Tony.

Very poised speech and that makes me very proud. I believe we are in for some better years with President Trump.

I just donated - first time in a long time. Came home, was reading that Trump has raised $5MM in the past 24 hours, mentioned to wife that we should donate. She said she was thinking the exact same - so $100 to Donald. Probably more later. Worth every cent to put him in, and keep Hilary out.

transcript of Trump's speech

http://www.politico.com/story/...-the-election-224654

"I love what I do, and I am grateful beyond words to the nation that has allowed me to do it.

So when people ask me why I am running, I quickly answer: I am running to give back to this country which has been so good to me."

definitely worth watching or reading

I was proud to donate.

Donald Trump raised more than $2 million in 12 hours on Tuesday, his son said.

In a Wednesday email to supporters, Donald Trump Jr. said his father's first fundraising email was a "massive success."

The presumptive Republican nominee had appealed to supporters Tuesday for funds, announcing he would match up to $2 million in donations.

"[I]n less than 12 hours we surpassed that goal," Donald Trump Jr. wrote. "All because of supporters like you."

The rush of cash came after a dismal Federal Elections Commission report revealed late Monday that Trump ended May with only $1.3 million cash on hand. His Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton, had $42.5 million in funds available — a gap that won't be easy to close.

Donald Trump Jr. appeared to acknowledge how difficult it would be to catch up to Clinton in fundraising, asking supporters to continue donating to combat the "deep-pocketed donors" backing Clinton.

"If you haven't given yet, I'm asking you to donate right now to help out the campaign at this critical time," he wrote.

Nevertheless, Trump has, to some extent, downplayed the need to raise money.

The real-estate mogul said Tuesday he could have "unlimited" cash on hand if he wanted to, since he could simply draw from his personal fortune. The New York businessman has also boasted about his "leaner and more efficient" political operation which he has noted is far less expensive than Clinton's."""""LINK"""""

Barring some outrageous gotcha or something. I don't think he can be beat, not anymore.

That being a separate matter entirely from his warts and imperfections.

All in all, I think we'll be in better shape than we have been in a decade or more.

I'm cautiously optimistic.

Mark Levin (who has been anti-Trump) on the speech:

“The Republican leadership in Congress doesn’t have the guts to go to the floor of the Senate or the floor of the House and make these charges.

This is outstanding. You can’t let Hillary Clinton get away with her corruption, her cronyism, her criminality. I don’t care who you support or don’t support. She’s detestable.”

Levin played other clips of Trump’s speech that he praised and agreed with, saying the speech was “a very good speech.” And that when Trump went after Hillary, “he hit it out of the park.”

Oh, yeah. I am impressed by all those daring to jump on the Trump Train now that it has speed and momentum.

I bought my ticket in advance, being jaded, cynical and just plain old sick and tired of the establishment Big R Ranch cowpokes.

But, even in my cynicism, I am glad to have people getting on the train.

Run Trump, RUN!

The things Trump said in his speech everyone is praising are the same things he needs to say should Clinton make it to the point where she and Trump debate. Every single question he's asked needs to lead back to "Hillary Clinton long ago disqualified herself from public office due to her absolute corruption and perpetual dishonesty". and then follow up with whatever talking points are germane to the subject at hand.

If he hammers the subject mercilessly, no one, not even the most unethical leftist puke, will be able to ignore it.

During the hillary \ Trump Debate Trump should carry a big cigar and use as a prop like George Burns did. Burns was masterful how he used it on stage.

I'm wondering if she "Has the Ball's to actually debate him. If she does it's going to be a freak show...There will be tears and Trump will be made into a "Over bearing Man" who hates all women. It's her only card to play and she knows it. The press will try to crucify him for abusing poor poor Hillary.

Well judging by how she has not had a real press conference in 200 days now, what's stopping her from just outright refusing to debate Trump in Sept-Oct?

She won't cry; she knows that would destroy her credibility here and abroad. She'd feign affront and chastise Trump. Maybe even look into the cameras and apologize to the viewers that she wanted to debate on substance rather than trade insults. Make appeals to build consensus rather than partisan politics.
