Yesterday, Politico wrung its hands into splinters in an angst-laden article headlined, “The anti-vaccine movement is on the rise. The White House is at a loss over what to do about it.” The sub-headlined promised, “This is the first story of a five-part series diving into the rise of the anti-vaccine political movement.” Early this morning, right on schedule, Politico published its second installment, this one alarmingly headlined, “‘We’re going to lose lives’: Health experts decry rise of vaccine skepticism.” Hey, look on the bright side. Maybe we’ll lose expert lives. Haha, just kidding. The article’s emotional sub-headline fretted, “Some worry that only a national tragedy will turn the current trend around.” They’re fretting about you. And — according to Politico — you have gone mainstream, baby: The mainstreaming of a once-fringe movement has horrified federal health officials, who blame it for seeding dangerous conspiracy theories and bolstering a Covid-era backlash to the nation’s broader public health practices. The article begins by insinuating that gullible fools like yourselves were deluded, but not by monstrous government overreach and an especially nasty form of mass hallucination that its psy-experts intentionally discharged under cover of so-called “public health programming.” No, Politico says you’ve been deluded by Robert Kennedy, Jr., and by dark GOP forces who slipped off the leash when the judge in Missouri v. Biden shut down the federal government’s censorship machine. But Politico’s bad news, delivered using as somber and ominous of a tone as that silly rag can muster, is our good news. What Politico sees as ‘horrifying’ trends, we count as accomplishments. In Politico’s words (lightly edited for clarity): For decades, being openly skeptical of vaccines made one a pariah in all but the smallest of political circles. To cast doubt on them placed you on the fringe. But public health officials fear those days are increasingly numbered. As another Covid vaccination campaign gets underway, fewer Americans than ever have kept up to date on their shots. Just 20 percent of adults got last year’s (booster) shot, according to CDC data, down sharply from the 79 percent who received their initial series of vaccinations in 2021. Child vaccination rates against the flu are measurably lower than before the pandemic… vaccination rates for kindergarteners dropped for the second consecutive year. The anti-vaccine movement has historically found a home among both libertarians and the far-left. (But) recent polling shows Republicans are now more than twice as likely to believe the shots should be optional than they did in 2019. Democrats… overwhelmingly favor childhood vaccine requirements. The paranoid hypochondriacs, I mean public health experts, are pulling what’s left of their hair out. First covid, now this. Politico quoted lockdown-worshipping maskaholic Dr. Lawrence Gostin, a Georgetown University public health professor who advises the White House, who tearfully but angrily warned, “Diseases that we once thought had ended will roar back and kids will get sick and die from 100 percent preventable conditions.” You’ll be sorry if you don’t listen to us. Permanently-disheveled bowtie advocate and pharma shill “doctor” Peter Hotez, somehow still employed as a virologist at Baylor’s College of Medicine, took a short break from counting his covid money and sighed that questioning vaccines has “now become a politically motivated movement.” In his multiple books about the so-called anti-vaccine movement, Hotez argued that vaccine skepticism has become part of conservatives’ political worldview. But for some reason, despite that Hotez says he’s tried to cure conservatives of their delusions, nobody will listen to him: “I can’t get any engagement out of anybody.” Dr. Umair Shah, Washington state’s secretary of health, was yet more blunt and apocalyptical. She sees vaccine hesitancy leading to the End of Days. “This is the beginning of a really rough and tough time,” Shah told Politico. “People are going to get sick. We’re going to lose lives.” The long-form article made one main point: the White House needs to do something. But Politico glided right over two gigantic flaws in its argument: first, why is it the White House’s job to sell pharma’s products? And two, Politico’s articles never discussed the two categories of lived experiences actually fueling people’s so-called skepticism: covid shot side effects and jab mandates. If it’s not that, then Politico should explain how conservatives became vaccine skeptical, when it was a massively-popular Republican President who was originally responsible for the shots? In more good news, sort of, Politico admitted that at least some public health experts realize that a lot of people hate them now. Dr. Dean Sidelinger, Oregon’s state health officer, told Politico, “I may be a trusted messenger for, hopefully, a large segment of the population, but I am not the trusted messenger for everyone.” No doubt. https://www.coffeeandcovid.com...7n3&utm_medium=email "Some things are apparent. It’s extremely rare! On September 23rd, Alaska Airlines pilot Eric MacRae died suddenly and unexpectedly in his sleep in his HOTEL ROOM during a layover. As far as I can tell, there’s a complete news blackout on Eric’s death, except for a small note on Alaska Airlines’ website. Thanks to the pilot death news embargo, I couldn’t determine Eric’s age, but he looks young and the other available facts seem to confirm that. Presumably, Eric would have gotten behind the stick the next morning when he could have had his heart attack during flight. Update: commenters reported that Freedom Flyers says Eric was 37. Eric leaves behind two young children and his wife Chael, an Alaska Airlines Flight Attendant. **** Award-winning Ontario mRNA researcher Jerry Pelletier, PhD, 61, died this weekend after a short battle with cancer, which ironically