The next question for the WHO should be: Were you lying before or are you lying now, or is this yet another extension of the ongoing lie?

^^^ the answer is yes. | |||

So they were for lockdowns before they were against them. Hmmm, where have I heard such a thing before? That's right, from a lying politician. The WHO's position is irrelevant at this point given they have zero credibility. ----------------------------- Guns are awesome because they shoot solid lead freedom. https://www.syracuse.com/coron...raise-for-walsh.html Seven takeaways from Cuomo’s new book: Upstate NY’s ‘unkind gesture,’ praise for Walsh Updated 10:56 AM; Today 10:56 AM By Kevin Tampone | ktampone@syracuse.com Albany, N.Y. — Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s new book on the coronavirus pandemic is full of red meat for the governor’s supporters. There are slights aimed at New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, plenty of Trump bashing and insidery moments that will appeal to fans of Cuomo’s briefings on the pandemic. The book, “American Crisis: Leadership Lessons from the Covid-19 Pandemic,” is out today. Here are seven takeaways of interest to Syracusans and other Upstate New Yorkers. The ventilator problem: It seems so long ago, but back in March and April, Cuomo talked about ventilators nearly every day. The state was on a hunt for thousands of the devices it expected to need when the pandemic peaked. A part of Cuomo’s plan to fill that need involved an order allowing the state to shift ventilators and other equipment from hospitals with fewer Covid-19 cases to those that were overwhelmed. That led to chatter about Downstate grabbing needed gear from Upstate and the term “Upstate Lives Matter” even began making the rounds, Cuomo noted in his book. He also said one hospital system in Western New York refused to give up its ventilators, which he describes as an “unkind gesture” that “threatened the spirit of cooperation” he was trying to build. But Cuomo praised a Capital Region nursing home that offered up its ventilators after word of the hospital’s “selfishness” became public. “I had been trying to talk to the angels, and the angels were winning; then some politicians saw an opportunity to get the devil all fired up,” Cuomo wrote. “The devil lost at the end of the day.” Syracuse mentions: Early in the book, Cuomo singles several county executives and mayors for praise. Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh was among them. Cuomo said Walsh, Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown and Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren were all capable of handling the coronavirus situation well. He also recalled his trip to Syracuse in April when a crowd of cheering nurses and doctors greeted him at the State University of New York Upstate Medical University. “It was moments like that, and they happened all over the state, that made me realize all New Yorkers were in this together,” Cuomo wrote. “It gave me great strength to go on.” Upstate conservatives: Most politicians in New York were helpful and eager to cooperate with the state’s response to the pandemic, Cuomo wrote. In fact, he said they were probably happy to let the state take the lead since the news was so bad. He did say he knew he’d have to deal pushback from “harsh conservative elected officials in Upstate New York who followed the Trump doctrine of denial.” Protests calling for a faster reopening became frequent sight at the Capitol and governor’s mansion. But Cuomo also noted that a larger Upstate-Downstate divide never really occurred. He wrote New Yorkers showed they were capable of “more goodness and more strength than they knew.” On President Trump: Cuomo talks about Trump in the book a lot. He accuses him of stoking division and criticizes his administration’s overall response to the pandemic. “Trump never pretended to be a leader who could bring the country together in a moment of national crisis. In fact, I believe he relished his role as ‘divider in chief.’ It fit his personality. He was angry and resentful, and he communicated it. Nor did Trump ever suggest he believed in government capacity or that he himself could provide government stewardship.” Ultimately, it was Trump’s son-in-law and adviser, Jared Kushner, who delivered for New York, Cuomo wrote. He called him attentive and productive and said he was the person who eventually produced protective equipment, ventilators and military personnel for the state. On nursing homes: Cuomo has faced repeated criticism over how the state handled Covid-19 in nursing homes. Thousands died and in the book, Cuomo called it the most painful aspect of the entire crisis. But he said criticism of the nursing home response in New York, New Jersey, California and other Democrat-led states was a ploy by Republicans to distract from their botched response to the pandemic. Critics, he wrote, have misstated law and policy to make it seem like the state was at fault for spreading the virus in nursing homes. He called that charge a lie. He does acknowledge the nursing home situation was distressing and wrote the state could have stopped visitation sooner. Cuomo also said a more robust federal response on testing and early warning about the pandemic was needed. His live test: One of the more memorable moments from Cuomo’s run of daily briefings on the virus was when he took a coronavirus test live in front of the cameras. The test involves a swab inserted into the nose, which can cause some eye watering, coughing or sneezing. In the book, Cuomo said his staff told him a bad reaction could set progress back months on testing. Though he came through the test with no problems, Cuomo admits he wasn’t sure he could do it. He wrote it felt like the nurse who performed the test was aiming for the back of his head and acknowledged he felt disquieted beforehand. On de Blasio: Cuomo’s relationship with de Blasio has been dissected and analyzed for years. He wrote in the book that they were (past tense) personal friends once, but that there’s always a certain amount of tension between a New York City mayor and the state’s governor. He wrote there are real issues between them now, more philosophical than personal. In the book, Cuomo claimed credit for helping to calm rioting and looting in New York City after the death of George Floyd by threatening to displace the mayor and bring in the National Guard. The night after the threat, things began to improve, Cuomo wrote. He also wrote that de Blasio was quick to make public pronouncements about the city’s response to the pandemic, even though he had no authority under the law to do so.

