I am friends with one of my wife’s college friends on Facebook, and she proudly posted photos today of her five-year-old child with a mask on, on an outing to a store, explaining how he has not been out of the house in three months or had any interaction with anyone else since then. As if she’s proud of screwing up her kid like that. Eek My children, age 3 and 5 have been together with their cousins and certain other friends since March, and have had zero issues, it’s just not healthy to keep them isolated like that, I cannot believe some people. Confused

De Blasio claims spike in COVID-19 hospitalizations not linked to massive protests . Ok clear this up for me please. Thousands of people packed into the streets yelling, singing and chanting is bad but a Jewish funeral or people protesting being imprisoned in their house will kill grandma. Ok.... Roll Eyes

I wouldn't post a link to CNN story for factual insight to reality, except in this case where they seem to be verifying what I've said for years; People are stupid!

A third of Americans surveyed engaged in risky cleaning behaviors during the Covid-19 pandemic. Some have even gargled with bleach.

quote:
People have put bleach their food. Others have gargled or inhaled it. And some have washed their bodies with household cleaning and disinfectant products.

Of course I have a SIL who has warned me not to keep hand sanitizer in the car since it may spontaneously combust. Seen it on the internet. I get that a 70% alcohol mixture is flammable, but only if open, exposed to flame/spark or if interior of car reaches 500 degrees or more.

I followed the thread early but not so much lately.

Have any members contracted it and post first hand experiences?

I contracted it this week symptoms began last night. I was tested and it was positive.

This virus is an ass kicker. Fever at 101.7 - 101.5 without tylenol. I am absolutely exhausted. This is easily as bad as the worse flu I have ever had.

I have never lost time before, I am so lethargic I drift off the sleep and drift back to consciousness without realizing I was sleeping. I look at the time and an hour passed, and I didn't realize it.

Keep track of your O2 levels in case they drop down below 90%. If they do, get to the hospital before it gets worst. https://www.amazon.com/oxygen-...n+saturation+monitor

I'd be more concerned because, since you're on the East Coast, it is likely that you have the more virulent Italian strain

From a bored friend, most are new and mostly good. They're free so don't complain... Razz

I hope they give us two weeks notice before sending us back out to the real world. I think we'll all need the time to become ourselves again. And by "ourselves" I mean lose 10 pounds, cut our hair and get used to not drinking at 9:00 a.m.

New monthly budget: Gas $0 Entertainment $0 Clothes $0 Groceries $2,799.

Breaking News: Wearing a mask inside your home is now highly recommended. Not so much to stop COVID-19, but to stop eating.

Low maintenance chicks are having their moment right now. We don't have nails to file and paint, roots to dye, eyelashes to re-mink, and are thrilled not to have to get dressed every day. I have been training for this moment my entire life!

When this quarantine is over, let's not tell some people.

I stepped on my scale this morning. It said: "Please practice social distancing. Only one person at a time on scale."

Not to brag, but I haven't been late to anything in over 6 weeks.

It may take a village to raise a child but I swear its going to take a vineyard to home school one.

I wanted zombies and anarchy. Instead we got working from home and toilet paper shortages.
Worst Apocalypse Ever!

You know those car commercials where there's only one vehicle on the road - doesn't seem so unrealistic these days.

They can open things up next month, I'm staying in until July to see what happens to you all first.

Day 37: The garbage man placed an AA flyer on my recycling bin.

The spread of Covid-19 is based on two things:
1. How dense the population is.
2. How dense the population is.

Appropriate analogy: "The curve is flattening so we can start lifting restrictions now" = "The parachute has slowed our rate of descent, so we can take it off now".

People keep asking: "Is coronavirus REALLY all that serious?" Listen y'all, the churches and casinos are closed. When heaven and hell agree on the same thing it's probably pretty serious.

Never in a million years could I have imagined I would go up to a bank teller wearing a mask and ask for money.

Home school Day 1: I'm trying to figure out how I can get this kid transferred out of my class.

Putting a drink in each room of my house today and calling it a pub crawl.

Okay, the schools are closed. So do we drop the kids off at the teacher's house or what?

For the second part of this quarantine do we have to stay with the same family or will they relocate us? Asking for myself ...

The dumbest thing I've ever bought was a 2020 planner.

I was in a long line at 7:45 am today at the grocery store that opened at 8:00 for seniors only. A young man came from the parking lot and tried to cut in at the front of the line, but an old lady beat him back into the parking lot with her cane.

He returned and tried to cut in again but an old man punched him in the gut, then kicked him to the ground and rolled him away.

As he approached the line for the 3rd time he said, "If you don't let me unlock the door, you'll never get in there."

Enjoy your day. You don't have anything else to do.

Well, some dentists tell their patients to gargle with Dakin's solution. It contains bleach. Not a lot, but it does haver some.

I've been sending daily messages to Costco about their mask requirement and Amazon regarding their political correctness (blm). Sometimes they reply and sometimes they don't.

If a few million people did the same, everyday, the message may get through to those in charge of the nonsense...

Man, you got that right.

Went to an outdoor farmer's market late this morning. I'd say about 75% of the people there were wearing masks. Outdoors

And it wasn't as if there were even that many people there. There were not. Plus it was a warm, sunny day with a light breeze.

Beyond satire... The political-media-medical-industrial has mastered doublethink. Hey folks - it’s a concept in a dystopian novel, not a system of government.

“The power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one's mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them... To tell deliberate lies while genuinely believing in them, to forget any fact that has become inconvenient, and then, when it becomes necessary again, to draw it back from oblivion for just as long as it is needed, to deny the existence of objective reality and all the while to take account of the reality which one denies—all this is indispensably necessary. Even in using the word doublethink it is necessary to exercise doublethink. For by using the word one admits that one is tampering with reality; by a fresh act of doublethink one erases this knowledge; and so on indefinitely, with the lie always one leap ahead of the truth.“

The black female head of the AMA said explicitly that the risk to public health of the virus pandemic has to be balanced against the known risk to public health of the epidemic of police brutality.

So 1000 mostly-justified killings by police each year, with less than 50 against "unarmed" suspects (many of which may still be justified) is a grave risk to public health? So much so that the pandemic that was predicted to kill hundreds of thousands of Americans can be forgotten for a little while to protest? Oh, she said they should wear masks.

And other health experts are now saying that the risk of transmission outside is 18x lower than transmission inside, so the protests are not so risky. Really? Two weeks ago the opening of beaches and lake parties were going to lead to "blood on the hands" of the governors that allowed them. Not to mention people and families alone outside in parks or surfing or on boats were arrested!
