I heard a Trump interview on Rush today where the Donald said Christie's endorsement means he will not be the VP pick...whatever that means. Given the shameless, duplicitous, and voraciously egocentric political whore that Christie is I know he gave Trump this virtual BJ to land a cushy job in the new Admin.

As long as Christie is not VP, AG, or nominated for the Courts, I don't care what he does.

LOL! excellent read on the situation. They went to the shelf, and pulled off the very next Bush in line. "No thanks", we said.

Do you object to him being AG because of his stance on Mary J and federal law? Cause I imagine he'd be a bulldog of an AG and do mostly some good. Perhaps I'm giving him too much credit though. ~Alan Acta Non Verba NRA Life Member (Patron) God, Family, Guns, Country Men will fight and die to protect women... because women protect everything else. ~Andrew Klavan

Make Christie a special prosecutor to go after the former Obama administration. Pretty much start with every cabinet officer and heads of IRS, EPA, HHS, DHS, ....

I do. He is the only candidate who is adamantly, confrontationally, against it. As such, he truly has a screw loose and cannot be trusted with such power. That he's a worse bloviating dickhead that even Trump is the icing on the cake. I've never liked his brand of loudmouth Jersey and NY types anyway, and he's a prime example. Trump, who is ambivalently ok with pot at best, is funnier, and more harmless in general than Christie, so he gets a pass. His weed stance killed it for me two years ago, or so, but it's more than that.

Given Christie's past encounters with teachers' union, I can imagine that he would cherish the opportunity to become the Secretary of Education. He could probably have the DOE in ashes within a year and be prepared to take another cabinet position for any department that needs to be gutted.

Perhaps him being in that position, in which he will no doubt make going after those States that have legalized weed a priority, will force Congress to actually review the federal law and change it. He may inadvertently force it to come to a head. Perhaps. ~Alan Acta Non Verba NRA Life Member (Patron) God, Family, Guns, Country Men will fight and die to protect women... because women protect everything else. ~Andrew Klavan

Personally, I'm more concerned with the perception of him and his stance driving away the middle and other pro (or willing to tolerate) pot folks off in droves, as I think that's more likely than an AG Christie making it his personal crusade when the President may not agree (and Trump is more pragmatist than anti, so he'd let it ride at the very least). Christie is a poison pill for the Right, IMO. A terrible gun record, staunchly anti pot...

Now he's a man I believe would make a good choice for VP. He probably isn't very much known outside of Maine though.

This would hand the election to Clinton: http://www.politico.com/story/...g-independent-219859 Conservative donors have engaged a major GOP consulting firm in Florida to research the feasibility of mounting a late, independent run for president amid growing fears that Donald Trump could win the Republican nomination. A memo prepared for the group zeroes in on ballot access as a looming obstacle for any independent candidate, along with actually identifying a viable, widely known contender and coalescing financial support for that person. The two states with the earliest deadlines for independent candidates, Texas and North Carolina, also have some of the highest hurdles for independents to get on the ballot, according to the research. “All this research has to happen before March 16, when inevitably Trump is the nominee, so that we have a plan in place," a source familiar with the discussions said. March 16 is the day after the GOP primary in Florida, a winner-take-all contest that Marco Rubio supporters have identified as a must-win to stop Trump's early momentum. The document, stamped “confidential,” was authored by staff at Data Targeting, a Republican firm based in Gainesville, Fla. The memo notes that “it is possible to mount an independent candidacy but [it] will require immediate action on the part of this core of key funding and strategic players.” Data Targeting did not respond to a request for comment on the memo. The research points to Texas and North Carolina as early tests for running an independent, conservative candidate against Trump and the Democratic nominee. The candidate would need to gather over 79,900 valid petition signatures in Texas by May 9 and over 89,000 in North Carolina by June 9. document : http://static.politico.com/4b/...nt-ballot-access.pdf folks are playing w fire

Can you think of a better way for the GOP to commit suicide? 80%+ of exit polling in New Hampshire indicated Republican voters were 'Angry', and I can't imagine that group would take kindly to the GOP establishment attempting to manipulate the nomination. ----------------------------- Guns are awesome because they shoot solid lead freedom. Hmmm. Not real sure an unnamed group of Republican donors is in fact the "GOP Establishment". I would like to see just who was actually involved. As far as the Christy endorsement goes, you better believe he will be handed a Cabinet post in a Trump administration. Not so sure about the VP slot though. AG would be pretty likely. .....never marry a woman who is mean to your waitress.
