Do you guys have the impression Trump is a pushover?

Have a little faith.

The FoxNews talking heads are lamenting over the latest poll, which say Trump is stomping everyone. I say you should ignore polls. In the case of FoxNews, they think these polls are conducted by Jesus himself, so I'm happy to watch these frauds squirm.

No, I don't think he wants to be inside the tent, and I don't think he will sign. He knows better than anyone what is the basis of his appeal, and it is NOT to be a toe-the-line Republican.

Surprising, but the guy hasn't made a wrong move yet. Whatever...

quote:
A close associate tells POLITICO that Donald Trump plans to sign a loyalty pledge Thursday that would bind him to endorsing the Republican nominee and would preclude a third-party run. Trump made the stunning decision, which he has long resisted, to avoid complications in getting listed on primary ballots, and to take away an attack line in the next debate, the associate said.

Trump, who has led the GOP field in poll after poll, has long viewed the threat of a third-party candidacy as priceless leverage — and even used that word when he refused to take such a pledge in the first debate on Aug. 6.

So his decision to give it up is a sign that he increasingly wants to show his campaign is real and not a stunt. The colorful magnate is also trying to make that point by adding staff in key states, issuing position papers and pursuing access to primary ballots throughout the country...

Trump signed his pledge and I don't think it matters anyway. He's taking questions right now and seems to be less bombastic. He's saying the same things he's said before, but he's choosing his words more carefully, and I think this is because after meeting with the head of the RNC, he sees the lay of the land more clearly. This is not intended to be complimentary to the RNC. Believe me, I'm not impressed with those ninnies, but I think Trump sees things as they are right now

In a nutshell, I'm good with all of this.

And now, let's get on with it...

Not only that.... but now other candidates are being confronted and more or less forced to say they pledge to support the winner of the primaries, even if it's Trump. So it works both ways.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

He takes and answers every question succinctly and doesn't bullshit. That alone separates him from that poser in Chief. Barry will stand there and pontificate for five minutes for just one question and still not answer it. Trump will have answered 10 questions in that time, and unlike Barry, one has a clear idea where he stands.

Goddamn, that's refreshing.

OK, one of the FNC talking heads just asked Rick Perry about Trump's claim that Perry is getting out of the race, and Perry's response was:

"Well, y'know, a broken clock is right once a day."

Confused

Umm, no, and what does that even mean in the context of the question, Oppenheimer?? Roll Eyes

It's double edge, like Rush said today, if Trump is nominated, the others will have to come out and support him, which will probably give them ulcers, or they will lie, and not do it.

Trump is totally correct; Perry is a dimmed bulb. Wow.

Yep, thinking about it, I see how it's a good move. And Rick Perry just needs thicker glasses, and maybe a pocket pen holder, and then he'll be really smart.

Rick Perry has stopped paying his campaign staff. He may not "officially" quit until after the next debate, but he isn't going anywhere. The new poll has him at 1%, barely above Jim Gilmore and Lady Lindsey. Big Grin

Uh, not when your clock is broken. It's over for you, Rick.

Somebody, lead Rick by the elbow off stage please. He can't see a thing with those fucking glasses.
