If youd have ever suggested that I was going to read 1170 pages of a thread- If you'd have suggested that I've have such a reaction to said thread, and the election its been about, I'd have told you that youre flat out nuts.

It felt good to watch that video at the Carrier plant. And it feels good to see that the man is keeping promises before he even gets into office.

If I'm not mistaken, about this time in Obama's post election, I believe he was spending time planning his apology tour around the world.

I really have a renewed hope that things are going to change for the better.

Watched Trump's rally tonight and I believe he is really going to make good on the promises he campaigned on.

Not a typical politician.

This is what always gets us in trouble. There is nothing wrong with lowering what corporations pay in taxes (whether by rate tax rate reductions or rebates). Ultimately, corporations do not pay taxes, they simply pass them along to us. I for one would argue for a 'zero' tax rate for corporations, regardless of their size.

And as to tariffs, the fed's have been essentially doing that with tax rate increases and onerous regulations for the past eight plus years, and the economy has absolutely sucked for it. You cannot beat on companies financially, making them noncompetitive, and expect them not to off shore jobs.

If Trump is successful with the agenda he ran on (i.e. reducing corporate tax rates overall, and rolling back regulations), it should energize the economy and provide real growth for a change. That's why both the stock market and the consumer optimism indexes are way up right now.

Yeah, Trump gave a great speech tonight in Ohio. He accidentally "spilled the beans" about Mattis, read the teleprompter for most of the time but went off script just enough to keep it fun.

It's so obvious to me that Trump loves these rally's that I kind of expect to see them continue on past January. OK, maybe not. Wink

You can't run an operation setting behind the desk. You have to get out and talk to people, exchange ideas and see things for yourself.

He has done a great job doing this and I think it will continue. But the Secret Service had better double their force or they will not be able to keep up with him. Big Grin

That is basically what drove Lockheed out of Burbank where it was founded in the '30's. It wasn't JUST the high cost of housing for employees, or the long commutes, or the state tax burden, or the crappy schools in the area, but the overwhelming overbearing regulation of everything. Employment regulations, building regulations, zoning, everything was "Mother, may I?" with permit fees, review fees, application fees, reassessments, boards, appeals, reviews. To move a drinking fountain in an office building required an environmental impact report, bathrooms were regulated down to the location of toilet paper holders, size and location, and handicapped access.

Marrietta, Georgia was different. Off they went.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

maybe the Clinton Foundation can use them in their charitable disaster relief efforts.

They already were effective as disaster relief in the U.S. because they weren't used.

Just replace the first "A" with an apostrophe, and then add a picture of Donald Trump.

M'dam President. Maybe put a "Not" at the top for the whiners. Not M'dam President.
