Former President Donald Trump has now been arraigned and pleaded not guilty. He was represented by two lawyers, neither of whom he apparently wants to lead his defense at trial. He has been interviewing Florida lawyers, and several top ones have declined. I know, because I have spoken to them. There are disturbing suggestions that among the reasons lawyers are declining the case is because they fear legal and career reprisals.

There is a nefarious group that calls itself The 65 Project that has as its goal to intimidate lawyers into not representing Trump or anyone associated with him. They have threatened to file bar charges against any such lawyers.

That’s utterly disgusting. And, I hope, illegal.

The Rebellion is Alive and Thriving

We live with a new type of tyranny, where we find ourselves dissidents. It is not like any previous tyranny. It is not revolutionary in nature. Instead, it operates very scientifically and technocratically by convincing those it tyrannizes to demand their own enslavement, under the guise of comfort.

Prior dissidents were at least dissidents of a tangible, kinetic revolution. We are dissidents of what the willfully tyrannized perceive as their secure position within the rightful order of things. This needs to be factored in to how we think about “converting” and “awakening” others amid the ongoing insurgency.

(Via Daily Mail) – A Fox News producer who resigned over a chyron that described Joe Biden as a ‘wannabe dictator’, has broken his silence.

Alexander McCaskill posted a photo of himself on Instagram holding a cardboard box outside the corporation’s New York offices.

He told his followers ‘Today was my last day at Fox’ and described his time there as a ‘wild 10 years’.

McCaskill is thought to have been responsible for the chyron which claimed President Biden was intent on locking up his 2024 rival, Donald Trump on Tuesday.

Fox had it on screen for less than 30 seconds, and then apologized. Dailymail.com has approached Fox News and McCaskill for comment.

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson claimed the producer had resigned during his new show, now being broadcast on Twitter, on Thursday.

He did not name the producer but The Daily Beast reported that it was McCaskill, who worked with Carlson on Tucker Carlson Tonight for many years.

McCaskill seemed to confirm news of his resignation on his private Instagram account in a lengthy post.

‘Today was my last day at FOX. It was a wild 10 years and it was the best place I’ve ever worked because of the great people I met,’ he wrote.

‘But the time has come. I asked them to let me go, and they finally did. To all my friends there: I will miss you forever.’ (read more)

Well done Mr. McCaskill, well done!

The rebellion is alive and well!

Harvard Poll: Donald Trump Leads Biden by 6, Towers over Primary Field After Indictment

Former President Donald Trump beats President Joe Biden by six points in a hypothetical head-to-head matchup and dominates the Republican primary field in the latest national Harvard/Harris poll.

The poll, which was conducted following Trump’s arraignment on Tuesday on a 37-count federal indictment, shows that 45 percent of registered voters would back him over Biden, who draws 39 percent of support. Another 15 percent are undecided:

Attorney Robert Barnes does a good job framing the motive of the DC administrative state, specifically the Lawfare ideologues currently in control of the DOJ, to create a precedent to usurp constitutional power by targeting President Trump.

Harvard Poll: Donald Trump Leads Biden by 6, Towers over Primary Field After Indictment

Apparently, neither of Hunter’s legal settlements was sufficiently newsworthy to make it to New York Time or the Wall Street Journal’s home pages, although the Journal did include an oblique reference to a suggestive editorial hazily and somewhat dismissively titled, “The Hunter Biden Business.”

Outside of controlled corporate media, the Hunter settlement story is all anyone can talk about. For example, the conservative National Review called the deal “intentionally provocative:”

The NR columnist explained a theory that the Biden Administration has weaponized the DoJ to gin up support for President Trump’s Republican nomination. They prefer to run against Trump instead of against DeSantis.

They want us to compare the underwhelming, under-reported, Hunter Biden sweetheart plea deal to Trump’s over-charged, over-reported, relentless prosecutions. It’s all a game to the democrats, who expect Republicans to rally around Trump and hand him the nomination.

https://www.coffeeandcovid.com...ack&utm_medium=email

There's no question that there's a backlash against the DOJ/FBI over-reach against Donald Trump which helps him in the Republican primary.

