The Khan episode was a setup by Clinton and the dems and Trump walked right into their trap. Very disappointing and yet another example of Trump's political ineptitude. He needs to quit being such an arrogant ass and hire some professional help... Before he can get around to governing he needs to get elected and he does not have the political instincts needed.

This baiting will continue until the election and Trump is his own worst enemy in that regard.

The only people "baiting" right now are you guys. The Trump haters should be about out of hand lotion by now, though. Just look at all the expert political strategists here, telling Trump what he needs to do. He's only the Republican presidential nominee, so, yeah, he needs your guidance and sage advice.

Interesting article from The Hill

http://thehill.com/blogs/pundi...mearing-donald-trump

Yes it was a politically designed hit at Trump, nobody cares, Trump says shit all the time and has to step around his own piles, why, because he's not a figging professional politician and that's the beauty, people forgive him some for errors because he's not a member of the gang.

No, I'm certain this is the flameout all the experts have been talking about for nearly 14 months.

Aaaaaaaaaanytime now. Yep.

And it's important stuff, too. This really matters. Yep.

Trump didn't get emails from Russia, he got the Crazy Ivan. The Khan issue just seems like another one. I hope he gets off it.

In 2005, the Washington Post published an article about this Khan family. The son was a patriot and the father seemed to instill the foundation for that.

From the article . . . .

"He said that it seems only fair and logical to join the Army," Khan said. "Because he wanted to complete the journey -- he felt

It was logical, Khan said, and how was a lawyer going to argue with logic?

Humayun finished his four years of service and was preparing for law school when the Army called him back to duty. As he was moving into Iraq last year, Khan called him and they spoke briefly, a conversation he has turned over in his mind a million times since.

His son said, "Remember I wrote that article for admission to U-Va.?" Khan said, pausing, taking the pen cap off and putting it on again, his voice steady. "He said, 'I meant it.' He said that. He wasn't going there through some thoughtless process, or thoughtlessly following orders. He thought he was serving a purpose."
Link

Trump should thank the son for his service, commend the family for instilling patriotic American values that led to his son's service and just disagree with the father's conclusions about Trump's view of the Constitution.

It is hard to put down a still-grieving father and to do so with a deft hand is not Trump's strong suit. If he managed to change his approach, Trump would show more promise in compassion-filled circumstances.

Though Khan put himself in the fray by skidding to the Hillary camp, he will not get a pass forever. Another Trump-supporting soldier or Gold Star parent would be better positioned to take on this public issue.

Grief does not make someone right, but it does make someone more vulnerable. People humanely feel an urge to protect someone like that.

I can say this with confidence- whatever happens in November, is already written. The election is set. Everybody know who they're going to vote for, and none of this ridiculous, petty shit we're talking about now, with Twitter and yadda yadda, is of any consequence.

I think what's going to happen is that Trump is going to win by a surprising margin, but I don't want to want that too badly right now. Anything you want too much, you don't get. Yes, I'm serious. Jus' beeeee cooooooooool.......

The only people who seem to be "Undecided" for POTUS at this point are pondering between Trump and 3rd party candidates, or Hill and 3rd party candidates, and not a swing between the R and D candidates.

On the other hand, senate and house races could get interesting. State governors too. I wonder if all of the POTUS talk can pull these races one way or the other.

Most people are set. I even think some of the 3rd party holdouts on the non-Hillary side have really already decided because there will be no viable alternative. Like Flake said on Tapper's CNN show, he is holding out to try to drive Trump to be better.

The ebb and flow will continue like the new revelations about how deeply Khan is tied to Clinton and a Saudi immigration legal practice. But, the whole process could have important effects on the unity and progress of our country. Trump's co-chair, as a veteran, struck what I thought was a good tone and response to Khan here: Video Link

The truly undecideds will break later and some of those are not necessarily driven by the facts as much as by an impression they carry at the last moment.

Both candidates will just get pummelled and re-pummelled for a few months. In the end, pundits will say, "It's too close to call" whether it is or not - and as usual.

Given what has and will transpire, the October surprise is going to have to be a doozy for anyone to even notice this year.

What fiasco? And who is it hurting? (I hope it costs Paul Ryan his seat)

While the media has always lambasted Trump, I have noticed since the RNC, and his nomination, its gone into overdrive.

Also, Virginians, of the liberal persuasion, have increased their letter writing and anti-Trump crap too.

In the two newspapers I read, 5 positive articles about Clinton/Obama/Democrats, to 1 positive article about Trump.

I think there are still plenty of undecided voters out there. The die hard Demobots will vote for the hag no matter what, but I think there are a bunch of moderate democrats that don't like the way the country's going & are really having second thoughts about Clinton because of her dealings.

If Trump can keep his foot out of his mouth & keep hammering on Clinton's poor record, shady deals & outright illegal activities; then he should be able to grab a bunch of moderate dems & independants.

The Presidency is Trump's to lose. We've seen the Republicans snatch defeat from the jaws of victory before, so lets not count our eggs before they're hatched.
