Another Win!!

Trump just vetoed the NDAA.

Now what are the idiots in both chambers going to do? They have been called out and have had their "work" given a failing grade.

Do you think they can get 2/3's in the house?

I don't think they will now that the filth of this document has been exposed.

If they do override, that will be one of the last nails in the Republican Party's casket.

It takes 2/3rds of both chambers to override a Presidential veto. I don’t think that is possible given the division currently.

I just read the article in the Air Force Association newsletter

I'm glad he vetoed it and I don't think they can get an override vote passed

good for him - and some dem bastard said he didn't care about the military and their families - really, the dems have been trying to dismantle the military for years and went out of their way to make sure military votes were shuffled to the garbage can

Trump Vetoes 2021 Defense Policy Bill
Dec. 23, 2020 | By Rachel S. Cohen

President Donald J. Trump vetoed the $741 billion defense policy bill on Dec. 23 after threatening to derail the bipartisan annual legislation. Congress has pledged to override the veto in votes next week.

“I am returning, without my approval, H.R. 6395 … My administration recognizes the importance of the act to our national security. Unfortunately, the act fails to include critical national security measures, includes provisions that fail to respect our veterans and our military’s history, and contradicts efforts by my administration to put America first in our national security and foreign policy actions. It is a ‘gift’ to China and Russia,” the President wrote.

The fiscal 2021 legislation authorizes $740.5 billion in spending for the Pentagon and other national security programs through Sept. 30, 2021. It hit last-minute hurdles as Trump demanded Congress include an unrelated provision to end legal protections for social media companies. He also opposes the bill over its language to start the process of renaming military installations that honor Confederate icons, like Fort Bragg, N.C.

The National Defense Authorization Act was set to become law at midnight Dec. 24 if President Donald J. Trump did not act on it sooner. Both chambers of Congress passed the bill earlier this month, starting a 10-day countdown during which the President needed to sign or reject the measure before it was automatically enacted.

The NDAA is seen as must-pass legislation because it enables specialty combat pay that affects thousands of military families, among other key provisions. It has been signed into law every year for nearly six decades with bipartisan support and the backing of the President.

The House and Senate are respectively set to return to Washington and hold override votes on Dec. 28 and 29, a House aide confirmed. Another congressional staffer said a “pocket veto”— in which a presidential rejection kills a bill because Congress is out of session and cannot override the decision—is not in play because lawmakers can accept a veto during pro forma sessions.

There’s no hard deadline to hold those override votes, the congressional staffer said Dec. 23, though the arrival of a new Congress on Jan. 3, 2021, does complicate matters. If the NDAA has not wrapped up by then, lawmakers could briefly delay gaveling in the new session until the bill is finalized. If still not done once the 117th Congress takes office, the staffer believes that a new group of lawmakers would have to retrace the steps of the legislative process to again send it to Trump’s desk.

If the NDAA is not in place by New Year’s Day, the lapse could derail funding for the Navy’s Columbia-class nuclear submarines, civilian employee pay, military construction projects, and more, the congressional staffer said. It may also halt operations at Armed Forces Retirement Homes.

Trump’s decision has frustrated Republican allies who tried to convince him to follow through on signing the bill.

“The NDAA has become law every year for 59 years straight because it’s absolutely vital to our national security and our troops. This year must not be an exception. Our men and women who volunteer to wear the uniform shouldn’t be denied what they need—ever,” Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, said in a Dec. 23 release.

Inhofe urged lawmakers to find another legislative vehicle to repeal Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act as Trump wanted to do in the NDAA.

“Trump has made it clear that he does not care about the needs of our military personnel and their families,” said Rep. Adam Smith (D-Wash.), head of the House Armed Services Committee. “If the FY21 NDAA does not become law, more than 100,000 federal employees will be deprived of the paid parental leave benefits they deserve, necessary military construction projects will not move forward on schedule, and our service members who are in harm’s way defending our country’s principles will not have access to the hazard pay they are owed.”

Defense industry players also quickly began to decry the move.

“There is no more essential duty for the American government than to ensure the safety and security of its people. The President’s veto undermines our national security preparedness and jeopardizes the jobs of Americans who make up our defense industrial base at a time when the country is in crisis,” Aerospace Industries Association President and Chief Executive Officer Eric Fanning said in a release. “We urge Congress to prioritize national security and override this veto.”

Pardons and Clemency

OAN Newsroom
UPDATED 8:18 AM PT – Wednesday, December 23, 2020

President Trump issued another round of pardons for the recent victims of politically motivated prosecutions. In a sweeping decision on Tuesday, the President pardoned 15 people and commuted the sentences of five others.

Among them were two former congressmen, Chris Collins (R-N.Y.) and Duncan Hunter (R-Calif.). Collins was sentenced to over two years in federal prison for helping his son and others dodge $800,000 in stock market losses. This came after learning that a drug trial by a small pharmaceutical company had failed. Hunter, on the other hand, was sentenced to 11 months for misusing $150,000 in campaign funds for his own personal expenses.

“I think this president knows what a political witch-hunt looks like,” Hunter said. “He saw through the political baloney, God bless him. There’s no better Christmas present, especially for my family.”

In a statement, White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany said the pardons were largely recommended by several members of Congress.

The President also pardoned former Ukraine lobbyist Alex van der Zwaan and his 2016 campaign advisor George Papadopoulos. Van der Zwaan and Papadopoulos are the third and fourth defendants in the Russia investigation to be granted clemency.

The move is part of a larger effort by President Trump to correct the wrong that special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation inflicted on half a dozen of his associates.

Additionally, the President issued pardons for four former employees of Blackwater Security Consulting, who were convicted on charges related to civilian casualties in Iraq in 2007. Other pardons and commutations involved small drug and non-violent offenses.