was his area of research speciality. Not much has been reported about his death. In life, Jerry was a “pioneer” in mRNA cancer treatment. Canada featured particularly strict covid shot mandates for academics and healthcare professionals, and one would assume that Jerry was a fan of mRNA treatments like the covid jabs. You’d think since he was a cancer researcher, there’d be a little more interest in his ironic death from cancer. Not only isn’t Jerry’s type of cancer or his diagnosis mentioned anywhere, there also aren’t any news reports I could find of him getting cancer in the first place, leading me to conclude it came on quickly. **** Yesterday the UK Sun ran a story headlined, “GONE TOO SOON Maddy Cusack death updates — Sheffield United star dies at 27 after signing new deal as cause not yet revealed.” The young soccer phenom died AT HOME on September 20th, but — typically — no cause of death has been released. Maddy had just signed her biggest sports contract yet. Tributes for the deceased star were held across Britain during this weekend’s games. This morning, the Derbyshire police issued a statement about Maddy’s death: “We were called to a property in Lady Lea Road, Horsley, just after 6.35pm on Wednesday 20 September. A woman, in her 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family are aware and are being supported by specialist officers. Early on, Maddy starred in a pro-vaccine commercial encouraging folks to get the jabs. Now we arrive at celebrity vaccine scientist Dr. Paul Offit, a central figure on the FDA’s vaccine advisory committee, the one that approved the jabs for kids without any debate. Call me naive, but I was actually reassured when Dr. Offit’s name first came up, back in the halcyon days of the early pandemic, back when I still believed the government had some idea it knew what it was doing. After all, I had read Dr. Offit’s book, “Pandora’s Lab: Seven Stories of Science Gone Wrong.” In the book, Offit described all kinds of horrible mistakes that science plus government has made over the years, such as by repeatedly approving successive generations of opioids for pain treatment, each one more destructive than the last. I figured if anyone understood the potential for the horrifying long-term risks inherent in hasty, politically-driven drug approvals, it would be Dr. Paul Offit. He also has a calm, capable, grandfatherly way of explaining things that is soothing and very reassuring. For example, last year in this clip Dr. Offit explained to jab takers why they didn’t need to worry about any long-term side effects from the covid jabs: We also know historically when you look at vaccines and you find safety problems — and certainly, there have been safety problems, severe safety problems associated with vaccines — they virtually always been found within two months of getting the vaccine, and now we have really two years worth of data. And I don’t think there are going to be any surprises at this point. And that’s why it’s important to be vaccinated. Thank you. See? Just wait two months and you’ll be fine. Or at least, that was 2022 science. Now it’s 2023, the Science™ is evolving. Yesterday, Dr. Offit published a new video clip, in which he explained his rationale for not getting the new and improved booster shot. Wait till you hear this: What the CDC needs to do is they need to tell us who is getting hospitalized this year and who’s dying. What are their ages? What — exactly — are their co-morbidities? Did they get a vaccine? If so, when was their last dose? More importantly, did they get an antiviral? I’ll take myself as an example. I’ve had three doses of the Wuhan-1 strain. My last dose was in November of 2021. I had a mild, two-day infection in May of 2022. I think I’m protected. I didn’t get last year’s bivalent vaccine. I’m not getting this year’s vaccine. I would like the CDC to answer those questions. One thing that kind of bothers me a lot is when people say, well, there’s no downside. First of all, whenever you take any medicine or any biological, there’s a downside. If there’s an upside, they’ll have a downside. The downside may be rare. It may be um, very rare. But nonetheless, there’s ALWAYS a downside. And we’re going to find out about this vaccine over time. It is a novel strategy. We certainly were surprised by myocarditis, and pericarditis. And you’ll see whether or not, over time, you know, when we’re five years into this, ten years into this, fifteen years into this, whether there’s any evidence of residual myocardial disease. Because the reason you have myocarditis is you’re making immune response to your own heart muscle. I mean, it appears to be generally transient and short-lived, but there’s invariably a spectrum of disease, and we’ll find out about that over time. It’s perfectly reasonable to take those risks if the benefits are clear. But when the benefits aren’t clear, then it’s not so reasonable to risk, even rare risk. Sadly, some people could have used the information that “there’s ALWAYS a downside” and “we’ll find out the side effects over time.” Opinions, like viruses, evolve. But some people (like your humble author) shared Dr. Offit’s questions for the CDC — but we had those questions back in 2021. And we wondered about the long-term side effects back in 2021. Back when the government swore the jabs were the safest, most studied drugs in history. But now the narrative is shifting. Again! Mark your score cards. https://www.coffeeandcovid.com...ack&utm_medium=email "Some things are apparent. Remember when HCQ (HydroChloroQuinine) was a safe drug given to everyone in malaria infested areas and the first go to drug for RA? And then it became a possible treatment for Covid, due to lab research by the NIH? And then it was SO dangerous that you couldn’t give it to anybody and it did nothing to treat Covid? Now, Mayo Clinic says it CAN be used to treat Covid after all! It’s a miracle!

