That is a bit of surprise on a hunting pistol. OTOH, I'd like one with a fixed rear sight for...well, just about anything I can do with a 10mm.

I know some are probably tired of seeing this dead horse beaten but I HAVE to say it......So they'll do Kryptec but no NON rail models? Ok, I feel slightly better now.

Not to be cynical, but what hunting crowd? When I asked what current owners of 10mm autoloading handguns originally purchased them for here, the number of owners who said they bought them for the primary purpose of hunting was less than two percent. Even when those who purchased them for backup when hunting were included, the total was less than 10 percent.

Are there that many more would-be 10mm handgun hunters out there who were just waiting for a P220 chambered for the cartridge?

Well, your poll is only representing some members of SigForum who decided to take it. I'm sure there are probably a lot of handgun hunters that are not members of SigForum. So that poll is hardly representative of possible sales for the Camo 10mm.

OK, lets dig this up again....

I want da/sa...adjustable sights...all stainless finish....

And I can compromise on the rest.

I am going to by one regardless of the config. But thought it important to let sig know how I want it?...lol

I hope that would be obvious to anyone smart enough to own a firearm in the first place.

But your basis for a contrary belief is ... what? Those of the opinion that there is a crowd of people who intend to buy the 10mm P220 primarily for the purpose of hunting are, I suspect, speculating on the basis of a hunch: Is that better than a self-selected, unscientific poll that didn’t ask about a product that wasn’t even on the market in significant numbers? Wink

My guesses about what varieties of the 10mm P220 will be popular won’t affect the sales of something that was probably developed at significant cost to the company concerned. Fortunately.

But I’ll still bet a nickel—or, heck, even a dollar—that that there won’t be very many of the guns sold as primary hunting tools. I’ll be watching, though, for threads in the coming years showing hunters posing with the game they’ve taken with the pistols. And then I’ll think to myself, “Wrong again. That’s why you’re not in the firearms manufacturing business; or at least one reason.” Smile

If you look at the pictures, they just have to change the front sight on the slide and then put the coating on it to make the Camo model. They may just make these as the orders come in and not tie up units in a configuration that might not be popular.

This finish is not my cup of tea, but as Paten points out, there's very little extra which needs to be done to make this particular variant. These types of alternate finishes seem to be popular with the younger shooters. I imagine SIG will sell more of these to non-hunters, unless we're talking about zombie hunters, that is. Wink

Let's not forget that this is a by God 10mm P220, something which we were certain would never exist in factory form. That these pistols exist at all is fantastic.

I am so close to pre ordering the Lipsey's two-tone. I always wanted a Langdon 220 and this would be a more than adequate substitute.

For the record, regardless of the finish, this actually has me excited about hunting with a P220-10mm. We have a couple short-range only seasons & units here in Idaho, that I'd love to hunt in, this is VERY tempting. Maybe SAO really is the ticket...

I carry a pistol with me when I'm rifle hunting anyway, this could shave some weight!!

I am an old SIG DA/SA guy, being usually my preferred interface on a P-series SIG ... can anyone with SIG SAO Match Elite describe some of the advantages of changing the trigger style?

I have shot/owned 1911s and understand crisp single stage single action triggers and short resets. But for carry, I don't normally incorporate a manual side safety into my routine. Most all of my P-series SIGS have nice short resets already with lightened and smoothed DA w/ crisp SA courtesy of Grayguns' excellent work.

I'm interested in a P220 10mm like everyone else, but wondering if I should change my DA/SA bias towards SAO?

Would someone be willing to characterize the difference these two different trigger systems?

We just finished the video about the GT20 version of the P220 in 10mm. Nice closeup shots (no drooling!). This gun shoots well. A whole lot better than I did. Wink Didn't even adjust the sights. Just shot it straight out of the box. I'll tweak it, since it appears to be just a tad high and left for me.

Hope you enjoy the "gun porn."

Nice video Tom. That oughta sell some of those GT20s. Had I seen that earlier before I gave up my $ for one I might have ordered that. I do like that fiber optic front sight.

Have any buyers received their GT20s yet?

Way cool video sir. Good shooting too and a most excellent pistol.. Cool By golly for a single action I do indeed like the somewhat flat profile of the trigger also.