We're not talking about the COVID spending bill that just passed. We're talking about the defense bill that passed weeks ago.

Two different things, amigo.

No shit? Wow... Thanks for giving me no credit. I know what it is and what is in it (based on summaries I have read).

Look at the link I provided with highlighted portions of the veto letter to congress.

It is loaded with crap that Trump has been against for as long as I can remember.

The WuFlu relief bill is far worse and hope he vetos that as well.

My bad. Apologies.

Not sure the public at large though was thinking about or gives two shits about the defense bill at this point. I still fully expect the veto to be overridden.

With all of the questions and problems surrounding these things, why aren't these recounts, verifications, etc. being done with full public access?

Instead of the public being able to witness "free and fair", they're simply going to be told that it was.

I'm not a lawyer but in my opinion they can all go fuck themselves.

- I don't take orders from lawyers. Get a judge to order me.

- There's nothing to preserve. No evidence of fraud - the AG said so himself. The machines are fine, etc. Even the USSC didn't want to see any evidence.

On the other hand, if this ever did get to court, that may be the only time the actual evidence is presented.

Whatever Giuliani, Powell, and Wood have, they need to make multiple copies and spread them around.

https://www.cnbc.com/2020/12/2...i-of-litigation.html

"Dominion Voting lawyers warn Trump attorney Giuliani of litigation over alleged smear campaign, report says:

"President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani and White House counsel Pat Cipollone both have reportedly been sent letters by defamation attorneys directing them to save all records related to claims that Dominion Voting Systems played a key role allegedly swindling Trump out of an election win.

Giuliani also has been warned by Dominion’s lawyers that “litigation regarding these issues is imminent,” according to a new report by CNN, which was shown a copy of the letter.

The letters to Cipollone and Giuliani reportedly demanded that Giuliani stop “making defamatory claims against Dominion,” which makes voting machines.

Trump, his campaign lawyers and allies including attorney Sidney Powell have claimed, without evidence, that illegal vote changes made to ballot-counting machines fraudulently gave the national presidential election to Joe Biden.

Powell last week was sent a similar letter from Dominion’s lawyers about her “wild, knowingly baseless, and false accusations” about the company. The letter demanded that she retract her claims and preserve documents related to them.

Giuliani and a White House spokesman had no immediate comment when contacted by CNBC about CNN’s report. CNBC has reached out for comment from Dominion and its lawyers.

The article came on the heels of a lawsuit filed by Dominion’s security director, Eric Coomer, against the Trump campaign, Giuliani, Powell, and a number of conservative media outlets.

Coomer’s lawsuit says that he has become the target of death threats and other harmful communications because of the defendants’ false claims made about Dominion’s machines.

Dominion has posted a page on its web site entitled “Setting the Record Straight: Facts & Rumors,” to address claims about the company, which it has called “disinformation” and a threat to democracy.

“Baseless claims about the integrity of the system or the accuracy of the results have been dismissed by election authorities, subject matter experts and third-party fact-checkers,” that page says.

“Malicious and misleading false claims about Dominion have resulted in dangerous levels of threats and harassment against the company and its employees, as well as election officials.”

Biden last week was confirmed as the winner of the election by the Electoral College. Trump has refused to concede defeat."

Notice the first response to President Trump’s tweet.

Never again will I simply go along with we just have different opinions.
If you are a Democrat (Socialist) you are the enemy to America’s Constitutional Republic.
Same holds true to Deep State Republicans.

President Trump pardons Roger Stone, Paul Manafort, Charles Kushner and 23 others
Stone's pardon from the president comes after Trump earlier this year had commuted his sentence.

By Alex Nitzberg

Updated: December 23, 2020 - 8:29pm

President Trump pardoned 26 people on Wednesday, including Roger Stone, Paul Manafort and Charles Kushner, the father of the president's son-in-law Jared Kushner.

The move comes one day after the president pardoned 15 other people, among them, George Papadopoulos and former Rep. Duncan Hunter.

"Due to prosecutorial misconduct by Special Counsel Mueller’s team, Mr. Stone was treated very unfairly," according to a statement from the press secretary about the latest executive grants. "He was subjected to a pre-dawn raid of his home, which the media conveniently captured on camera. Mr. Stone also faced potential political bias at his jury trial. Pardoning him will help to right the injustices he faced at the hands of the Mueller investigation."

Stone's pardon from the president comes after Trump had commuted his sentence earlier this year.

"Today, President Trump has issued a full and complete pardon to Paul Manafort, stemming from convictions prosecuted in the course of Special Counsel Mueller’s investigation, which was premised on the Russian collusion hoax," the statement said. "Mr. Manafort has already spent two years in prison, including a stretch of time in solitary confinement – treatment worse than what many of the most violent criminals receive. As a result of blatant prosecutorial overreach, Mr. Manafort has endured years of unfair treatment and is one of the most prominent victims of what has been revealed to be perhaps the greatest witch hunt in American history. As Mr. Manafort’s trial judge observed, prior to the Special Counsel investigation, Mr. Manafort had led an 'otherwise blameless life.' Since May, Mr. Manafort has been released to home confinement as a result of COVID-19 concerns."

Charles Kushner, the father of Ivanka Trump's husband Jared Kushner, also received a pardon from the president.

"Since completing his sentence in 2006, Mr. Kushner has been devoted to important philanthropic organizations and causes, such as Saint Barnabas Medical Center and United Cerebral Palsy," the statement said. "This record of reform and charity overshadows Mr. Kushner’s conviction and 2 year sentence for preparing false tax returns, witness retaliation, and making false statements to the FEC."

First name on the list should have been Kyle Rittenhouse.

He was filling in where the Government and Law Enforcement failed to fulfill their duty to defend the citizens.

Where is Kyle’s name?
