate. As soon as you pulled off Highlands Pkwy, there was the gate and a guard booth to your left. You stopped, the guard came out and inquired as to your business. If you had a pistol, they took it, recorded the serial number, copied your ID, put a cable tie through the magazine well, and let you in. They also gave you a visitor's badge. On the way out, you once again stopped at the gate, the guard removed the cable and took the visitor's badge.

When the reception area was moved from 7000 Highlands Pkwy to 6200, the reception area was once again cramped for a time. This was when I had the excellent customer service encounter I've mentioned a couple of times. Glock had just moved into that space and it was a bit of a mess. The "move" was nothing more than Glock changing the door you would enter. It's about 150 feet down the building.

I was over there last month. Glock has gotten all fancy shmansy.

The gate, which was parallel to the roadway, is now perpendicular to the road. You pull off the road, make a left turn and stop at the gate. The guard booth is now to your right. The guard comes out, you're asked your business and all the rest- cable tie, visitor's badge. Additionally, they've started recording your license plate number and the make, model and year of your vehicle.

I have to say that the guard I encountered this last visit was the only discourteous person I've encountered in my 30+ years of visiting this facility. I'll leave out the details except to say that I get the feeling somebody really wanted to be a cop but didn't pass muster for whatever reason.

It may sound silly, but I feel privileged to witness the evolution of Glock's Smyrna facility over the years.

^^^That is very cool. That is something you don't see very often anymore, a firearm company that stands behind a product for that long, most of the time without question. I wish they were closer to me, as it is quite nice to have a business like this and helps you on the spot. Years ago I had a problem with an extractor and they sent me another and a bunch of cool SWAG items. Some I still have today.
