Yes, as I indicated back on Page 977 of this thread, I believe I may have gotten the omicron variant. Up until that time, I had no desire to get tested, because, being asymptomatic, I felt no need. Now, however, I'm curious.

When I was having these symptoms, I said to me wife, wouldn't it be hilarious if this is COVID? She told me to not even joke like that, but she missed my meaning. I told her that there are people out there who have the antibodies for this virus but who never got very sick. I have a very strong hunch that's what has happened for me.

Seventy times more transmissible than other variants- that's omicron. Cold-like symptoms- that's omicron. Do you want to know how fatigued I was? I didn't even want to climb the one flight of steps to my bedroom in my two story home. I've never counted, but it's probably 14, 15 steps, something like that. I've run up those stairs, countless times, thousands upon thousands of times and I never felt like "Shit, I don't want to do this" until this whatever hit me.

So, I'd like to get tested. Umm, say, Joe? After your next diaper change, do you think you could send a testing kit to me?

Para

rather than get the flu test which may or may not give you the right answer, why not consider the antibody test

doesn't that give you a more definitive answer, and also the answer you need if asked about getting the flu shot

How is 'this' not the basis for a huge lawsuit?

Until they come to your house, hold you down and force the needle into your arm, you DO have a choice. The choice is not always an easy one.
As many here have said previously, the more who say NO the sooner this will be over. If you don't say NO, and simply comply, it won't end it. Next there will be mandatory "boosters".

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Pharmacys with a labcorp in it are doing it. Walgreens around here. Make an appointment, they draw blood and send you the results.

That's not free, correct? I'm not giving anyone a penny for this. I'm just curious. It's not a critical matter.

The one I had was $25.00. Don't know if the price is the same now or for all locations.

para, I'm in the same boat as you are. I took a free county test and the rapid results came back negative. Still waiting on the PCR portion which they were supposed to do also. I honestly think the radio test was wrong. Besides the normal cold symptoms, I can't taste or smell anything and it's been that way for a week. Like you, I would like to know.

ETA, someone else can confirm this, but I'm pretty sure I read the antibody test won't work if you still have symptoms.

The SC will be hearing the case against the OSHA mandate on Jan 7th, hopefully they will issue an injunction before the 10th.

It is amusing to see all of the supposed "law professors" writing opinion pieces in far-left rags that it is perfectly OK for the federal government to mandate vaccines, and then they cite a case from 100 years ago about a STATE vaccine mandate that resulted in a FINE for refusal.

Simply put, the feds have no jurisdiction over public health, and OSHA has ZERO regulatory authority over communicable diseases, EXCEPT to require employers to provide adequate PPE and workplace safeguards to prevent infection.

This is a state level issue, according to all prior case law and legislation, period.

I am reasonably sure SCOTUS will make the correct decision here. If they do not then this will be a VERY bad precedent.

I got a REALLY bad cold in late October 2019, after returning from China on October 1. My trip included a few days in Hubei province with people from Wuahan.

I thought I might have had COVID, but an antibody test a year later when I had another bad cold showed negative. Funny that working at home and following whatever places had mask requirements I still got a bad cold in the fall of 2020 but not COVID. And I got another bad cold this year too.

Winning elections any way they can. There's a reason no one has seen or heard from our Governor in Michigan for MONTHS. She's in deep shit at the polls.

Biden signs $137 million deal with German pharmaceutical company for COVID test strip factory that will take THREE YEARS to build and will start producing 83.3 million tests a month in late 2024 at the earliest

Biden administration struck a deal a German company to build a factory in Wisconsin to increase production of COVID-19 testing kits

MilliporeSigma's new factory will pump out 83.3 million tests per month – but the facility won't be operational for another three years

'Construction is expected to begin the second half of 2022 and initial planning and preparatory work is already underway,' a MilliporeSigma spokesperson said

They told DailyMail.com: 'We estimate that the facility will be capable of providing lateral flow membranes in the latter part of 2024'

Fuels speculation the administration thinks testing will still be needed in 2025

Does not fix immediate concerns of testing shortages and hours-long lines to get tested for COVID-19 as the Omicron variant sweeps the nation
Biden caught heat Wednesday with news contracts won't be finished 'until next week' for the 500 million at-home tests that he promised

There are still unanswered questions about how the at-home test distribution will work and how long it will take for the tests to arrive once ordered