Wait, what? |
More evidence that Americans are tired of playing big pharma’s game. In a recent poll from CNN of all places, the new Covid “vaccine” is not on the to-do list across the country- including a significant portion of the screeching crazies that previously DEMANDED you get the poison. They will, of course, lie and say they are part of the 25% that say they will but the numbers won’t add up in the end. In the article, blame for low uptake is blamed on insurance problems, availability, etc but the reason is obvious; even the left leaning Karen’s are tired of the nonsense. https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2023/0...ff-survey/index.html Only about 1 in 4 American adults definitely wants the updated Covid-19 vaccine, new survey finds When it comes to the updated Covid-19 vaccines, only about 1 in 4 American adults says they definitely plan to get the shot, according to a new survey from the nonprofit health policy group KFF. Roughly another quarter of adults say they will probably get the shot. On the other side of the coin, 33% of adults say they definitely do not plan to get the new vaccines, and another 19% say they probably won’t. Taken together, the survey finds, slightly more Americans say they don’t intend to get the new vaccines than those who do. The findings, published Wednesday, come from the latest installment of the Covid-19 Vaccine Monitoring poll, which was designed and analyzed by public opinion researchers at KFF. The survey was conducted from September 6 to 13 among a nationally representative sample of 1,296 adults. It offers one of the first looks at what uptake of the new Covid-19 shots might look like in the US. “I think this indicates that we have our work cut out for us,” said Dr. William Schaffner, an infectious disease expert at Vanderbilt University who wasn’t involved with the survey. Schaffner said he sees hope in the middle, the groups who haven’t committed one way or another. “There is a little glimpse of optimism in the sense that we have about 40% of the population that can be persuaded, convinced, reassured, comforted to receive this vaccine,” he said. But, he said, they’re also the most vulnerable to hurdles and inconveniences like the insurance and supply problems that have hamstrung the vaccine’s rollout in its early days. Schaffner said these in-betweeners were going to get vaccinated only “If we make it quick and easy and don’t put any barriers out there, and we go out there and reach these people and motivate them.” Those negative attitudes extend to new shots for children, too. Only about 40% of parents in the survey say they intend to get the new Covid-19 vaccines for their kids and teens. The vaccines have been updated to help the body fight off the latest variants of the virus that causes Covid-19. Their arrival comes amid an uptick in infections, hospitalizations and deaths. They have also arrived in the midst of widespread Covid-19 fatigue. Only about 17% of Americans got their bivalent booster, the first update to the shot that was authorized last fall, according to the last update of US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data in May. The new KFF survey found that the share of the public who intends to get the new Covid-19 vaccine is higher than the share who have received previous booster shots but not as high as initial vaccine uptake in 2020. Reflecting patterns from earlier vaccine rollouts, the groups most likely to say they were definitely or probably going to get the new shots were those 65 and older (64%) and Democrats (70%). Most people who’ve gotten Covid-19 vaccines before said they would get the new shot too, but almost 4 in 10 (37%) people who previously received a Covid-19 vaccine say that they probably or definitely won’t get the new version. Dr. Peter Hotez, a vaccine expert at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital, said many people aren’t getting the new vaccines because they don’t know that they need them. “In addition to the usual vaccine hesitancy, there are two new problems,” he said. First, people don’t understand “why this booster is different from the last and why you need it – because it’s specifically targeting these new variants.” Second, people haven’t gotten the message that “even if you’ve been immunized before, that if you haven’t been boosted in a while, you’re still at risk of hospitalization,” Hotez said. The rocky first few weeks of fall vaccination campaign haven’t helped, either. “It’s really clear from all the anecdotes that I keep hearing that the very earliest days of trying to make these vaccines accessible has not been smooth,” Shaffner said. He added that he hoped these issues would soon be fixed. “But by then, I hope we have not alienated and annoyed a substantial number of the most committed people,” he said. “Remember to get vaccinated or a vaccinated person might get sick from a virus they got vaccinated against because you’re not vaccinated.” - author unknown

