Schumer’s response.

“I have always believed and continue to believe that immigration is good for America," the senator said in a statement. "President Trump, instead of politicizing and dividing America, which he always seems to do at times of national tragedy, should be focusing on the real solution - anti-terrorism funding - which he proposed cutting in his most recent budget."

More money! Solves everything.

if it weren't for people like Schumer, this country would be a whole lot safer - if he wants to see who was responsible, he can look in the mirror as he is one of the enablers of terrorism in this country

call it what you want, but he is a terrorist enabler - plain and simple

I only just started watching some news on this. That ain't much of a truck he rented, is it? It looks no bigger than a small Nissan pickup. I guess it doesn't take much to create that much carnage when you're talking about a couple of tons moving at speed.

It looks like a full-sized Silverado 1500 (half ton) pickup. Even a Prius would do a lot of damage against bicycles and pedestrians. I have a similar truck as my daily driver, and I hate to think of the damage I could cause if I ever lost control of it.

Looking at the door handles, I'm thinking F-150.

Yeah, you are correct that it's a Ford. I had never really looked closely at the pics before. Hard to tell from a quick glance because of all the damage.

I think that it's a Superduty, though (probably an F250). This assessment is based on the door handles and the "F#50" badge at the rear of the fender immediately below the hood. This badge is unique to the superduties (I think those door handles are, too).

In a sense I agree with Schumer, I too believe immigration is good for America. And maybe I am arrogant here. I believe it is appropriate to bring people into America, to have a better life than is possible in their homeland. But to have such better life, they must accept the commensurate responsibilities of living in America, ie, "upgrade" their cultural norms.

The problem I see, in the name of social justice, tolerance, diversity, equality, liberals put (failed) foreign cultures ahead of American culture, and expect Americans to downgrade our culture to accommodate such. Many foreigners bring the very disease with them from which they are trying to escape, and spread the disease here. And those like Schumer either don't believe such is happening, or don't believe such is bad.

You agree with Schumer's statement, as we all do, but not his intent, which no one here does. He has bad intent, either intentionally or because he is a drooling neanderthal.

We want to accept people who admire the ideals of this country and want to assimilate into our culture. We do not want to continue to accept people who either hate our principles or want us to adapt to the cultures they fled. This latter group is the one the Left upholds for inexplicable reasons, and it is how they choose to define immigration, in total, so that anyone who disagrees with their insanity is labeled anti-immigration by them.

Common sense immigration used to be done without having to explain it to those with lesser minds or questionable motives. In fact, we closed immigration off from the mid-1920s until the 1960s precisely because we had absorbed a huge wave of immigration though the early 20th century and we decided that those immigrants needed time to assimilate here before we opened the doors again in a big way.

This isn't quantum mechanics, but in trying to explain this to Leftists, one is left looking at gaped mouths and empty stares, as though one has just become the dark monolith in the midst of the chimpanzees in the beginning of 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Mark Levin on Hannity last night put it very well...Immigration should be geared to accepting only those people who bring with them some skills, capabilities, or assets that make this country better. If they can't make the country better then they shouldn't even be considered for immigration.

Immigration for the sake of immigration, as that mental moron Schummer supports, is asinine and destructive and should be abolished.

A friend of mine, Chicago PD, told me about responding to a call for a 12-year-old kid, shot in the chest with a .44Mag. I said something like, "Must have been pretty awful."

My friend shrugged his shoulders and said, "Not as bad as the average car accident-with-injuries."

My comment was meant to be relative to the size trucks they've used in past attacks.

Wait, what? a dude with a green card visa gets to sponsor others to come here? WTF? no wonder we have immigration / assimilation issues...

How about we cancel the existing green cards and visas for all their pals, then review and selectively approve those that we actually want / need?

Breaking: TRUMP CANCELS Diversity Lottery Program – NYC Killer Sponsored 23 PEOPLE Since Coming to US!
November 1, 2017 by Jim Hoft 344 Comments

On Tuesday Islamist Sayfullo Saipov, a 29=year-old immigrant from Uzbekistan, murdered eight people in a truck attack in New York City. Saipov entered the US under the “Diversity Visa program” in 2010.

The “Diversity VISA Program” is a lottery for individuals from nations with few immigrants in the United States. The immigration program was the brainchild of none other than Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY).

Today President Trump called for an end of the Diversity Lottery Program. President Trump also called for an end to chain migration.
Sayfullo Saipov reportedly brought in 23 people with him since 2010!

President Trump: This man who came in, or whatever you want to call him, brought in other people. And he was the point of contact, the primary point of contact, and this is preliminary, 23 people!

Saipov was only in the US for 6+ years and already sponsored 23 others! The system is broken!
