Have you checked in with hospitals doing add-on facilities? There will be a lot of quickly setup rooms that require electricity to keep flowing at all times.

As a rule, I am a pretty calm, steady sort of guy. Less likely to freak out than a lot of folks. Mrs. PHPaul wanted to go to town and hit Walmart and the grocery store to fill in a few holes in the pantry. On a good day, I hate Walmart and have developed the habit of going to get what I went there for and then having a seat in the Dunkin' Donuts and more-or-less patiently waiting for The Wife to reappear from the bowels of shopping hell. Today, I was antsy as soon as I walked in and within 5 minutes I wanted the hell OUT of there. Really weird sensation, no identifiable trigger, I was just a bundle of nerves and needed to get OUT! Feeling continued, tho not as strongly, as we went to the grocery store. Told the wife "I'd like us to go in there, get what we came after and get out as quickly possible." The very antithesis of her usual routine but to her credit, she did her best. Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.

Late afternoon into the evening, I'm not feeling all that great, a little achy, head is kind of tight, sinuses swelling, maybe a bit restricted breathing, am I getting sick? I say something to the wife, we're definitely at "that age", and I'm wondering maybe, being Spring here in the Midwest, pollen and allergies. The wife perks up, reports feeling the same way through the day and yeah, she's very relieved thinking I'm right, that time of year. We feel fine now. The other day, my breathing is noticeably restricted, it goes on too long, I'm kinda anxious. Then I reflexively clear my thoat, a considerable hocker works up, breathing free and easy. Staying strong. For many years, I was a "stay single, forever" type. Been messaging with a gal for a couple weeks. We buoy each others spirits, and plan to enjoy a walk, talk, and cheeseburger together when this passes! _________________________________________ Dei. Familia. Patria. Victoria. Why wait? In for a penny, in for a pound. Get yer pound of ground beef, rolls, 'taters, and fry up a nice meal with her. If you butter the buns and toast them, her eyes will roll in delight. Don't forget a small chocolate desert item.

A long time ago, John Carpenter and Jeff Bridges made a movie called Starman, Paraphrasing a line from that film:. I have watched your people, They seem to be at their very best only when things are at their very worst. Since that movie , I have noticed that, when enough of the right people notice that very few people are pulling on the rope, very soon thereafter people are waiting in line to take their turn at pulling on the rope. Feeling great this morning! I am on day 4 without fever and without fever reducer. My cough is nearly gone and I can talk longer without coughing. Tomorrow will be the one week mark since testing positive for COVID-19. Oregon health authority says I'm considered clear when I'm symptom/fever free for over 72 hours and it's been over 1 week since testing positive for COVID-19. So today I'm coming out of isolation from my room, but I'll wear a mask in the house until I fully recover from having pneumonia in my right lung. I suspect that may take 3+ weeks to fully recover from. As long as the lingering cough is minimal, I'll start making the shopping trips and such. My 79 year-old mother, my wife and my son have no symptoms at all. Tony. Owner, TonyBen, LLC, Type-07 FFL www.tonybenm14.com (Site under construction). e-mail: tonyben@tonybenm14.com

It's great that you are recovering so well. I've read that you can still spread the virus to others for 9 days after you're symptom free. So i'd wait a while longer to go to the grocery store.

That's good to know! I'll wear a mask until my lungs are healed. I guess I can still send the family out for a while. 9 day after symptoms are gone is a week from yesterday. Thanks to all who've been praying or sending good thoughts my way. It's really appreciated. My family cried when I walked out of the bedroom this morning. Everyone had a moment. No hugs yet though. We'll give it a few more days. Tony. Owner, TonyBen, LLC, Type-07 FFL www.tonybenm14.com (Site under construction). e-mail: tonyben@tonybenm14.com

Got a call from my boss today. He said that he is paying for my health insurance even if I am not working, so I am not going to lose my health insurance, that was a relief. He also said don't worry about paying it back anytime soon. He's also looking into SBA loans to get us 8 weeks of pay. That is a huge relief, hopefully it comes through. He's tried with both of his normal banks and they simply don't have the forms or information yet, but did tell him what information he would likely need once they get the forms in, so he's started compiling what they think he'll need. Hopefully things in the Skins household are going to get a little brighter. Jesse Sic Semper Tyrannis

Fairly good for us, as long as we can maintain a semblance of perspective. 1) I'm closing in on retiring, not quite ready, but with our IRA's and 401k tanking, it hurts. But I'm still way better off than a lot of folks and the markets will come back.... 2) My wife is one of the primary caregivers for her 95 year old Mother, so we're taking hygiene and distancing seriously. It's not about just us. 3) We've tried to continue supporting our local eateries. 4) We have had to send folks home at work for fever and or contacts that might be potentially virus. 5) The rates of infections are climbing (locally and nationally) and falling in line with the models. That's to be expected and with the additional testing being done, not surprising. With all the above, perspective and FAITH in GOD and prayer are one's best safeguards emotionally. I seen it suggested that a prayer while washing up covers a lot of territory. It helps us...... Bill Gullette

Also looking into this for my company. Forgiveable loan for 8 weeks of salaries, health insurance, retirement plans (401k) and rent. Pretty sweet deal once they get it implemented. Got a call back from the guy at B of A pretty quickly and they are supposed to be rolling out their online application resource tomorrow, but the SBA keeps changing the application. He said they (BofA) are one of the few that will be able to accept online apps, vs paper app mailed or faxed. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected but this...chin up!! We'll get through it.

Normally view illness as just part of life, and assume in today's society, whatever makes its rounds I'll get and I just don't worry much about it. However, in September our 7 year old son was diagnosed with the most severe form of aplastic anemia, so he is severely neutropenic (no immune system at all), and so our household has had to take this extremely seriously. We have to go to the hospital one to two times a week for transfusions of red blood, platelets, and med infusions, but they have allowed us to do his other blood draws through his PICC line in his arm at home to limit his exposure to the hospital system. For us this isn't going to go away when things get opened back up. The reality is most of the general population is going to get this, it may not be right now, but as restrictions are lifted I think we'll see another wave (the peak of this one is yet to come), but this virus isn't going anywhere, and the lethal potential in our household means we are pretty worried about this. We are scheduled to begin the bone marrow transplant process in about a month at the U of M children's hospital in Ann Arbor, but I'm not sure with the virus blowing up on that side of the state if that timeline will be impacted, should find out in a week at a video conference with his docs. Suffice to say, it is a scary time for us.

He’s right about the SBA changes. And the back end bits are a little funky. Developers all over Fintech are scrambling this week to develop methods to accept online apps. -- I always prefer reality when I can figure out what it is. Went to mass online last Sunday at the home parish. This morning... Live Mass: Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord Join Campus Chaplain Father Thomas More Barba, O.P., BA ’09 ’10, this Sunday, April 5, from inside UD's Church of the Incarnation via YouTube Live. Sunday, April 5 at 10:00am (central) https://calendar.udallas.edu/e...he_lord#.XonlIHJ7lPY "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor
