The New York Times is keeping a map updated with total infection numbers given at a state level, but with graphical indications (red circles, size of the circle = number of cases) at the county level. You can't zoom in and out or see the actual county names, but I haven't found anything with more detail.

The 1point3 acres sight mentioned above lists numbers by state. If you click on the state name it gives a breakdown of the same numbers by county name below the state entry.

Good info.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Has anyone seen any reports of reinfection of the virus by someone who has had the disease?

Thanks, guys.

~sigh~ Yeah, it's very likely I'll have to cancel. Bummer. The amount of money the economy is hemorrhaging right now must be huge.

That was published February 27th. You would think we would have heard more about this since then.

The thinking now concerning reinfection is that such cases were false positives or premature releases:

My wife wants to cancel, but I don't. I have a feeling that the decision might be made for us real soon though. Our flight for instance is now nearly empty.

A lot of my friends are at the Rio right now for one of the largest pool tournaments in the world, maybe the largest

The ones I’ve talked to said it was business as usual with a lot of hand sanitizer, crowd/participants maybe 20% down

I heard Dr Fauci say the forecast estimate is that the infected population would double every 6 days.

This is the paper that statement is based on. Mathematical analysis beyond my understanding.

https://www.thelancet.com/jour...(20)30260-9/fulltext

But based on the data from China, the prediction is

epidemic doubling time = 6.4 days

Every infected person infects another 2.7 people

xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

These numbers can be influenced with the types of controls such as quarantine, travel limits, crowd avoidance, closing events where large numbers of people gather, etc.

so my interest in tracking JHU data over time is to see how fast the virus spreads over the U.S.

That is why data from today, even so limited, is important to establish a baseline that will become part of the data set that will build over the next few weeks and months.

Certainly more extensive testing will impact the data also.

In Italy, 35 people under 60 died yesterday.

I’ve been following a 40 year old male in the ICU in Rome,Ga as he broadcasts daily from his quarantined room. His account of his progression, which is finally improving is very sobering.

Well, shit's gotten real now. Most of the ski resorts are closing after today. Since my little girl doesn't have school now for two weeks, I thought, "great, time for her and me to get in a lot of skiing together and get out of the house for some fresh air." Guess again. Roll Eyes

Got an email earlier today from Vail Resorts, and they're stayin' open! Maybe one of their resorts is within striking distance.... Wink

A Message to our Guests:

As a global operator of 37 ski resorts, Vail Resorts continues to monitor the rapidly evolving impacts of coronavirus (COVID-19) from all angles. Unwaveringly and without question, our top priority is the health and wellbeing of our guests and employees. We are fortunate to have strong partnerships with the communities where we operate and we are closely monitoring the statements and following the guidance and recommendations from local, state/provincial and federal health agencies on COVID-19.

All of our North American resorts are open as scheduled, and operating according to the most updated guidance and precautions from health officials.

Over the course of the weekend, we will begin to deploy specific actions to encourage social distancing and to slow the spread of COVID-19. Actions include:

We are reducing operations at our on-mountain, quick-serve dining facilities to avoid crowding.
We will have limited pre-packaged food options available, but we will not be serving hot food. Please plan accordingly.
We will ask guests to ride on chairlifts and gondolas with their parties only. We ask for our guests’ patience while we implement this new protocol.
We will post signage with social distancing reminders and our employees will be on site to help encourage safe protocols.
We are aware that there are event restrictions in place across many states, provinces and counties where we operate. We are – and will continue to – follow all official guidance and cancel or postpone events as directed. Updates will be posted on resort and event websites.
We will continue following the most updated guidance and precautions from health officials, with attention to the cleanliness and the environment of our facilities.
We continue to ask our guests and employees to follow public health officials’ guidance of frequent handwashing and to stay home if they are feeling ill. Health officials advise that people at higher risk of severe illness, including those who are 60 years or older, should stay home and away from larger groups of people as much as possible.

We are in constant contact with health officials and will continue to follow their updated guidance as provided. This means there could be additional precautions taken that could impact our operations at any time.

Again, the health and wellbeing of our guests, employees and the communities where we live, work and play is of utmost importance. We thank everyone for their understanding during this unprecedented time.

We also understand that many guests are concerned about traveling during this evolving situation and we encourage guests to refer to our standard cancellation policies posted online. Guests with reservations at Vail Resorts owned and operated lodging properties – who are due to arrive prior to April 30 – can apply the dollar amount of their deposit to a future stay at the same property for up to 365 days from the date of arrival. Additionally, guests with reservations at these properties can rebook the same dates at another resort, based on availability and at the applicable rate. Cancellation and date change policies through third party lodging and booking partners will vary by property. Guests should reach out to their reserved lodging property or reserved booking source if they need to discuss changes.

You may want to check again. That's old news.

The closing for now is until March 22nd where they will "reassess the situation." All Vail North American ski resorts are suspending operations

This site has an excellent presentation of the data, updated daily, with interactive graphs over time for the world or by country, on a linear or logarithmic plot, of total cases, active cases, total deaths, and several other things, as well as the more basic spreadsheet-type layouts.

e.g., data through yesterday for the US:
