Noted.

I just came from Afghanistan, and saw few tourists. Some do refrain from going places because of what might happen. Wisely so.

The leader of the North Carolina protests got the virus...while leading the protests.

Precautions are wise. Thus far, those who have paid the largest price are those who can't take precautions.

And those who won't.

The news only reported that she was diagnosed with it and in self quarantine and not a word since.. Given the dishonesty of the press and state government, I tend to believe she is not actually ill until shown otherwise. If she were ill, it would be all over the news here and being used to frighten and discourage more protests.

Stopped at a gun shop in the Portland-area today and got to stand in the rain for about 40 minutes, waiting to get in; they open at 11a and when I got there about 11:08, there was already about 12 people in line and a bunch of people sitting in their cars waiting out the rain (good luck with that - it's Oregon Roll Eyes ). Only a couple folks were wearing masks. The store would only allow one person per sales clerk in the store unless you were a couple; there were 5 clerks.

I finally made it in and within 10 minutes had selected my new Glock, filled out my forms and then was told my background was in the queue which was running about a 2-hour wait Frown So I left my number and went did a bunch of errands, then went back to pick up my gun 3.5 hours later Mad When I went to pickup my gun, there was still a long line outside the store - no one wearing masks. By the way, one of the people that I saw wearing a mask was in the store the same time I was and basically was walking around with his mask pulled down while arguing with the clerk trying to help him that he shouldn't have to enter his physical address in his 4473 and that it should be ok to enter his PO box...right when I thought they were going to throw him out, he finally relented - what a moron Roll Eyes

I used my GSSF coupon and got a smoking deal on a Glock 45 with factory installed Ameriglo Agent sights Cool

*if you're thinking about buying a couple or more Glocks within a year or two, it's definitely worth joining GSSF to get the discounts!!!

Yes, I saw something that indicated the leader was asymptomatic, but wanted confirmation, because, frankly, imho, that would prove their point.. be responsible, but don’t completely shut yourself from life outside.

Got a call back from Google today, interview set for two Mondays from now. Fingers crossed.

Joked with the wife. I don't know why they need to interview me, they already have a dossier on me.

Sorry to hear that. I've been trying for nearly a month to get that. Been declined, filed an appeal, looks like I might have an answer by July.

Never been unemployed for more than 24 hours since I was 15 years old.

Fuck. This. Shit.

Here in UK, with over 30,000 dead so far, everywhere locked down and empty streets, you may well be aggrieved that I'm not totally pleased to read that your gunstores are open, and folks are still having fun on their ranges.

Here, essential stores are open, including food stores, tire depots and pharmacies, but that's about it. We heard today that 'facilities' like venues where people might just congregate, for example, ANY range, are likely to be closed until at least the end of July, maybe into August or September. There are no public transport buses around here, and the police have emergency powers of arrest and forced return-to-home policies in place, in case you are caught out, like a pair of klutzes last weekend, driving 200 miles to their favourite fish and chip shop on the other side of the country.

It is remarkably less than fun, living here, and most of the rest of Europe, TBH, so when I say that I'm truly all busted up inside to read about the problems you seem to have buying a new gun or three, and then having to wait a couple of hours for it to process, you can take it to the bank that I'm not exactly telling you the truth.

My 6 months pregnant wife is about to lose her shit with 3 and 5 year old little boys that can’t go to any community parks to expend energy because our tyrannical POS Governor closed then all on March 19th.

We found a place with a walking/biking/running trail on Saturday and they loved it and on Monday my wife found a park that didn’t appear to be closed and took the kids there along with her sister and her kids and played. Would you believe the police and a Parks employee vehicle came driving by several times? I’ll bet you those fuckers chained and padlocked every bit of the place after they left.

THIS SHIT NEEDS TO END NOW. Not next week or next month. FUCKING RIGHT NOW! Mad

Believe it. Every gmail ever sent or received, search history, porn habits, all of it.

Good luck with the interview, you wouldn't have gotten that far with any nasty skeletons in your data.

Reading some stories about the bar and nail salon in Texas being shut down again at gun point by the brown shirts really set me off.
I'm not going to shed one tear when the citizens finally have enough and start defending their freedom with violence.
I'm thankful my business hasn't been harassed by the Führer's cronies as I'd probably go full Roof Top Korean on them.

