Also, I hope during the debate, President Trump manages to work in the phrase, "you know- the thing". This will get a big laugh and will agitate Biden even further.

There's an article over at msn's site written by the guy who posed as Trump for Clinton when she was 'training' for the debates that were part of the 2016 race. I'd quote excerpts, but the truth is they wouldn't be illuminating - the guy's still playing by 2008 rules and seems to think that we all believe Biden is as sharp as a tack and bursting with energy. Thing is, if they're printing that stuff then they're grasping at straws.

I hope so. Good coaches will help with this. I remember the debate between Quayle and Lloyd Benson. Benson was told the Kennedy comparison would arise. From 1988:

Saw this tonight online, not sure how true it is but it’s plausible he would try to have something like this at next week’s debate:

This was an interesting breakdown of him interacting with someone at the CNN town hall and a body language expert’s take on it:

An earpiece can be a two-edged sword if it interrupts the thinking process of the person wearing it. If Biden's staff is feeding him answers then my WAG would be that it would be fairly obvious in Biden's delivery.

I had a cousin just 2 years younger than I go into Memory Care. She only lasted about a year there. At the end couldn't walk or even make a coherent sentence. Very sad.

I wonder if the secret service can jam all electronic signals, you know, for the president's safety. Better yet, hijack the signal and mess with him by feeding him bad answers. Big Grin

Not surprised at all. Wish there was a way to check him before the debate, but it wont matter. Still pisses me off though.

Hacking his feed was the FIRST thing I thought of. It doesn’t even have to be absurdities to throw him off balance. Just cancel all noise and let Biden try and come up with his own material. That would be priceless.

If Biden does wear an earpiece like that it would be super easy to jam that signal. Pretty sure the Trump team would have that covered.

I would hope that any team the President has would know* that in general interfering with legitimate wireless communications is a Federal crime. Would that apply to jamming someone’s earpiece feed during a debate? I don’t know and I don’t care because such things are not my responsibility, but illegal or not I would care whether such a thing were discovered and trumpeted to the world (NPI) in the weeks before the election.

First, it wouldn't be 'legitimate' wireless communications, it's cheating on a test! Imagine a 'candidate' for Police Officer having an earpiece during their oral boards....NOT Legitimate!

Second, they wouldn't need to 'jam' the frequency, just transmit distracting audio like Sleepy Joe's Greatest Hits/Gaffs, or Hey, Macarena! C'Mon Man....You Know, the Thing! Wink

This ^^^^^

Plus, given his famous lapses in remembering things and forming coherent sentences--even to the point of stumbling over stuff he's seen reading from cards, I can just imagine Joe trying to recite what he hears in that earpiece resulting in a short-circuited version the Telephone Game.

Something like that may work well for cheating at Jeopardy or Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, but I doubt it'll work well in a debate scenario--particularly with somebody exhibiting diminished abilities.

My bigger concern is Joe's team will be fed the debate questions ahead of time, as allegedly occurred with the Clinton team in 2016.

^^^ Not only that, but being fed the debate questions ahead of time won't make a bit of difference.
Chris Wallace has already publicly announced the 6 topics to be discussed. Both Trump and Biden will have the opportunity to prepare. Biden can rehearse and memorize and repeat his lines all he wants... he will just come across as rehearsed.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
