Without any fanfare (no "special event"), Apple today unveiled its latest iteration of the iPhone SE.

Story here: https://www.foxnews.com/tech/a...mored-sub-400-iphone

At long last, maybe there is my long-awaited replacement for the 6s I've toted for the past five years.

If I had not gotten such a killer deal on the iPhone X from Spectrum Mobile, I would be on this faster than a NYC taxi driver can blow his horn.

I'll wait to see how it shakes out in reviews, but this may be a contender for us upgrading our iPhone 6S'.

I will be getting one of those, we recently and finally got rid of our work phones I hated carrying two phones, and the battery in my (personal) iphone 7 is no good, and I like the smaller size.

Order will be placed!

I may have to look into this as I still have a 6...
Does anyone have any idea of when Apple will come out with a 5G phone? That’s what I’m really waiting for.

When I went with Spectrum Mobile, I did not give up the Verizon network. Spectrum (Charter) is a MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator), re-selling air time on the Verizon network.

So I get Verizon coverage at a much lower price, and my limited experience with Spectrum customer service has been way better than my dealings with Verizon.

Same here, 6S Plus with a relatively new battery (and front screen since the Geek Squad damaged it during the battery replacement).

Its still working fine so far but I'm sure in a year or two it'll need a replacement.

Apple already has a deal for less than $400 (if you have someone in the family who is a veteran) by trading in your older phone (obviously if it qualifies).

Back in at the beginning of the year on the Apple site I noticed a deal on upgrading to iPhone XRs.

Apple bought back all 4 of our iPhone 7 Plus models (they went into cases the day we bought them and were clean) for I believe around $160 each, gave me a veteran's 10% discount and then gave us some other promotional knock-off on the price. Apple uses ID.me to verify veteran status, btw.

We ordered unlocked iPhone XRs online and picked them up at the local Apple store at Ross Park Mall in Mccandless PA. We received shipped boxes to ship the buyback phones back to Apple within two days. I had to pay the total price at purchase, but within a week I received the rebates for all phones.

It gave me a price of around $365 each for iPhone XR 64GBs. Well below $400. Wife/sons were all happy and the phones have much better batter life and performance.
We tend to keep phones a while before upgrading- (our family motto is "numquam reddere retail")

And what you just stated proves it’s not just a renamed iPhone 8. Thank you!

5G is supposed to be in the fall planned release. Supposedly Chinese production is ramped back up.

5G, some Wuhuflu and paying FOXCONN some money - how sweet is that?

And support for 2G, 3G, and 4G LTE bands the iPhone 8 did not.

I guess your "reasoning" is that, because it has the same overall dimensions as an iPhone 8 it is therefor a renamed iPhone 8?

I guess that means both of them are really renamed iPhone6S', because the physical dimensions are nearly identical and the screen dimensions are identical.

Roll Eyes indeed.

me too, xfinity also uses verizon towers.

i've found that xfinity tech support is nowhere as good as verizon & i've been with verizon since gte days.

Not being a kool-aid drinking Apple fanboy, I referred to the Apple website to discover all the new 'groundbreaking' features. It does have a great price though... Wink

We've had both the iPhone 6S and iPhone 7 in my household, and both supprted 3G & 4G LTE....2G, please, you can't be serious!

Oh, by the way, 2G was introduced in 1992 and 4G LTE had widespread availability in the US in 2011.

Does 2G + 3G = 5G? Roll Eyes
