New Mexico still has the face mask mandate, and today was our primary.

The governor and her commie gang have been pushing for absentee ballots cause of the commie crud.
I even received an unsolicited application for an absentee ballot.
So I went to vote and our normal place is locked up, sign on door says no voting at this location due to covid, but listed where to go.
I showed up without any mask and the welcome lady told me it's a law now and mask are required, but I can vote without a mask or she could give me one. I told her I'll take my chances and I don't want your mask.
No ID needed, tell her my name address, she gives me a popsicle stick to sign a electronic pad and tells me to throw it out after. I vote and then the pen I used had to go in a pail marked contaminated. A little over the top.

Reported cases means nothing. Wonder how accurately they're recording deaths there, or if their numbers are complete BS like New York's are.

Fret not though, I just hit the main YouTube page to search a video and their Covid section is back to 100% sowing of fear based upon all the protesters/rioters not adhering to social distancing while doing their thing. There's gonna be bodies laying in the streets and hospitals overflowing with virus sufferers. Hmmm, where have I heard that before.... Roll Eyes

That is required under executive order until Thursday. Until then only 10 customers per store and you must have an appointment

I dunno, Perhaps the higher number reported cases are due to the higher number of available tests, testing centers, and people being tested is contributing to the results.

But we wouldn't want to consider these facts when making an analogy

I can't grasp limiting the number of customers to ten at a time or a number based on store square footage as Home Depot is apparently doing. What if all the allowed customers congregate in one aisle? Roll Eyes

Went into three stores in Michigan and nobody said anything about my not wearing a mask. In two of the store, the employees weren't even wearing masks.

My daughter mentioned the 10 person thing. That's nuts. On the other hand, I did get parking spots almost right up front:

New cases mean nothing in deciding if the virus is spreading faster without knowing the number of people being tested.

Around here they have increase testing. I would expect to see a corresponding rise in reported cases.

Deaths are another thing but I like to see numbers from nursing homes and ages of the deaths to understand better how things are trending. I saw one report where about half of the deaths are in nursing homes. If you look at the number of people living in those homes vs the rest of the population the death numbers for the rest of the country are so low.

I haven't worn a mask in a store, save once, in the last two weeks.

Latest info for Florida (population over 21 million people) and 1,306 (over half) of the deaths were nursing homes and assisted living facilities:

Yet if you consider the number of elderly in Florida (larger number than in New York), 1,306 isn't a large percentage of that demographic. Florida has done pretty well at trying to protect the most at risk.

Don't forget that those of us that somehow miraculously survived will be saddled with currently unknown deleterious effects that will manifest themselves at some point in the future. No one is safe! We all have to do our part!

Maybe correct. My investment account is nearly back to its pre-COVID-19 level.

“The worst of the COVID-19 recession is over after May job losses were less than Wall Street had predicted, according to a new economist report.

On Wednesday, ADP National Employment Report revealed that companies lost 2.76million jobs last month. While that number is startling, it’s well below the 8.75 million jobs estimated to be lost for the month.

'The good news is I think the recession is over, the COVID-19 recession is over, barring another second wave, a major second wave, or real serious policy errors,' Mark Zandi, the chief economist at Moody’s Analytics said to CNBC.”

With the exception of the idiots running St. Louis County though, they're still cowering in their basements.
