^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ This is premeditated damage control. They knew this was going to get out so the drop back and punt position is Biden loves his family too much. But the inconsistency of denying a granddaughter had to be resolved so that is why we saw him formally recognize Hunter's lust child.

This is a good sign. When they know they're caught and have to control the damage, we are right over the target with bomb bay doors open. We'll watch them squirm for a months or two; maybe even into 2024. But before March if this heat isn't off, he'll pull out of the race and hope the clock runs out before Hunter does time.

"how could we get so lucky?”

Longtime Democrat strategist James Carville said Wednesday on CNN’s “The Source” that House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) launching an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden was a good thing for Democrats because the case is “nonexistent.”

Carville said, “My honest opinion is the people they have leading it are not very smart. In fact, they’re borderline stupid. James Comer, Jim Jordan against the people in the House that will be on this committee like Dan Goldman.”

He continued, “These are very smart people. I don’t think the White House needs to worry too much about this and let these congressional Democrats who are whip smart will just eat these people alive. I so want them to do this. I can’t tell you how much.”

Anchor Kaitlan Collins said, “You want them to have the impeachment?”

Carville said, “I want to hold hearings. I want to let the American public see how nonexistent the case is, that the president didn’t do anything wrong, and I want our people who are quite effective lawyers to get them on cross-examination and make fools out of them.”

Collins said, “I don’t want to put words in your mouth, but it sounds like you’re saying impeachment could be a good thing. Is that correct?”

Carville said, “Correct. You’re not putting words in my mouth.”

He added, “I was happy when McCarthy got out there and said that. I thought wow how could we get so lucky?”

Carville is a tool, he'd best be careful what he wishes for. His knowledge of the facts of this investigation likely extend to what CNN has reported, which as everyone here knows, is pretty much nothing.

He/they can spin it any way he/they want, but sooner or later, there's going to be way too much smoke and fire to deny.

Hunter Biden indicted on federal gun charges

quote:
The indictment against the president's son comes after a plea agreement on tax and gun charges fell apart in July and amid a probe of his finances by House Republicans.

Federal prosecutors have indicted Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, on gun charges, court documents show.

Biden was indicted in Delaware federal court on three counts tied to the possession of a gun while using narcotics.

Two counts are tied to Biden allegedly filing a form claiming that he was not using illegal drugs at the time he purchased a Colt Cobra revolver in October 2018. The third count alleges that he possessed a firearm while using a narcotic.

The historic indictment against the son of a sitting president comes after a plea deal that might have ended a years-long probe into Hunter Biden fell apart and just as House Republicans have launched an impeachment inquiry in an effort to seek bank records and other documents from the president and his son.

The case is being overseen by special counsel David Weiss, who also headed the investigation. Weiss is a Trump appointee who was kept on as U.S. attorney for Delaware because of the sensitive and unique nature of the investigation into a president's son by the Justice Department, a part of the executive branch headed by the president. U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland named Weiss special counsel in August, as negotiations over the tax and gun charges collapsed.

Weiss’s investigation was opened in 2018, the year before Joe Biden announced his candidacy for president, according to a source familiar with the inquiry, and focused on the younger Biden’s finances.

The two sides reached a plea agreement in July which called for Hunter Biden to plead guilty in Delaware federal court to two misdemeanor counts of failing to pay his taxes in return for prosecutors recommending a sentence of probation. A separate felony gun charge for illegally owning a Colt Cobra .38 Special handgun would have been dropped in two years if Biden honored the terms of what’s known as a diversion agreement.

The agreement started to fall apart at the court appearance where it was expected to be finalized after the judge presiding over the case raised questions about some details. “The agreements are not straightforward and they contain some atypical provisions,” U.S. District Judge Maryellen Noreika noted, including one that could theoretically protect Biden from other tax-related crimes in the same time period.

Prosecutors said the provision in the diversion agreement would not protect him from different charges, while attorneys for Hunter Biden said it would. Noreika, a Trump-appointed judge, asked both sides for more information, and the agreement — which Republicans were already blasting as a “sweetheart deal” — subsequently fell apart.

In subsequent court filings, Weiss’s office noted that without the plea agreement in place, there were venue issues and the case would most likely have to go to trial in California or Washington, D.C. Prosecutors also suggested that they might bring different charges in the new case.

Hunter Biden attorney Abbe Lowell, meanwhile, argued the diversion agreement is still in effect because it had already been signed by his client and prosecutors and said it “prevents any additional charges from being filed against Mr. Biden.”

