South Carolina is another case where more Republicans voted in the Rep primary than did Dems in the Dem primary.

Hope that carries over to the general election.

South Carolina:

Rep primary 737,947 votes

Dem primary 369,240 votes

Hey Mitch, when pray tell was this 'check' on presidential overreach supposed to begin, because you've been on your knees either hiding under your desk or "doing sex" to Barry the Wonder Putz since the last election, where 'we' gave you a senate majority. Look, you're a pussy. Just admit it and leave.

If the above is true, McConnell should be run out of Washington on a rail regardless what he does or says from this point forward. This is a time for courage and a microscopic focus on doing what is right and necessary to turn this ship. McConnell has proven time and again he's too incapable (and/or incompetent) to achieve that basic goal. Time for a new senate majority leader, and for Mitchie to hit the bricks and toddle on off to Kentucky and retirement.

Fox is using way too much Megyn in it's anti-Trump efforts. A moderator she is not. When she was starting out so many years ago, she made you want to root for her. Now, I just watch CNN whenever she's on. I remembered something I learned in Boy Scouts: one should be wary of the electric-colored ones.

I agree. Her show has one single focus now. Say as many negatives as you can about Trump in an hour. You know, kind of like some of the members here on the forum. Razz

A random sampling of 1:

I just got back from Starbucks (6 am) for my weekend coffee. Out of nowhere a crazy lady came up to me and told me how her daughter and son in-law just saw Trump at an event in the southeast. How great he looked and was. Then she went off about "pretty boy" rubio and how she's fed up with him and the "cuban experience" etc. She used the term "pretty boy" like a knife.

She was adamant and excited about Trump and dissed rubio with enthusiasm.

I'm in Renton basically a suburb of Seattle where conservatives are few and far between.

The powers that be don't seem to understand the excitement for Trump and the frustration with the status quo. People are fed up with illegal immigration and the associated threats- you're not going to get that excitement and support for an immigrant- rubio.

I've been out here since '88 and this doesn't happen. People express their views but not openly conservative.

Trump is the man of the hour and people want him. I've only been paying attention to politics since 1984 and I've never seen a phenomenon like this.

This is political upheavel of a monumental scale and there's going to be casualties.

Yes. I'm flabbergasted.

But my flabberg acts up and calms down on a seasonal-adjusted basis, so it doesn't worry me that much.

He drew 10k at his gathering last night in Millington according to the local paper. Not bad for a town of maybe 13k-14k.

My favorite part of the article:

As for Trump's visit, one of the more awkward moments of the night came after Christie, who endorsed Trump Friday, gave a rousing introduction to Trump and attacked Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz as "creatures of Washington, D.C."

In a video of the event, Trump tells Christie afterward to "Get in the plane and go home. It's over there. You go home."

Trump is neither fish nor fowl, politically speaking, and that's one of the key reasons people want him.

We say amongst ourselves, in disgust, "Get rid of them all!", and the popularity of Trump is a form of this sentiment in action.

I just saw a clip of Marco Rubio loudly and adamantly proclaiming today or yesterday that "Donald Trump will NOT be the Republican nominee!"

Idiot.

I saw a similar clip and my first thought was 'he knows the GOPe will broker the convention and hand him the nomination. They've already told him so.'

I saw the video. That's New Yorkese for, "Thanks for everything, please take advantage of my private jet so that you can be home in time to spend the rest of the weekend with your wife and kids."

That's OK I am sharpening my pitchforks, cleaning my riffle and gathering more tar and feathers.

If they pull a stunt like this the tree of liberty may get watered very soon.

They can't broker the convention if Trump has a majority of the delegates. If he doesn't, then he doesn't and that's how it works. So what's the problem?

There are a bunch of Trump campaign avatar images out there. I went with the one they're using for a lapel pin. Notice the sweeping coiffure...all of them seem to play off his hair. I have to admit I love watching career politicians having a meltdown over this.

This could happen but it would be the end of the GOP. Either they're drunk on power and they're too stupid to figure it out or they know exactly what they're doing and confirming that they're all really one happy party.

Those not drinking the Clinton cool-aid will stay home and she becomes a shoe-in. It's the end of politics as we know it.

No, it can't just happen. If it happens, it will be because no one is the clear winner. And that's appropriate. So why should it be the end of the GOP, in that case?

Apparently there is a shitstorm brewing over David Duke endorsing Trump, and even though Trump disavowed him on Friday, he didn't do so this morning when asked again about it. My take? Big effing deal.

I'm sure Farrakhan will endorse Clinton. Will there be a backlash from that? Doubtful.

Rubio will not win Florida. Coup de grace.

Kasich takes Ohio, though.

Exactly...

That is what the GOP establishment still doesn't get...

They STILL think this is about Trump...it's not.

It's about the people who are voting for Trump who are sick and tired of being screwed by the typical GOP politician who lies to get voted in...then does whatever the hell they want while disregarding the people who put them there!

So they attack the man...and do not see the cause.

Which is why I will be delighted if he gets in...so I can watch the GOP establishment implode on itself.

...and from the ruins...maybe, just maybe, a real conservative party will form/emerge that listens.
