Hey, at least on the bright side, you'll probably not need to include a lot of sunscreen products, though I'd suggest adding the foul weather gear as a substitute Smile

Just curious if going behind her back to cancel the flight for yourself and your kids would be an option. It's not something I would make a habit of but putting the kids in danger like that isn't cool. I would think if you canceled your and your kids' flights, you wouldn't be able to re-book those and therefore can't go. That either forces her and her sister and brother in law to go themselves or everyone cancels.

I assume you have the ability to do so since you are the father and the airline shouldn't have an issue with that.

Hurricane Andrew, almost the same path and strength, in 1992 blew down 50 foot pine trees in our backyard in Valdosta Georgia, 200 miles north.

I wouldn't do it. If it works out understand its because you are extremely fortunate, not because its a good idea.

Wondering if he has left or not. If they went they may get lucky as it looks like the storm track has changed toward the north a bit. No recent replies tells me they’re on their way, just a guess

Exactly. Sometimes you are just lucky. I see it all the time with human behavior.

He’s going or has gone. That was apparent when his wife said he had a bad attitude. She seems like the type that would go to LA after The Big One and bitch about service.
Good luck to him. In every way imaginable.

I think you will get in and out OK with the current track. Unless it turning inland your get some good winds and lots of rain.

Looks like Sunday/Monday may be shit days with nothing to do. which could suck with kids in a hotel.

I sat through a Cat 1 a few years back in Mexico. We were in a house right on the beach. Our plans for the last 2-3 days went to crap. It was fun watching how the locals got their boats out of the water. Basically a bunch of logs and people. Logs went under the boat as it was pushed. When the logs at the back where no longer under the boat they were moved to the front. Watched them move some boats a few hundred yards into the "jungle".

And leave the kids at the hotel? I think this guys wife even tells him what time he can brush his teeth.

That’s a bit rude. I get it. I really do. But planning a Disney trip with little ones is a huge undertaking. I totally understand trying to make it work. The expense and time commitment are not easily changed. It’s really a catch 22. Hurricanes are unpredictable and imagine cancelling after a year of planning and it takes a turn and Disney isn’t touched. No one would be happy. It’s hard to see the true threat beforehand. He took a chance and likely it will pay off. Of course it could go bad But insulting his marriage isn’t helping anyone.

These go to eleven.

Yes, we are here at Universal’s Cabana Bay Resort and had a great day at the pool and the coming week is looking better and better the more Dorian moves away from Florida.

That’s a real dickhead comment there jimmy123x as you don’t know me or my family.

I’d really appreciate you refraining from any more comments in my thread as you’ve proven to be an asshole and if I’ve got to get Para involved, so be it.

Well, I’m glad that it seems you guys made it ok, and I hope the storm does veer off to the East. I hope your trip is a great one, and that your return trip is also timely and uneventful.
Have fun!

Looks like you got lucky. Glad it worked out.

You weren't wrong to strongly consider not going. With the info you had, it looked more likely to be a bad week.