“We expect a fair resolution of the sprawling, 5-year investigation into Mr. Biden that was based on the evidence and the law, not outside political pressure, and we’ll do what is necessary on behalf of Mr. Biden to achieve that,” he said last week.

Prosecutors dispute that the agreement is in effect, arguing it lacks a necessary signature from the probation department.

Attachments to the plea agreement and the diversion agreement that were filed in court blamed Biden’s conduct in the tax and gun cases on his drug and alcohol addiction. The documents say that he got sober in May of 2019, and with the help of a third-party paid off about $2 million in back taxes and penalties by October of 2021.

The White House has been largely silent on the investigation, but the president defended his son in an interview with MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle on May 5.

“First of all, my son has done nothing wrong,” the president said. “I trust him. I have faith in him.”

Asked by Ruhle how charges against his son would impact his presidency, Biden said, “It impacts my presidency by making me feel proud of him.”

Hunter Biden told CBS News in a 2021 interview that he was “cooperating completely” with the federal probe. “And I’m absolutely certain, 100 percent certain,” he said, “that at the end of the investigation, I will be cleared of any wrongdoing.”

I may have missed something here, but as I understand it, he was never previously charged on the 4473 violation, and they bundled it into one of the plea agreements anyway.

He knows they have Biden dead to rights. He's just puffing his chest, putting on a brave face.

He reminds me of Matt Damon in The Departed, handcuffed in the elevator with a bloody nose, screaming how he can't wait to have his day in court...right before he breaks down in tears wishing for death.

I'm sure it isn't meant to be a distraction or anything, but what a coincidence that Hunter finally gets charged the day after an impeachment investigation is announced for Joe.
Weird! Isn't it?

House Democrats acknowledged Wednesday that Hunter Biden’s then-business partner, Eric Schwerin, handled President Biden’s finances for the duration of his vice presidency.

A spokesperson for the Democrat minority of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability told Fox News Digital that Schwerin, the former president of Hunter’s Rosemont Seneca Advisors and a frequent visitor to the Obama-Biden White House, served as then-Vice President Biden’s "bookkeeper" from 2009 to 2017.

"Notably, Mr. Schwerin, who served as then-Vice President Biden’s bookkeeper from 2009 to 2017, explained that he was not aware of any transactions into or out of the then-Vice President’s bank account related to business conducted by any Biden family member," the spokesperson said in a statement.

A person familiar with Schwerin's role in handling then-Vice President Biden's finances told Fox News Digital that Schwerin worked on Biden's personal budget and helped coordinate with his tax preparers.

Schwerin’s lawyer, however, told Fox News Digital that Schwerin was not technically a "bookkeeper" to the then-VP but rather he simply assisted the then-VP with his finances.

Fox News Digital has previously reported on Schwerin’s extensive ties to the Biden family, both personal and professional, and how he was instrumental in Hunter expanding his enterprise in China.

Peter Schweizer, the president of Government Accountability Institute and an expert on Hunter's business dealings, told "Sunday Morning Futures" host Maria Bartiromo last month that "Eric Schwerin was the money guy" in Hunter's business ventures.

Schwerin, who visited the Obama White House and then-Vice President Biden’s residence at least 36 times between 2009 and 2016, was also a founding partner and managing director of Hunter's now-dissolved firm Rosemont Seneca Partners. He was working with Hunter's firms when he was appointed in early 2015 by then-President Obama to the Commission for the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad, an independent U.S. government agency.

Hunter’s ex-wife, Kathleen Buhle, who was married to the president’s son from 1993 to 2017, revealed in a memoir in June 2022 that Schwerin "managed almost every aspect of our financial life."

This week, the White House announced Biden will veto a GOP bill that includes military pay raises for soldiers should it pass.

The House Republican legislation would have given the military's junior enlisted troops a 30 percent raise next year and ensure that no military member would make less than the equivalent of $15 per hour during a 40-hour work week.

"If the president were presented with H.R. 4365, he would veto it .," the White House said in a press release, pointing to the lack of Left-wing agenda items such as diversity initiatives, abortion, transgender issues, and climate change.

"The draft bills also include numerous new, partisan policy provisions with devastating consequences, including harming access to reproductive healthcare, threatening the health and safety of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex (LGBTQI+) Americans, endangering marriage equality, hindering critical climate change initiatives, and preventing the Administration from promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion," the White House stated.

once upon a time this would have been a political campaign ender

Biden boasts teaching ‘political theory’ at UPenn — but he never taught a single class at the Ivy League school

President Biden, who has never taught a single semester-long course at the University of Pennsylvania, mused on Thursday about when he used to “teach political theory” at the Ivy League school.

