Bullshit inflated "headline". The only "evidence" that they were not going to prosecute was unsubstantiated internet bullshit. Now that that is exposed as BS, the DA is "reversing".

This is all very literally fake news. It's so fake the so-caled "fake news" mainstream media wouldn't run it.

Don't know this person, but if she really is a good attorney, then she really is an exception to rule. I hope this woman proves me totally wrong, because I don't have a single belief Pelosi will see any form of justice.

I skimmed the story, but in my opinion, no one on Twitter is credible on any level. My comment was more driven off my continuing belief that no one of Pelosi's stature will ever see a modicum of justice in the current two tiered justice system.

I don’t like Pelosi or her husband, or most of her ilk, but he is still innocent until proven guilty, whether there is one prior or ten; bail is to ensure appearance at court, I highly doubt at eighty something he’s going to flee to Burundi to avoid court. Let the case play out, if the DA caves it will be apparent, if he has a lawyer that is skilled and he’s acquitted that’s our system. Do I think he’s guilty? Hell yeah, but I’m not going to be sitting on his jury hearing the evidence that will be admitted. He shouldn’t get any special treatment, but it’s a DUI with no serious injury or death, most suspects aren’t held for that without bail, neither should he.

For what its worth...

Napa County authorities release Paul Pelosi mugshot weeks after DUI arrest
quote:
The Napa County Department of Corrections released a booking photo Monday showing Paul Pelosi after his arrest for allegedly driving under the influence back on May 28.

Pelosi, the 82-year-old multi-millionaire husband of Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, allegedly drove with a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit of .08%, according to court records. The California Highway Patrol and the county sheriff's department had both previously declined requests for more information or images in the case, citing the ongoing investigation.

Even a description of any property damage or injuries has been withheld.

"In Napa County, the decision to release or withhold mugshots or booking photos lies with the Napa County Department of Corrections, not the District Attorney’s Office," a county spokesperson said in a statement Monday. "In the days after Mr. Pelosi’s arrest, Napa County followed the Department of Corrections’ policy regarding the release of booking photos and mugshots. Mr. Pelosi received the same treatment under that policy that all individuals released from County Jail receive."

The photo was taken at around 4:30 a.m. on May 29, according to authorities, hours after CHP arrested him near Yountville in Napa County.

Unlike other counties in California, the sheriff's office does not run the Napa County Jail, according to authorities. It is handled by a county Department of Corrections under the Board of Supervisors.

CHP said in an earlier statement that the arrest came after the driver of a 2014 Jeep struck Pelosi's 2021 Porsche at an intersection around 11:45 p.m. on May 28. Police reported no injuries at the time and did not arrest the other driver.

Records show Pelosi bailed out the following morning for a $5,000 sum.

Speaker Pelosi's office has previously said it would not comment on the incident, which a spokesperson said happened while she was on the opposite side of the country.

There is literally somebody on here to doubt every last inch of this, isn't there?

If and when he is convicted, there will be somebody to claim the governor is going to pardon him.

There are some people on this board that will do just that with almost any thread you care to make or post in.

No conspiracy thoughts here-cool your jets! Just doesn’t look like a mug shot taken the night of the DUI. He was over the limit and had crashed his car. If this photo was taken that night, it is a remarkably well-composed individual that looks like he had time to primp and preen for the mugshot.

I could be wrong…just sharing my thoughts.

Forces at work not going to let a picture be shown of him in an orange jump suit in court, or a mugshot with harsh lighting and the height lines in the background!

Mugshots are frequently taken while being booked - jail attire isn't issued until after that, only if the person is going to be taken to a cell and held. Preserves the "innocent until proven guilty" doctrine in case the photo is seen.

People taken to the "drunk tank" pending a release in minor crimes frequently don't relinquish their street clothes.

BTW, this photo looks quite like a lot of shots taken at facilities in CA - not all photos are taken in front of a height chart.

There are issues with using mugshots where the defendant is wearing a jumpsuit. They create a perception of guilt, or are at least believed to. Some agencies will place a blanket over the jumpsuit if the photo cannot be taken without it.

Yup. Using the street clothes also means that the photos can be used in lineups as they don’t look like they are in jail. Our jail didn’t take any height board behind them. Always was a plain grey board.
