Arizona Governor Won’t Accept Election Results Until All Lawsuits Are Settled

https://www.theepochtimes.com/...reaking-2020-11-19-2

Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey announced the state’s election isn’t over until all court cases have been settled, as the Trump campaign and state GOP filed lawsuits in Maricopa County in a bid to block officials from certifying the election results due to alleged voter irregularities and improprieties.

“There are legal claims that are being challenged in court and everybody on the ballot has certain access rights and remedies and if they want to push that they are able. Once those are adjudicated and the process plays out, I will accept the results of the election,” the Republican governor said in a news conference on Wednesday. It was the first time he held one since the Nov. 3 election.

“We can trust our elections here in Arizona,” Ducey said, but he stipulated moments later: “There are questions and those questions should be answered.”

Ducey has not called Democratic challenger Joe Biden the winner of the election. The governor noted that he heard about voting issues in the state but hasn’t personally seen any evidence.

Arizona state law gives all Arizona counties until Nov. 23 to certify the results of the election. Then, the counties are to send in their results to the Secretary of State’s office, which then has another 10 days to certify the statewide results.

While several news outlets have described Biden as the president-elect and declared him the winner, The Epoch Times has not pending the outcome of lawsuits and other processes needed to complete the election and finally declare a winner. The Electoral College votes next month, and Congress will hold its Joint Session to formally count electoral votes and declare official election results in early January.

According to unofficial projections, Biden is ahead of Trump by about 11,000 votes in Arizona.

Earlier this week, the Arizona GOP moved to halt county officials in the state to delay certifying their results.

“The party is pushing for not only the county supervisors but everyone responsible for certifying and canvassing the election to make sure that all questions are answered so that voters will have confidence in the results of the election,” said Zach Henry, a spokesman for the Arizona Republican Party, reported The Associated Press.

The party also filed a lawsuit to request a hand-count in Maricopa County, which includes Phoenix, of a sampling of ballots. They also are seeking a court order prohibiting the county from certifying results until that case is decided.

“This case is about delay—not the adjudication of good faith claims,” lawyers for Democratic Secretary of State Katie Hobbs said in response, AP reported.

Hobbs, a Democrat, also claimed Wednesday she is receiving threats of violence following the election, alleging that Trump and other GOP members are spreading misinformation. Hobbs did not provide evidence for her claims of violence.

“Their words and actions have consequences,” Hobbs said. “Now, I am calling on other leaders in this state, including the governor whose deafening silence has contributed to the growing unrest, to stand up for the truth.”

Ducey said in his news conference that the alleged threats are “completely unacceptable.”

In Michigan, Wayne County Board of Canvassers Chairperson Monica Palmer and board member William Hartmann signed sworn affidavits on Wednesday saying they only voted to certify election results this week because they were told that a full audit of the election would occur. But when they learned of no audit, they rescinded their votes to certify the results.

Both Palmer and Hartmann said they were threatened. The two were berated and accused of racism after they voted against certifying the results, said Palmer, adding that the abuse went so far as to have “threatened me and members of my family.”

Two things for me:

1. Everything Rudy is saying is factual (I presume it is) and;
2. SCOTUS will hear POTUS' argument VERY soon (as in, the first few days of Dec 2021).

Personally, and as someone with a passion for teaching, I see this as a great opportunity for all schools to be teaching these current events in their civics classes. WITHOUT BIAS.

Sadly though, I suspect 90% of the civics lessons out there for OUR high school students and those in college will be teaching "this is how Trump is attempting to steal the election; with made up facts and fraudulent witnesses."

I don't dislike the man, and in fact respect him, but, assuming for a moment that the information he presented is factually correct, his rambling presentation detracts from it, and he just doesn't seem to have the command in persuasion that he once did.

Sidney Powell on the other hand is nailing her part of the press conference presentation in hammering both Dominion and Smartmatic.

My understanding is that most other networks are not covering this press conference so most other Americans will never know what was said. Rush Limbaugh is breaking into his show to cover the press conference, however he is forced to take his frequent commercial breaks and therefore there are significant gaps in his show's coverage of it.

As we had been discussing, they have been on a major information gathering operation in multiple states. The fraud isn't just your standard ballot stuffing, harvesting, etc, which occured en masse, but also electronically switching votes from Trump to Biden, having a massive one side vote dump, and trashing valid Trump votes. They are laying out the multitude of evidence and have the witnesses and affidavits to back it up. Cheer up guys. This is going to rock the US to our core.

I'm watching this thing and wondering: Isn't this kind of investigation properly the purview of the United States Dept. of Justice?

Why the hell is U.S. Attorney General Barr, one of his deputies, FBI Director Wray, or one of his chief investigators, not doing this?