Biden FDA Vaccine Adviser Refuses Latest Covid Shot, Raises Concerns over Heart Failure Spike https://beckernews.com/biden-f...failure-spike-51752/ The refusal of the Biden administration’s FDA vaccine adviser to receive the most recent vaccine dose is spurring concerns that it may be related to the observed increase in cases of heart failure. One of the leading vaccine advisors within the Biden administration declined to receive the most recent Covid vaccination while expressing concerns regarding the potential long-term consequences associated with mRNA injections. Dr. Paul Offit serves as a prominent consultant on the vaccines committee of the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA). He is also a distinguished American physician who possesses expertise in the fields of infectious illnesses, vaccinations, immunology, and virology. He has also made significant contributions as a co-inventor of a rotavirus vaccine, establishing their expertise in the domains of virology and immunology. In a video shared on the social media platform Twitter by the prominent account “Chief Nerd,” Offit expressed that he did not receive the bivalent vaccine from the previous year and has no intention of receiving the vaccine for the current year. Offit further discusses his conviction that he is “immunologically safeguarded” and does not need additional jabs. Subsequently, he proceeds to warn citizens against the increase in severe adverse effects, particularly myocarditis. “I think I’m protected. I didn’t get last year’s bivalent vaccine. I’m not getting this year’s vaccine because I think I have high frequencies of T-cells…We’re going to find out about this vaccine over time. It is a novel strategy. We certainly were surprised by myocarditis and pericarditis and we’ll see whether or not over time when we’re 5 years into this, 10 years into this, 15 years into this, whether there’s any evidence of residual myocardial disease because the reason you have myocarditis is you’re making immune response to your own heart muscle,” he said, adding, “We’ll find out about that over time.” The medical adviser couches his opinion by saying that the whole methodology of mRNA vaccinations is innovative approach and that scientific researchers are gradually gaining a much better understanding of the coronaviruses being targeted. Dr. Offit has previously expressed support for the Covid vaccines as well as the implementation of vaccine mandates, which have compelled a substantial number of individuals in the United States to get the vaccinations or risk employment termination. In his forceful defense of the initial vaccine mandate implemented in New York City during the summer of 2021, Offit expressed his view to CNN: “It is not your right as an American citizen to catch and transmit a potentially fatal infection.” Of course, the Covid-19 vaccines don’t stop the spread of infection, and indeed, there is now research that suggests it puts someone at higher risk of infection and spread. _________________________ "Sometimes I wonder whether the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on or by imbeciles who really mean it." No More Mr. Nice Guy |
That's utter bullshit which is regularly used. One has no right to intentionally pass on a potentially fatal infection. I would even refine it further because every infection is potentially fatal to some poor soul. One doesn't have the right to intentionally pass on an infection potentially fatal to otherwise healthy people. But a person has the basic human right to choose his risks, to include the risk of catching a disease. A person also has the right to choose to limit his exposure by isolating himself from others. Meanwhile, no one has the right to require other people to accept a medical treatment against their will. If that treatment is potentially fatal, and we know these jabs are, didn't the doc just make the case against mandates?

On August 13th, longtime food journalist and restaurant critic for The Daily Memphian, Jennifer Biggs, 60, died after a long two-month battle with Stage 4 turbo colon cancer that had already spread to her liver and lungs when she was diagnosed in June. According to the Daily Memphian, in July Jennifer told her friends that surgery and treatment were very hard, but she remained optimistic about recovery and the prospects of her chemotherapy. Because the FDA said so. Jennifer joined the Daily Memphian in 2018, following a decades-long career as the food writer for The Commercial Appeal, where she started in 2000 and where, before specializing on the food gig, she’d covered a range of beats, including courts and general assignment reporting. But the Daily Memphian reported that Jennifer’s most important reporting work may have been during the pandemic, when restaurants found themselves on the pandemic’s frontlines. Jennifer often wrote about vaccinations and shutdowns and anxiety and anger. She wrote passionately about people trying to keep their small businesses alive. She was a huge jab fan. In her September 1st, 2021 article headlined, “Table Talk: Herb pots, bistro news and why you should get vaccinated,” Jennifer wrote: Sure, I’m vaccinated and happy to say so. I received my first Moderna vaccine in Mississippi in February and my second in March; I’ll get a booster as soon as I qualify. So yes, I’m vaccinated, and yes, I believe you should be, too. By the time you regret not getting the shot, it might be too late. So. https://www.coffeeandcovid.com...ack&utm_medium=email "Some things are apparent.
