Another Glock 42 fan here. Sweet little gun. It’s one of those ones where you hand it to a friend at the range, and when they look back at you after a few rounds, they’ve got this huge grin on their face. Only other gun I’ve seen with quite that effect is an M1 Carbine. Love the 42 for a coat pocket gun in the winter and a really slim compact IWB in the summer in shorts and t-shirt weather. Even picket carried it to the pool once. I know there’s smaller guns, but I find the 42 very shootable, probably in part because of the size.

I am pretty impressed with my Glock 42 and my wife and I both have one. They are a very comfortable gun to shoot and carry.

My hand swallows up the little 42. I kept locking open the slide prematurely because my thumb was hitting the slide release. So, I took a Dremel and did this, which is an imperfect solution, but it works.

I carry my G42 as a backup pistol in a DeSantis Apache ankle holster. Flat base magazine, seven rounds of Hornady 90 grain XTP.

A G42 has never been on my radar until now. I love carrying a 19 appendix but couldn’t hurt to have a truly small gun.

I ran across an old friend yesterday. My G19 Gen3. It was sitting in a dark corner in the safe. I pulled it out and thought about the many hours it had spent with me before a string of new toys had relegated it to the rear. I plan on taking it with me on the next range day.

Have any of you done this? Pick up a Glock you have not handled in a long time and get the same feeling you get when you find a long lost tool in your workshop?

That's funny. I did the same last night with my modded Gen 3 19. My M&P compact with the 3.6" barrel carry's a bit easier so it is my main edc but the tried and true 19 is such a great little pistol. It's getting some range time this weekend as well. Smile

I have a Glock 19X currently & have been looking hard at a G43X

I figure at some point I will buy a Glock 19 just to see what all the hype is, and I do like to have a wide range of different brands and calibers!

I really like my G43X. It has replaced my G19 for EDC.

I just picked up a new 43x a couple days ago to replace the G42 I gave to my stepdaughter.

After shooting it, because of the low recoil she had to have it. I told her that if she signed up for a CCW class, she could have it.

It hasn't even been fired yet.

Well, I traded my G45 for a West German P226 a few weeks back. It was a good trade, I only had $500 in the Glock, but I really liked it and I'll be looking for another one here, starting tomorrow. Hopefully I can get a line on one for reasonable nearby. There's a couple for sale with a good dealer up in Lynnwood, but I don't feel like driving all that way twice.

Another fanboy for the G42! I put Trijicon night sights on it (I always do that or something similar) and carry it often.

I really wish I could get a red dot for it, but I keep reading it has too narrow a slide.

Well, according to their websites, there's two local shops with G45's in stock. I'm going to swing by the nearer one tomorrow and wave some cash at them and see if they'll come down to match the further shop's price ($575 vs $545). Hopefully they'll play ball.

I got rid of all my Glocks over time but I kept a 19...Then a few months back I sold it... why because I purchased a PSA Dagger..I shot the Dagger for more than now 400 rounds and it hasn't had any kind of failure, so I sold my last Glock a 19. Everything is better on the Dagger!

Now it just proves the point so many have made that the Glock is a very over priced gun. PSA has been able to produce a gun that has superior parts and upgrades to the Glock for a price of $299 and it's a superior gun. All this in 2022 at todays cost of manufacturing. It's a run away success and when PSA
gets their sub compacts on the market later this year I buy those. Plus the five seven it's introducing in a few months for $499 1/2 the price of the Ruger 1/3 the price of the FN. Unbelievable but true

Horse shit

If you want to spend your time with a cheezoid copy of a Glock, have at it, but save the pitch. The only thing the Dagger is, is cheaper, and in more ways than one.

Me too and a big fan of 380 in general, I did the Trijicon's also. The 42 is the sweetest shooter I own period !

I put Dawson precision red fiber optic front and black rear on all my handguns that will except them. So I did the same for my 42 that I just picked up a couple months back. I wanted something deep and easy to carry and conceal but that shoots like a big gun in my massive hands. I’ve had other micro guns that are fine (and I don’t know if it’s the recoil spring as I’ve read or what) but the 42 really does shoot like a full-size gun for me. I did an overwatch precision trigger because I guess the 42 is so small I didn’t like the feel of the typical Glock trigger and wanted something more substantial. But I’ve carried it ankle, appendix, pocket and regular strong side when it’s just me and it’s been great. I have put 1000 rounds through it and will definitely keep. (unless one of my kids decides they need it worse than I do lol.)

What. Fucking. Ever.

LMAO.

There's always one. "But my Taurus only cost $175 on sale and it's a better gun!" Cool story, bro.

Back to reality - I bought a G45 Monday afternoon for $539 plus tax. Because it's Washington, I have to wait for my local police to get back to the gun shop and tell the gun shop I can own a handgun. Roll Eyes

Anyways, that's the quickest I've replaced a gun I sold. Less than a month. Sucky part is, the one I traded had a set of Ameriglo I DOT on it, and the one I bought has the placeholders on it. So I'll have to figure out what sights I want to put on it. Really liked that Ameriglo front. Probably end up with a set of Hackathorns or CAP, depending on how I'm feeling. Flip a coin kind of thing.