And if they feel there's a good reason they're not: Why haven't we heard from them?

Something isn't right. (Yeah, I know: Duh.)

I made a similar point probably 50 + pages back, a day or two after the election.

With so many examples of ballot fraud occurring before the election during early voting, many/ most of us assumed election fraud was going to occur. Why wasn't the Trump/ Republican team not coordinating directly with the DoJ and AG Barr to ensure that appropriate measures were in place before and during the process to ensure a fair and free election?

Behind the Scenes, Obama Never Left
Lee Smith

The publication of Barack Obama’s new memoir Tuesday was timed to carry the news cycle regardless of the election’s outcome. The opinions expressed in “A Promised Land”—on America, race, Donald Trump, and so on—are more vivid than anything the Democratic candidate has said in his last year of campaigning. And so even after Joe Biden and the press corps have declared him president-elect, he continues to walk in the shadow of his former boss.

That is intentional. Obama wants it understood that Biden is an avatar for a third Obama term. Now he can complete the work of “fundamentally transforming America,” as he put it days before the 2008 election. Hillary Clinton was expected to at least protect what she inherited from Obama. But the victory of Trump, who had campaigned on undoing Obama’s domestic and foreign policy initiatives, left the outgoing president with only two options—watch his successor dismantle his legacy or stop him.

The coup is evidence of his choice. The senior U.S. officials, Democratic Party operatives, and media personalities who targeted the Trump circle for four years weren’t simply defending the privileges of the “Deep State.” These are bureaucrats, deputies, and courtiers who would not dare an attempt that bold unless it was ok’d from above. The purpose of the coup was to block Trump from destroying Obama’s legacy until he could find an opening for him to return.

In a sense, Obama never left. He was the first president in a century to stay in Washington after the end of his term. Woodrow Wilson had suffered a stroke and could not easily leave the capital. Obama explained that he and the first lady wanted their youngest daughter to graduate from her private high school before they moved on. Their child entered the University of Michigan last fall, but with the 2020 election cycle underway, the de facto leader of the Democratic Party wasn’t going anywhere.

In political circles, it was no secret that Obama had thrown his support behind Kamala Harris. She’s ambitious and appealing and, without any strong ideas or opinions of her own, poses no threat to him. She was Obama’s ideal heir, but primary voters found her fake and unlikeable, and she was out of the race in early December. He’d find a way to restore her, but in the meantime needed a horse to ride through the primaries.

His onetime vice president rambled incoherently, dropped lines, and finished fourth in the Iowa race. Nonetheless, in the first week of March, Obama’s establishment pushed out Amy Klobuchar, Pete Buttigieg, and Elizabeth Warren to consolidate support behind Biden. In the age of coronavirus, a politician who was obviously disoriented reflected the state of the country. A voluntary shut-in was the perfect role model for Americans forced to stay home. And Obama made sure they did.

In April, he told Democratic mayors on a conference call not to re-open their cities until coronavirus testing and monitoring were available nationwide. Shutting down the economic activity of major U.S. cities would put limits on any economic rebound and thereby hamper Trump’s re-election chances. COVID-19 also became the platform for the massive vote-by-mail campaign, which Obama promoted the same month in a succession of tweets that also alerted Democratic voters that his was the hand driving the Biden campaign.

When details of the coup started to seep through the media blockade, Obama played defense. In May, he leaked part of a phone call with Democratic officials in which he expressed dismay that the Justice Department had dropped charges against Trump’s first national security adviser, Michael Flynn. He said that Flynn should be charged with perjury, a recommendation soon picked up by the judge in the Flynn case, who appointed a former prosecutor to make an argument for charging the retired three-star general with perjury.

Throughout the spring and summer, records were declassified that gave evidence of Obama’s direct role in the anti-Trump operation. They showed that in January 2017, he’d tasked James Comey to continue the FBI’s phony investigation of Flynn. They documented that John Brennan had told him in July 2016 that Clinton had greenlighted an operation to vilify Trump as a Russian agent. Months later, Obama directed Brennan to produce an intelligence community assessment replicating Clinton’s smear campaign that delegitimized not only Trump’s presidency but also an election. “Russiagate” gave rise to the special counsel investigation, which transformed into impeachment, which was replaced by the Democrats’ weaponization of the coronavirus, and the subsequent razing and looting of U.S. cities.

Whether or not Obama is now able to consolidate his legacy, the fact is that he has already carved out his singular place in U.S. history—he is the first president who interfered in the peaceful transfer of power, for four years. And it’s on his behalf that a rolling coup has pushed a nation to the edge of the abyss in order to remake it in his image.

Lee Smith is the author of the recently published book “The Permanent Coup: How Enemies Foreign and Domestic Targeted the American President.”

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
