From Axios... a leftist publication, the problem isn't ever the inherent evil of socialism, it's that he's trying to get there all at once:
Roll Eyes

Biden's bet backfired on the largest social expansion in American history, some Democrats say

President Biden bit off too much, too fast in trying to ram through what would be the largest social expansion in American history, top Democrats privately say.

Why it matters: At the time Biden proposed it, he had his mind set on a transformational accomplishment that would put him in the pantheon of FDR and JFK.

Democrats, controlling two branches of government, saw a once-in-a-lifetime opening. In retrospect, some top advisers say this should have been done in smaller chunks.

An outside White House adviser said: "Reality is setting in that you can’t pass a $3.5 trillion package. It’s going to get scaled back. The question is whether it can be done this year."

In branding some Democrats wish had started months ago, White House chief of staff Ron Klain said Sept. 15 at the SALT financial conference in New York: "The net cost of Build Back Better is zero."

The $3.5 trillion price tag covers the 10-year cost of Biden's infrastructure plans, plus massive social spending, including pre-K for all 3- and 4- years olds, and two years of tuition-free community college.

Biden needs to show lawmakers on the left he's with him on topics like this, when he's being pulled to the right on immigration.
The proposal was always an opening bid. The White House points out that the final figure is still being negotiated.

But the big number stuck and is the near-universal way Biden's plans are described.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

What is this author talking about? Is he forgetting the Obama adminstration?

Hedley Lamarr: Wait, wait, wait. I'm unarmed.
Bart: Alright, we'll settle this like men, with our fists.
Hedley Lamarr: Sorry, I just remembered . . . I am armed.

And is he also forgetting that GWB was essentially a big-gov Democrat who went along with the Democrats socialist agenda and open borders?

The idiot in chief is on TV vowing punishment for the mounted border patrol for doing their job. I wonder if this genius has ever seen them clear the streets after Mardi gras?

It is a terrible feeling when you know everything your president says is a lie.

https://townhall.com/tipsheet/...ign=rightrailsticky2

The photographer who took pictures of Border Patrol agents on horseback attempting to prevent Haitians from illegally crossing into the United States is speaking out after Democrats and the mainstream media falsely accused the agents of using whips on the Haitians by using his photos.

Speaking with KTSM, Paul Ratje said he and his colleagues never saw agents whipping anyone.

With the horse unit now not doing patrols at the moment, Jon Anfinsen, president of the Border Patrol's Local 2366 in Del Rio, said the already open border is now less secure:

"The horse patrol unit is an effective means of apprehending immigrants who illegally cross our borders every day, along with searching for those who are sick or injured and stranded in the brush.

"Suspending them all for even a brief amount of time takes away one of the few remaining units that have been in the field making arrests and rescues on a regular basis. When the rest of our agents are indoors processing, unable to make arrests and rescues of their own, we should be using all the resources we have to patrol the border."

In response to Biden's threat, Anfinsen said, "How can President Biden continue with this false narrative when the photographer who took the photos of the horse patrol unit has already said nobody was whipped? What happened to due process?"

There is about to be a mass exodus from Border Patrol. They have had enough of politicians.

wouldn't it be simpler to simply get rid of the politicians?

there are far fewer politicians, so the impact won't be as noticeable

Biden was always, as in even before the election, supposed to be a one-term president - and therefore fearless about the consequences of his behavior on his ability to get re-elected. What this clown has conveniently overlooked is the small majority lead the Dems have in the House and the 50-50 split in the Senate where Harris can cast a tie-breaking vote but can't prevent one or two Senators from wallowing in the role of pivotal voters.

The problem, of course - and we're seeing it clearly here - is that everyone knows he's a one-term president who's looking at a significant probability that both the House and the Senate will shift to the other side in 2022.* Biden can't threaten anyone with payback sometime in a second term, so the feeling is that whatever he's gonna do, he's gotta do it now. Which would be fine, of course, except that congressweasels have been perfecting the art of outwaiting those who won't or can't run again since the dawn of the Republic.

*Cue wailing and gnashing of teeth about how we can never count on elections again 'cause "the Democrats will just steal it!" Biden stole the White House in four or five counties, each in a different state. One of those counties sent Sinema to the Senate and she (along with Manchin and, occasionally, others) is one of the forces slowing Biden's roll. IOW, you can't steal a House of Representatives the same way, and it's extremely unlikely that anyone can steal the Senate the same way in 2022.

^^^ Maybe not at the moment. Even the MSM is treating the border as an albatross around both Joe's AND the Ho's necks. You're also starting to see a breakup of Democratic machine politics in border areas that unquestionably revolves around a combination of the Kung Flu and the overwhelming number of illegals getting across. In principle I think you're right, but the timing would be a nickel-plated bitch for the Dems.

No. The Agents will just do their best to see and do nothing just like the Police. I wish to hell all LEO's would unite and start talking about a walk out just to see the left freak out.

I would love to see the BP take a big job action to protest any politically motivated "investigation" into the horse unit. But that would just open the border that much more.

Maybe one of those guys could saddle up Occasional Cortex and ride her into a crowd of illegals. That would scare the hell out of the illegals and she could personally make sure that no one was being 'abused'.

^^^^^^^^^^
He has his ways. Sharpton has been outraged for years. Does not even apologize when he is wrong. His emotions are over the top and with Jesse out of the picture he sees himself as the spokesman for the underdog and disenfranchised.

Welcome to life as a photographer and selling your images. You will be used and spit-out to satisfy an agenda, your friends and customers at the editors desk did you no favors other than your bank account.

Did you really think that the images you took at the border would be used for anything else other than pushing a narrative that's different than what you captured?
