My test has come back positive. Not that I needed that to tell me I'm sick, but it confirmed what I suspected. Thanks for you feedback. Both my wife and I are not the picture of perfect health. We are both carrying extra weight, and don't always eat healthy. I would say we are likely in the group of "average Americans" when it comes to that. We did start taking extra zinc, C, and D when she first became symptomatic. I would agree that it has been similar to a flu for us. Neither of us have been feverish for more than a half a day with only a slight rise to 100.2 F . Otherwise we both experienced lower than average temperatures so far. She is beginning to regain her sense of smell after 11 days of symptoms. I'm only 7 days in so far. The loss of smell was weird for me, but I've lost a partial sense of taste too. I cannot smell or TASTE coffee and some other foods. Coffee might as well be hot distilled water. Today has been the worst of the fatigue. I've been asleep or half asleep most of the day. The last time I felt like this was with the flu several years ago during the H1N1 thing. I lost 6 days of a duck hunting trip in South Dakota to that and I slept through most of them.

Well, they act like clowns, so they may as well dress the part I guess. They are seriously mentally ill and this is just more proof.

I thought I might have had it back in the spring. I got an extremely sore throat (one of the symptoms) which lasted for four days. I've never in my life had a sore throat last that long, except perhaps when I had my tonsils removed as a kid. Otherwise, I was symptom-less, no fever or other signs. Then a month later, I had the same sore throat thing again. It was enough to prompt me to take the blood test for antibodies a month ago, when they started being widely offered. I actually took two, one a UofAZ study, and the other ordered by my PCP, so two different test protocols. Both came back negative for antibodies. When in doubt, mumble

Although I don't watch the regular news, friends of mine tell me here in Indiana and Illinois the covid numbers are going way up. Naturally I'm skeptical and wonder how many people are really "sick". But my main question is: obviously, with numbers increasing, that means increased testing. How and why are so many people getting tested now? Are some of these numbers actually made up? I'm sure its mostly politically motivated. Are people in great numbers really getting tested?

China-virus tests are becoming more readily available, even Costco is now selling them and quite a few people are petrified that they might be infected and want to know one way or the other; of course, the tests are not exactly accurate.

Yes, people are getting tested, and being tested multiple times. If you live in a "quarantine" state, companies in CYA mode are requiring either 14 day isolations or a negative test before coming back to work after an out of state trip. In any given year 50-60 million cases of flu occur. But lets all panic about 2 million cases of essentially a different variant of the same old thing.

No, not like Bill Clinton |
I heard a freaking advertisement today for FREE covid testing. "come on out, leave your cash at home, we are super fast" It was a company, didn't catch the name. Spike in cases before the election anyone?

With fall now in full swing, I am gonna bet that every sneeze, sniffle, cough and fart are gonna send many people into a panic to see if they got the WuCrud. And that means a lot of folks at the ER. The hype creates the drama that overwhelms the health care world and makes the news crews orgasmic. Yeah, real people get real sick, and the BS and hype makes it harder for those who truly need attention to get proper attention. Those like Fauci should be ashamed of themselves for violating the oath they swore. They and their involvement of this thing has been far more damaging than the illness, and the healthcare folks in the trenches would have had a good hand on this thing without all the damned meddling. Fauci is an academic who believes his own BS. I try to think the best of folks, but he has been in government for so long he only knows big government. I’d like to say he is gone Nov. 4th, but unleashed he would continue to do damage. He needs to be assigned to study Hanta virus in the middle of BFE or something like that. “Forigive your enemy, but remember the bastard’s name.” -Scottish proverb

Fauci was with Shep Smith on his pathetic new show. Shep: "Melbourne locked down for 111 days and now today has 0 cases. Why can't we do that?" Fauci: "Well, there's very little appetite for lockdowns in this country." You damned right, you techno-fascists. We're Americans. Probably on a trip |
I would also say “The virus is gonna do what it’s gonna do.” Lock down all you want, the only way out is herd immunity or to let it burn out. Melbourne can not survive isolated from the rest of the world forever. We should have been like Sweden and Georgia. Protect the vulnerable, let everyone else get on with life. Sorry for the rant. On a trip right now - in Japan stuck in a hotel. Supposed to go to Paris in a couple of days which was normal but is back on lockdown. The entire world has lost it’s mind. If no one in Melbourne has it, why are they still locked down? What other metric would they have to meet before restrictions would be lifted?
