If Jeb Bush really had the fire in his belly, he wouldn't need Donald Trump to make him demonstrate it.

Ain't buyin' it. Jeb Bush is about as dynamic as an old mattress.

His body language-- he looks like a standing 8 count. Slouch, dangling arms, vacant eyes... like the ref says, "What is your name?" and he says, "I like pizza! Mommy! Providence is the capital of Rhode Island."

To find the "Establishment", it is like anything else, just follow the money. Jeb Bushs' campaign, they say, is loaded. While I certainly can't name all the sources or donors, I'd say it's safe to assume who the establishment is behind. I don't think Jebs' war chest consists of $5 donations from across the middle class.

Neither does Donald Trump's war chest, and I think you might have a hard time arguing at this point that he is somehow the establishment.

We figured out that money equals political speech a long time ago. People still tend to be happy when the candidates and the causes they favor have money behind them, and scream "corruption!" when someone else has the money. $5 dollar contributions are good because they indicate broad support. But that doesn't mean it makes sense spurn the support of rich donors when they donate to causes we support simply because they're willing to donate in large amounts.

In the event Trump gets nominated and elected as a Republican, he may be able to make some temporary changes to the GOP, but it won't be long lasting unless a long-term and widespread purge occurs that is greater than Trump himself.

The Obama midterms saw many tea party candidates elected to office. If Trump manages to ride a wave of popularity into the white house he'll bring many more with him.

You can knock his mom off that list. Mrs. Bush is on the record saying she doesn't think it's a good idea. Big Grin

the current composition of "the establishment" is not merely those out of favor, it is the bulk of both parties, some 80+% I'd wager of every elected, appointed, staff, pundit, journalist, and "Washington insiders" currently involved in federal politics. and the frustration isn't about this party or that one, parties are almost irrelevant in this case, it's "ruling class" behavior that must stop.

most every professional, career politician, all the way down to the agency-level Directors and such who have demonstrated that maintaining the status quo, and enriching themselves, are their primary purposes and focuses nowadays. where love of country and *service* seem like mere afterthoughts.

it's those who supported the sham of an Iran deal, those who support Boehner or Jeb or McCain, those who thwarted the Tea Party, and a thousand other examples of real-life "conduct unbecoming". the double talking, money spending, government expanding, liberty eroding, pieces of shit who, sadly, make up most of the fuckers there.

the more important question is, who *isn't * a part of the problem...

No, I don't think I'll spend any time trying to argue that DT "is somehow the establishment". ????? Where the heck or how they heck did you come up with that. Actually, never mind.

Spot on.

We - normal low to middle class people like me - are sick of the status quo. We're tired of electing decent people and watching them get shoved to the sidelines or indoctrinated into the suck that is the status quo. We are damn sick of going along to get along. We are sick and tired of pretending Benghazi was about a video. We are sick of looking the other way on $19T debt that we "know" of, not to mention the untold trillions in unfunded liabilities. We are tired of seeing Boner cry like a bitch at the drop of a hat over shit we don't care about. We are sick of the false dichotomy of "war or this" with regards to the Iran deal. We are tired of seeing Republicans telling us we "need" illegals in our nation. We are sick of seeing our vets treated like second class citizens. We are tired of a miserable piece of shit in the white house that vilifies cops and celebrates thug life at every opportunity. That is "the establishment". A group of good ole boys and girls that do what benefits them and give fuck-all what we want.

We showed them how we feel with Eric Cantor - remember him? I believe that really was a watershed moment in Republican history. They could have taken that "tip" and made changes. It was their golden opportunity to chart a new course. So what did they do? Boner cried for a while until McCain rubbed some powder on his bottom and then everybody went right back to keeping the status quo. Like nothing happened. Suppressing the TEA Party, calling Cruz and Paul "lunatics" and pretending they're the "fringe" of America, when in fact, they're the only ones who truly represent us at all.

Trump may not be the answer we need. And he's probably not the absolute best man for the job. But he's a damn sight better than anything else I've been shown.

I love what I'm seeing. Keep making fun of his hair or his goofy hat or his money or whatever. If that's all the ammo the talk-show hosts and Debbie can come up with, Trump will eat their lunch all day every day.

He's not the perfect candidate - but for now - I'll settle for the candidate that shakes up the status quo and doesn't outright hate the shit out of America.

the goal is not to become the establishment, btw, or the ruling elites, it's to shift focus away from the practice of establishment-like behavior, of ruling-class like behavior, and demonstrably and hopefully permanently more toward true-service motivations and sacrifice for country rather than being professional politicians and career insiders whose motives are now in conflict between self preservation / personal enrichment and doing the right thing even when it may cost them.

briefer terms, fulfilled by more regular people and business folk, doing less with less, focused on more important things, then going home proud of doing real work of true benefit.

less bullshit, fewer scandals and overt lies.

these issues are most certainly not just Democratic Party problems either, they are endemic to both parties, and always have been, but have gotten worse over time, to the point of absurdity, of farcical proportions.

it cannot continue.

if have to hear another fucking story about some asshole whose job it is to make the laws *I* have to follow who themselves write bad checks galore, or doesn't pay their taxes, or participates in insider trading, or who accomplished little while on the teet but parlayed that into some lucrative consulting gig, or broke dozens of laws we'd be buried under the jail for yet still gets away with it, or campaigns for a while but never amounts to much and goes home with a war chest worth millions, I might (figuratively) choke a motherfucker.

instead I vote and complain and such, but they'd deserve a chokin'... or worse. despicable bastards and their double standards.

this bullshit has to stop.
