Too old to run, too mean to quit! |
What would it take to get rid of that unconstitutional POS "rule"? Go back to the original more than 50%. Elk There has never been an occasion where a people gave up their weapons in the interest of peace that didn't end in their massacre. (Louis L'Amour) "To compel a man to furnish contributions of money for the propagation of opinions which he disbelieves and abhors, is sinful and tyrannical. Harry Reid just stated 2 weeks ago that democrats were planning to do this very thing in the Senate to get Clinton's nominations through. Turn it around on them and use it. _________________________ "Sometimes I wonder whether the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on or by imbeciles who really mean it." Actually, more than "some" Federal Judges. I believe this is the single greatest long term damage done by 0bama. List of federal judges appointed by Barack Obama Following is a comprehensive list of all Article III and Article IV United States federal judges appointed by President Barack Obama during his presidency, as well as a partial list of Article I federal judicial appointments, excluding appointments to the District of Columbia judiciary.[1] As of November 1, 2016, the total number of Obama Article III judgeship nominees to be confirmed by the United States Senate is 329, including two justices to the Supreme Court of the United States, 55 judges to the United States Courts of Appeals, 268 judges to the United States district courts, and four judges to the United States Court of International Trade.[2] The number of nominations currently awaiting Senate action is 56.[3] There is currently 1 vacancy on the Supreme Court of the United States, 13 vacancies on the United States Courts of Appeals, 80 vacancies on the United States district courts, two vacancies on the United States Court of International Trade[3] and 7 announced federal judicial vacancies that will occur before the end of Obama's second term.[4] Obama has not made any recess appointments to the federal courts. In terms of Article I courts, Obama has made 8 appointments and 2 pending nominations to the United States Tax Court, 3 appointments and 5 pending nominations to the United States Court of Federal Claims, 3 appointments to the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, 2 appointments to the United States Court of Military Commission Review, and 2 appointments to the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces. He has also elevated two chief judges of the Court of Federal Claims. On the Article IV territorial courts, he has made two appointments and one pending nomination and has elevated one judge to the position of chief judge. ------------------------------------------------------ Though we choose between reality and madness It's either sadness or euphoria

Warning NSFW Use headphones!!!! Yes, it's full of foul language, but this young black kid reflects exactly how I felt when Trump won! I'll forgive his foul language because I used a whole bunch myself yelling at the TV! I won't put the video embedded since there's lots of enthusiastic yelling. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d5VPDff6e6w

It's not a constitutional thing, it's Senate rules. A 2/3 majority is required to change a senate rule. However like I stated above, the presiding officer can suspend the rule on a vote by a simple majority vote. Once the rule was in place the appointment would be voted on and the result would be guided by a simple majority. “Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.” - John Adams

Unfortunately, Kentucky wasn't all red. The blue stain in the center of the Commonwealth is Fayette County (Lexington), and Jefferson County (Louisville) is along the Ohio River, so the color may be hard to tell too; but otherwise RED. --------------------- DJT-45/47 MAGA !!!!! Kaine already said the Dems were prepared to go this route if they won. Use their words against them. Push the judges through. They sure as hell wouldn't hesitate.[/QUOTE] Harry Reid Has 'Set the Senate' to Get Clinton Court Nominees Approved http://www.newsmax.com/Politic...016/10/24/id/755095/ Senate Democrats may enact the nuclear option for Supreme Court nominees next year if the party wins both the presidency and control of the Senate. Sen. Harry Reid, the chamber's minority leader who will soon be retired, told Talking Points Memo he has "set the Senate" to fight back against any Republican protests regarding a Supreme Court nominee. "I really do believe that I have set the Senate, so when I leave, we're going to be able to get judges done with a majority," Reid said. Under current rules, Supreme Court nominees must be approved by a 60 percent Senate vote. "It's clear to me that if the Republicans try to filibuster another circuit court judge, but especially a Supreme Court justice, I've told 'em how and I've done it, not just talking about it. I did it in changing the rules of the Senate. It'll have to be done again." Reid added, "They mess with the Supreme Court, it'll be changed just like that, in my opinion. So I've set that up. I feel very comfortable with that." In 2013, the Democrat-controlled Senate under Reid's leadership passed the nuclear option for executive branch and lower-court nominees. The move was done in the face of Republican filibusters of nominations put forth by President Barack Obama. _________________________ "Sometimes I wonder whether the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on or by imbeciles who really mean it." On Trump's web-site, under the "Second Amendment" section, listed, among other things, "National Right to Carry - Should be legal in all 50 States". He further states that this is a right, not a privilege. I hope this becomes reality!! MAGA!!!!! __________ "I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal labotomy."