Just posted this link in the President Trump IV thread: Link-yes to the NYT The New York Times science writer has turned optimistic on the pandemic, says "the cavalry is coming"--thanks to the President's Operation Warp Speed--with vaccines and monoclonal antibodies that will greatly shorten epidemic and open up society. _________________________ “ What all the wise men promised has not happened, and what all the damned fools said would happen has come to pass.”— Lord Melbourne

As I mentioned in another thread, the piece of shit Cuomo still has the flags at half mast in NY. They've been that way since around March. For "the victims" of Covid. (ironic and sad considering how he's responsible for so many elderly deaths. It's in honor of his victims.) The other thing is all the electronic road signs reminding us to be afraid. He must keep us in fear! "The only thing we have to fear, is a Republican president!" I guess. Here abouts, we have a 155 million dollar covid field hospital that hasn't seen any patients. We also have a drive up testing facility. In the early days of the "pandemic", they were busy all the time. Then as summer rolled along there were less and less people being tested. Some times only a handful a day. But as we get closer and closer to the election, the testing lines in the morning get longer and longer the closer we get. I wonder what drives this? Hmmmm... Conversely, it was raining this morning and there wasn't a single car waiting in line when I drove by on my way to work. The first time this has happened since it opened this spring. Apparently rain cures covid. _____________________________________________________ Sliced bread, the greatest thing since the 1911.

Just as another data point, though anecdotal, to add to what we already knew. I won't go into too much detail, but the gist of it is this: At work, we had a "positive test", which turns out to be an employee. This employee is married to another employee here. They also have a kid here as well. The transmission seems to have been through their other kid, who was randomly tested. So the whole family gets tested. Only two of the four are "positive", the other two are not. The two "positives" are asymptomatic throughout. So you expect me to believe that a family that shares a house--including two people who share a bed--has half of them get it and the other half doesn't? And the half that has it is fine? So there are basically two conclusions: Either the test is just wrong, likely too sensitive, or this thing is hardly as contagious as we've been told. Regardless, just file that away with one more chip out of the whole bullshit pyramid. ---------------------------- Chuck Norris put the laughter in "manslaughter" Educating the youth of America, one declension at a time.

And the $$$ Cuomo makes from the book he writes should be donated to the families of anyone who lost someone after he sent people into nursing homes. And thats the problem with this BS: Weaponized politically. Monetized. End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

I did not see this exact info posted anywhere unless it was covered when cdc had announced masks don't work. A recent CDC study shows majority of people contracting the virus..."always wore masks". https://thefederalist.com/2020...onavirus-wore-masks/

The CDC in response said that they never said the mask will protect you; it is meant to protect others. Except, as Tucker pointed out, that is exactly the opposite of what the CDC Director told congress just a few weeks ago. ~Alan Acta Non Verba NRA Life Member (Patron) God, Family, Guns, Country Men will fight and die to protect women... because women protect everything else. ~Andrew Klavan "Once there was only dark. So masks magically work in 1 direction, but not the other, is that about right? Hedley Lamarr: Wait, wait, wait. I'm unarmed. Bart: Alright, we'll settle this like men, with our fists. Hedley Lamarr: Sorry, I just remembered . . . I am armed.