But the never-Trump National Review makes it out like the DOJ/FBI are evil geniuses who will choose Donald Trump as the Republican candidate.

In other words, NR looks down on its' own readers who are all Republican primary voters. They have made themselves the GOPe voice, but their readership has cratered since 2016.

“Former special counsel John Durham revealed that FBI agents have apologized to him for their handling of the Trump-Russia probe as he confirmed he saw bias among key officials in charge of the investigation like Peter Strzok.

'I have had any number of FBI agents who I've worked with over the years, some are retired, some are still in place, who have come to me and apologized for the manner in which that investigation was undertaken,' Durham revealed at the top of the high-profile Judiciary hearing.

To him, that proved that a majority of the FBI are 'good, hard-working people' who 'swear under their oaths to abide by the law.'

'Our findings are sobering,' said Durham. 'Having spent 40 years plus as a federal prosecutor, they are particularly sobering to me.' …”

An apology, especially on behalf of others, means nothing.
It certainly doesn't mean that it won't happen again.

Durham: FBI overlooked intel Clinton masterminded plot to smear Trump, treated campaigns differently

https://justthenews.com/govern..._campaign=newsletter

Former special counsel John Durham testified Wednesday that the FBI overlooked intelligence that Hillary Clinton had approved a plan to smear former President Donald Trump with Russia allegations and treated the two campaigns disparately during the 2016 election.

Durham confirmed that the CIA had received intelligence about Clinton approving a plan to make Russia allegations against Trump as a means of distracting from her classified email scandal.

The prosecutor said the FBI did not "sufficiently scrutinize information it received" and did not "apply the same standards to allegations it received about the Clinton and Trump campaigns."

“The FBI was too willing to accept and use politically funded and uncorroborated opposition research, such as the Steele dossier," he said during the House Judiciary Committee hearing. "The FBI relied on the dossier and FISA applications, knowing there was likely material originating from a political campaign or political opponent."

He told the House panel that "it's going to take time to rebuild the public's confidence in the institution" of the FBI after the agency's handling of the so-called Russia collusion probe.

Durham, appointed as a Justice Department special counsel in 2020 to investigate the matter, has said there was no evidence of collusion between the 2016 Trump presidential campaign and Russian intelligence officials when the FBI probe was launched.

"There were some individuals who clearly expressed a personal bias" against Trump, Durham told the committee, following the release in May of his final report on the now-discredited Russian collusion probe.

Under questioning from House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, Durham said former FBI Director Jim Comey withheld a referral memorandum from the agents working the Crossfire Hurricane case that contained information about then-Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's attempts to tie Trump to Russia.

The memo contained intelligence from a high-level briefing with Director of the Central Intelligence Agency John Brennan. Durham testified that then-President Obama, then-Vice President Joe Biden and then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch received the same briefing from Brennan.

"They kept key intelligence from the investigators. This is how bad this investigation was but here's the scary part: I don't think anything has changed," Jordan said.

Tennessee Democratic Rep. Steve Cohen told Durham that his reputation has been "damaged" by accepting the special counsel position to investigate the FBI's handling of the Russia probe.

"My concern about my reputation is with the people I respect, my family, and my Lord. And I'm perfectly comfortable with my reputation with them, sir," Durham responded.

Florida Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz criticized Durham for not issuing a subpoena to Joseph Mifsud.

In response, Durham said Mifsud was not located and is likely overseas and therefore could not be issued a subpoena.

Gaetz questioned why Durham's team was able to locate Mifsud's lawyer who turned over two phones but could not locate Mifsud.

He asked Durham why he didn't investigate by individuals on Bob Mueller's investigative team wiped almost 30 government phones.

"That was not something we were asked to look at and we did not look at," Durham said.

In response, Gaetz said Durham was able to investigate Mueller and his team's handling of the Russia collusion probe.

I have heard several conservative attorneys discussing this. They said it's a formality. The judge needs to set a date within 70 days of indictment to qualify as a speedy trial. The defense can (and will) waive the right to a speedy trial and file all kinds of motions that will delay it for many months.
