I have been campaigning hard in Virginia.

For the DEMs, abortion has been the number one issue, and many younger women are voting DEM for no other reason.

I have explained to people that abortion is now a state issue, but Biden has been saying if there is a DEM congress, they will "codify" abortion.

Victor Davis Hanson :

"Biden also goaded young people to vote by temporarily lowering gas prices through draining the strategic petroleum reserve, offering amnesty for marijuana offenses, and canceling half a trillion dollars of student loan debt. He told young women that they would die without unlimited abortions. And most of that mud stuck .

In contrast, Republicans wrongly assumed all voters, red and blue, sensibly cared most about spiking inflation, unaffordable food and fuel, an open border, and a disastrous foreign policy."

The above quote matches what I have witnessed. Certainly not everyone is buying the DEM BS, but it has revved up the DEM base here.

Also:

In 1960, the median age for first marriage for women was 20. Today it is almost 29.

Also in 1960, about 65% of women were married. Today 50% of women ae married.

If abortion did motivate voters in certain states to vote against Republicans, that might be due to the fact that in those states abortion was literally on the ballot in the form of propositions, which may have drawn some more very pro-abortion people to the poles. Maybe. But overall abortion simply is not what most voters in the US care about. In any case, it's time to repeal the 19th Amendment. Ok, that's a joke. Well maybe a half joke. No, seriously, it's time to repeal the 19th Amendment.

Ok, to be actually serious this time, even if we end up losing the Senate, it was still worth it getting rid of Roe.

Babies Alive Because of Dobbs Ruling Apologize To Republicans For Disappointing Midterms
POLITICS
·
Nov 10, 2022 · BabylonBee.com

U.S. — The thousands of babies alive today because of the Dobbs ruling have apologized to Republicans for contributing to their lackluster midterm results.

"We are so sorry that our not being murdered may have cost Republicans a few seats in the House," said the babies in a joint statement. "We know it can't make up for it, but perhaps ten thousand children escaping a violent death will somehow ease the blow."

While the Dobbs decision was expected to hurt Republicans, the babies born because of the ruling did admit to being caught off guard by voters. "We get it, we do cry a lot," said the babies. "We just had no idea that people would turn out in droves to vote Democrat, purely out of anger that no one got to crush our skulls. While that seems totally insane, what do we know - we're just helpless babies."

Though Americans came into the election generally displeased with the direction of the country, exit polls showed that the opportunity to murder a baby motivated a large contingent of voters to stick with the Democrats anyways. "Sure the country is in terrible shape, but what if you wanted to shoot a baby in the face and you couldn't?" asked local woman Rhonda McMullin. "I may not have electricity and get mugged every hour, but it's all worth it to know I can kill a kid whenever I please. My sacred rights as a woman are safe and secure."

At publishing time, another House race had been called for the Democrats, but an infinitely precious embodied soul was breathing.

This, my neighbor said he was asked by a woman where she could drop off ballots (plural) when he was coming out of the precent. He pointed to the drop box, which is manned, and watched as she put in over 20 ballots in the box.

Ballot harvesting, no doubt...

Yep, If losing the senate is the price we have to pay to right the evils the democrats have supported then so be it.

Arizona is in some deep shit Frown

During Election Day:

quote:
Tabulators were down, printers were running out of ink, voting machines were down, and long, long lines kept voters waiting to cast their ballots.

Voters were waiting several hours in several Republican districts due to Katie Hobbs’ incompetence and malfeasance.

Voters who could not use a tabulator were told to put their ballot in “box 3” to be counted later at the tabulation center in Downtown Phoenix.

At the tabulation center, photos of trucks carrying ballots unloading for counting.

Barricades around the tabulation center...

And sheriffs on the rooftops.

https://www.thegatewaypundit.c...et-around-perimeter/

At this time, only 70% "counted". It is amazing this is happening in Arizona.

Maricopa County Board of Supervisors Chairman Bill Gates told CNN Thursday that vote tabulations in the county will carry over into next week.

Gates spoke with CNN’s Sara Sidner live on air just after 11:00 a.m. local time and noted that there were some 400,000 remaining ballots to be tabulated in Maricopa, including 290,000 early ballots that were dropped off on Election Day.

Maricopa County recorder Stephen Richer noted on Wednesday that some 275,000 early ballots were dropped off on election day in addition to 17,000 in-person Election Day ballots that were not read by tabulators and submitted through secure boxes at polling sites. It appears Gates combined the two totals in his estimate of the “290,000 ballots that were dropped off on Election Day,” though this is not confirmed.

DeSantis pulled in around 43% of the 18-to-29-year-old demographic in this election (waaaayyyyyy outperforming Republicans across the rest of the country for the same group.) So, yeah, whatever the raw numbers of those voters, apparently it's possible for a Republican/Conservative to draw a sizable chunk of "child-bearing-age" voters irrespective of Roe/Dobbs.

I don't know where you've been looking, but, the latest (6 hrs ago) from CBS has the GOP at 213 and the commies at 206. GOP needs 5 more to control.

Both political parties are calcifying. If you are eligible to draw Social Security, then you shouldn’t be in active political office. <snip>

I think that's a little too early, but your point is taken, there are some ossified examples there well past there sell-by date, Nancy for instance, Mitch, not so bad but not so good either.

I'm good with a cognition exam though, if you are dead you shouldn't hold office even in Pennsylvania.

I know you weren't directly responding to anything I said, but since my name is in the quote so, I will respond anyhow. McConnell couldn't get anything done with a majority in both houses, and a republican in the Whitehouse. Why? because he's too busy lining his pockets by making back door deals. He's part of the swamp. That's why many of us in KY would rather he go the hell home and stay there. Whoever replaces him is a wild card, but I'm willing to take my chances on someone better who will actually fight the libs on their own terms, rather than enrich themself making deals.

Senate looks iffy too especially with Republicans picking up another seat in Arizona. Even if they get that Georgia will be hard to win with the money the democrats will be throwing at that to keep control of executive branch appointments and federal judges and pass legislation assuming they win the house which they look to be on track to do.

Damn! I swear, some folks see cloudy sky, even when it's clear and sunny.

This thread stopped being useful days ago.

Para was pretty clear about his wishes, but the woe-is-me crowd just can’t help themselves.

I honestly believe that if some of the forum Eeyore’s would be better off if they had the self discipline to unplug.

I still have hope that this can still happen. I would rather not have to suffer through watching the bs news outlets to get the last few results still to come.
Yall that are semi-local have been really good about sharing info as it surfaces and for that Thank you!!

Currently, we're at:

82% Est. Vote Counted

Katie Hobbs (D)_________1,031,816_______50.7%
Kari Lake (R)___________1,004,837_______49.3%

It was at 69% counted last night and the percentages have stayed awfully close the whole time. I hope you're right and it breaks hard for Lake in the last 18%.