Man, in the most friendly way possible... you've been running a 13 on a 10pt scale since the beginning. You need an emergency friend intervention... go rub one out, smoke a joint, ride your bicycle, not all at once, but find something before you blow a gasket. I legit don't know anyone as worked up as you and Skins have been throughout, and I'm not fucking with you at all. I was thinking/worrying about you a half dozen times in recent weeks.

No joke. No bullshit. Do something, for yourself, and find some way to chill the fuck out. Offending or annoying us is less the issue than your own sanity (so to speak, I'm not calling you crazy).

There's a lot of people who are never going to recover mentally from this already. I had to go down to the Mail Station yesterday to fax some important documents. I was standing in the rope barrier feeling like a head of cattle while the lady was faxing my stuff when one other person came in and we were chatting while we waited.

Then a lady came in and with mask, gloves a big hat and her coat buttoned up to her chin and stood just inside the door about twenty feet behind us. Her eyes were like silver dollars she was frightened to death. She must have sat at home for two days working up the courage to go outside.

I finished my business and headed for the door when she promptly turned around went back outside and I kid you not trotted about a half block down the street before she stopped and watched me get in my car and leave. Roll Eyes

Well, I appreciate your concern (I'll take your word for it that you're sincere), but the truth is I'm perfectly fine. Better than most probably, even if my posts might convey otherwise. My family is healthy and happy, I have plenty of income (for the moment), the weather is beautiful here in Utah, and things here are beginning to open. In fact, as I type this, I just walked out of my dentist appointment and have scheduled my next one. This afternoon I'm going to go for a nice long bike ride and may even hit the gym if my muscles feel up to it. My wife and I are even planning a little camping trip up north in the next couple of weeks.

So I'm good, man. But I'm no less angry at the insanity going on all around us, and as an American, I have no desire to keep that bottled up. However, I'll spare the forum any more of my rantings on the matter.

Openly Gay (actually claims to be bi-sexual and is married to a man), a tyrant, and dishonorable person.

She got her office when as Secretary of State for Oregon reported the Governor for ethics violations thus she ended up serving the last two years of his term. She was then voted in by the leftists in Oregon.

She is mad that the conservatives in Oregon legislature (Republican and Democrat alike) walked out of session to deny a vote on a very bad bill (Cap & Trade); so now she is taking her wrath out on the people.

Yep. Is married but has no problem stepping out to toss the occasional salad on the side. That was her only qualification to be governor. And lots of folks liked it.

Now that cunt has extended her state of emergency powers through July 6th. Sure, she placates the masses by saying that time frame is flexible. Bullshit, she will hold on to her new found powers like grim death.

I've no room to complain as I'm considered essential and still working, so I won't.

But what I see others going through, and seeing the storm clouds of economic disaster gathering on the horizon breaks my heart.

What's happening right now is just the start, all because a few lust for total control. HEADS. ON.PIKES.NOW. Mad

If these people get proper help, ie clinical psychologist they will do okay. Prior to COVID 19 there were people with agoraphobia, who were afraid to leave their homes. Obviously, their condtion has gotten worse.

Yeah watching your savings dwindling for what appears to be a complete waste of time and money will do that to you. You have no idea how hard it was to pay off all debt and put away an emergency fund. Now that emergency fund is going the wrong way thanks to this COVID19 BS. Besides watching my personal savings get burned up, I'm watching friends and family lose their businesses or nest eggs. This whole situation is fucked. At first it was an unknown, and we needed to prepare for the worst, now it's a power grab for wannabe dictators at everyone's expenses. I went from cautious and prepared to fucking pissed off.

*****

Back to why I actually revisited this thread. Got another interview setup today! Zoom meeting with VP and head of HR for a company I'm excited to apply for. I hope/wish I have multiple suitors to choose from. Slight change in professions so I'd be happy for just one to decide I was worth the investment.

Feeling much better today than I was just two days ago. Had talk with wife today that I couldn't take it anymore and was just going to go back to work even if it was only a day or two a week or any hours I could get.