“Our democracy is under attack, and we got to fight for it,” Biden, 80, said during a speech at Maryland’s Prince George’s Community College.

“I taught at the University of Pennsylvania for four years and I used to teach political theory. And folks, you always hear, every generation has to fight for democracy.”

Biden was an honorary professor at the Philadelphia school, serving as the Benjamin Franklin Presidential Professor of the Practice from February 2017 to April 2019, between his term in the White House as vice president and the start of his presidential campaign.

But his responsibilities never included teaching semester-long classes, conducting independent research, and handling administrative responsibilities – typical duties of professors.

Biden made a dozen or so public appearances on campus but never taught a regular class, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

One of the visits was a November 2017 event promoting his book “Promise Me, Dad,” according to the Daily Pennsylvanian.

Other Biden appearances included Q&As with UPenn administrators, one lecture to Wharton business school graduate students and public events with former Mexican President Felipe Calderon and former UK Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg.

Biden reaped about $900,000 in income from the school while he held the honorary post.

“The president has lied about being at Ground Zero the day after the Sept. 11 attacks, falsely claimed he saw the Pittsburgh bridge collapse, claimed his grandfather died in the hospital days before his birth. What is going on with the president? Is he just believing things that didn’t happen did happen, or is he just randomly making stuff up?” Washington Times reporter Jeff Mordock asked White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby on Wednesday.

The White House spokesman dodged a question about the absent professor.

The embellishment comes a day after the White House was called out for the president’s frequent factual misstatements.

Isn't it amazing how every time a Democrat is caught in a blatant lie it was an "error" or "oversight" or "failure of memory".

I have to admit, as I'm getting older I forget where I put things, occasionally what I'm looking for, or even sometimes why I walked in this room?!?. But I've never forgotten where I went to college, the degree I earned, and my GPA.

Yet... when a Republican gets accused of a lie (real or fabricated) they should immediately resign, find a cliff, and leap off.

Biden claims to group of rabbis that he was ‘raised in synagogues in my state’

https://nypost.com/2023/09/14/...agogues-in-my-state/

President Biden told a group of rabbis on Thursday that he was “raised in the synagogues” of Delaware — after previously claiming to have been raised by the state’s then-tiny Puerto Rican community.

“I, you might say, was raised in the synagogues of my state. You think I’m kidding, I’m not,” Biden said during a call ahead of Rosh HaShanah, the Jewish new year holiday that begins Friday.

The 80-year-old cited the Beth Shalom congregation in Wilmington, Del., as “the home of countless friends for me.” He named three rabbis, including a current one at the synagogue.

“I’ve always believed the message of the High Holidays is universal — that it’s never too late to repent, to change, to begin anew,” Biden said.

Biden’s 2007 memoir “Promises to Keep” doesn’t contain a single use of the word “synagogue” and its seven uses of the words “Jews” and “Jewish” all are when discussing history or politics. Beth Shalom is not mentioned. His 2017 book “Promise Me, Dad” has similarly sparse mentions of Judaism.

Biden previously drew scrutiny in Puerto Rico last year when he said that “I was sort of raised in the Puerto Rican community at home, politically,” even though a paltry 2,000 Puerto Ricans lived in Delaware when he was launching his career and he had not previously described a significant connection to the community.

While speaking to the rabbis Thursday, Biden made other claims that have yielded unflattering fact-checks, including saying that he “got involved with the civil rights movement” before becoming a senator.

Biden boasts teaching ‘political theory’ at UPenn — but he never taught a single class at the Ivy League school
Biden previously has told contested stories about his purported civil rights activism, including claiming without evidence that he was arrested during protests.

At other points, Biden has said he wasn’t so involved.

“During the 1960s, I was in fact very concerned about the civil rights movement,” Biden said in 1987. “I was not an activist.I worked at an all-black swimming pool in the east side of Wilmington, Delaware. I was involved in what they were thinking, what they were feeling. I was involved, but I was not out marching. I was not down in Selma, I was not anywhere else. I was a suburbanite kid who got a dose of exposure to what was happening to black Americans in my own city.”

Biden has a habit of telling factually questionable stories when attempting to relate to his audiences.

Biden in 2021 told Jewish leaders that he remembered “spending time at” and “going to” Pittsburgh’s Tree of Life synagogue in 2018 after the worst anti-Semitic attack in US history, in which 11 people were murdered. The synagogue said he never visited and the White House later said he was thinking about a 2019 phone call to the synagogue’s rabbi.

Later that month, Biden told an Idaho audience that his “first job offer” came from local lumber and wood products business Boise Cascade. The company said it was news to them.
