Excellent news! I ended up booking a 5 night cruise to Half Moon Cay and Nassau for less than half what the same time would have been at Disney in one of their "budget" on site hotels.

What a nutless POS

“It is clear that this is not just an issue about a bill in Florida, but instead yet another challenge to basic human rights. You needed me to be a stronger ally in the fight for equal rights and I let you down,” CEO Bob Chapek said in a statement about the legislation. “I am sorry.”

He's a groveling little worm and they have him right by his tiny little balls now and will never let up.

That was his first mistake, he should have taken this guy's advice:

I suppose it still has to make it through the House and then go to DeSantis, but that doesn't appear to be much of a hurdle.

We have a Republican house, and the Governor has already stated that he will sign the bill when it lands on his desk.

Nope, it should fly through the house and be signed into law. Most people haven't a clue just how huge an issue this is, but I guarantee you, Disney shareholders will soon know, and hopefully their spineless POS CEO will catch it in the teeth from all of them. What a monumental failure of judgement by the CEO. Talk about a time where it was "better to just sit quietly".

Its more than just money. If Disney wanted to build another road, or fill in a pond, or add onto a existing building on property, they could just do it. Now all of that will require county/city/state approval and go through all the permitting, review, and fee processes. It's like having full access to the refrigerator, and then in an instant, you have to ask permission to even open the door.

I can only imagine what must be going on in the California offices right now.

I realize Disney tickets are expensive but this graph is completely pointless.
What did you get in 1971 compared to today?

Just like saying the average cost of a house has grown well above the rate of inflation since 1971.
Average square footage has likely doubled, central air, wiring, 2 car garages, the list goes on.

Gasoline was 31.9 cents a gallon and Big Macs were $.50, as well as a pack of cigarettes was also $.50 in 1975

The big Mac/ quarter pounder price has always been kind of my go to inflation adjuster/measure, but the product has changed lately.

As a teenager, you could collect nickels dimes and quarters out of the couch and have lunch, a drive and fun for a couple hours.
