Source?

That sounds wrong, and unconstitutionally wrong.

I voted absentee for years when I was in the Air Force. It was my understanding that if the margin was such that the absentees wouldnt tip the election results, they were not counted. Say Bush carried Ohio in 2000 by 30,000 votes, but there were only 20,000 absentee ballots cast. It wouldnt make a difference even if every absentee was for gore...

So my vote wasnt counted in 2000. Really cheeses me off, too, with all the libs crying about gore winning the popular vote. My argument was that we would never know who got the most overall votes because many thousands of absentee ballots were not counted. And absentee votes traditionally run 75% Republican (hence the gore campaign trying to discard as many as they could to swing Broward County in their favor...).

All of this nonsense about absentee ballots not being counted is crap. Every ballot cast is counted, but the media doesn't delay declaring a winner if the margin is 30K and there are only 20K ballots uncounted (to use your example.) Ballots are counted, and the final tally reported, many days after the election date.

Every state counts every ballot and they are a part of the final tally.

A situation where one candidates margin of victory exceeded the total number of absentee ballots recieved is the only scenario I can think of where they wouldn't count the ballots.

I don't know the answer.... I've searched the state websites regarding this issue and can't find any info one way or the other. Certainly nothing is said about them NOT being counted, so I'm thinking the story my wife received may have been bogus, and I'm about to pass that along to her ASAP!

I had always heard the same thing Re: Alabama. I've never voted absentee so I never really bothered to look it up until now. In Alabama , absentee ballots are counted just like regular ones.

(b)...Upon closing of the polls, the absentee ballots shall be counted and otherwise handled in all respects as if the absentee voter were present and voting in person.

Well, early voted and was glad to see, here in 80% liberal-land, that a cadre of Trump/Pence folks was there at the polling place, cheerfully waving the banner.

They can fire-bomb our county Republican HQ and spray-paint their leftist threats, but nobody here is intimidated.

I got 2 things courtesy of the Dem party here in FL. I find them really sleazy in what they are sending out trying to scoop the other side's voters.

One had a quote about women not needing equal pay legislation. He is correct- if a person does a job just as well as any other, they deserve equal pay. A fact that seems better borne witness to in Trump's businesses, in contrast to the foundations run by the Clintons.

We really don't need groups to have special rights, we should all have the same rights. Trump gets that.

Then as I was going through the rest of the mail, I got my Gold Card from Trump! Happy Day.

I'm reading that someone destroyed Trumps star on the Hollywood walk of fame.

What the fuck. If someone vandalized something of Hillary's, there would be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Same thing with that naked statue of him, that all the democrats thought was funny. Did anyone make one of Hillary?

If it's OK to do it to Trump, then turnabout is fair play, assholes.

there was a naked statue of Clinton, and if I remember correctly, her supporters attacked.

Democrats are so tolerant......

I may have mentioned this before, but in my neighborhood, there are usually liberal/dem signs in MANY yards. In Wendy Davis's diaper wearing hey days, you couldn't throw a rock it seemed and not hit one of hers. This time around, the signs are gone, not here. A nice change.

In the front of our neighborhood there was one Hillary/Kane sign somebody stuck on the corner in the right-of-way. Overnight, someone (not me) took two Trump signs and placed them on either side of the Hillary/Kane sign effectively surrounding it. When I passed by this morning I LOL. Smile

Vote submitted.
I'm sure it will be one of a very few for Trump within this district but I certainly wasn't sitting it out.

I also voted today. Pretty good crowd. It took about 15 minutes. I used my CHL (concealed handgun license) instead of my driver's license just because I could.

I put my ballot in the mail this afternoon.
I am happy I lived long enough to proudly cast a vote for Donald Trump.
Back last January, it wasn't known if I would still be here, but I am.

Mrs LBJ is voting for Trump too.

I have voted in every Presidential election since I came of age to vote.

My wife and I voted this morning in person at our local DMV. The line to vote was about 10 minutes long. Voting took another 10. We all know which way Kansas is going but it's still good to see people enthusiastic about it.

Thank you President Trump.

I do not believe there has ever been a time in my life where my vote is so important as it is this year.
