And now it’s official, the State of Michigan's is asking residents to house and support them.

State of Michigan asks for volunteers to help house migrants
By Fox 2 StaffPublished February 19, 2024 1:55PMFOX 2 Detroit

The Office of Global Michigan is looking for resident volunteers to house migrants in their homes and help integrate them into US society.

The Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Development says residents who participate must make a 90-day commitment. As part of the refugee support program, residents are asked to help with relocation needs due to the border crisis, and make a home in the state.

Residents are asked to meet the person or family at the airport, helping find housing, enroll children in school, and help with finding employment for adults as part of the Welcome Corps.

"The Office of Global Michigan’s goal is to make Michigan the home for opportunity for our immigrant, refugee and ethnic communities," said Poppy Hernandez, Michigan’s Chief Equity and Inclusion Officer and Director of the Office of Global Michigan. "With expanded refugee resettlement pathways, everyday Michiganders can provide refuge and build a state where people are welcomed with open arms."

Other ways to help sponsor an individual or family through the CHNV program for Cuban, Haitian, Nicaraguan, or Venezuelan Nationals. Residents can also sponsor an individual or family from Ukraine.

Also available is Michigan's Ambassadors and Allies program, to "become an ambassador and share your sponsorship experience in the community," while "allies and recruiters can support by being welcoming, recruiting, volunteering, donating, or mentoring refugees.

Big Gretch has the Governor’s mansion in Lansing, a summer residence on Mackinaw Island if I remember correctly, a personally owned vacation house in the T.C. area and probably a personally owned primary residence.

Lead by example I always said……

I wonder if our Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State or the Secretary of Labor here will step up to the plate?

I can answer that with a two letter word……

NYC's Non-Citizen Voting Law Struck Down By Appeals Court

quote:

New York City's law that lets non-citizens vote in local elections hit a brick wall on Wednesday, as a state appeals court ruled it violates the state's constitution. Approved in Dec. 2021 by a 33-14 city council vote, the controversial law had not yet been put into practice, owing to an injunction imposed in 2022 by a lower court on Staten Island.

“We determine that this local law was enacted in violation of the New York State Constitution and Municipal Home Rule Law, and thus, must be declared null and void,” wrote Appellate Judge Paul Wooten in the 43-page ruling.

The measure would have allowed approximately 800,000 non-citizens to vote in city elections. The law limited that new privilege to permanent legal residents of the United States, and those with federal work authorization. Republican party officials quickly sued, arguing the city was acting beyond its authority. On Wednesday, the New York appeals court upheld the 2022 ruling.

“I won baby, I won,” Staten Island Republican and NY City Council GOP Leader Joe Borelli told Politico in an interview from Israel, where he and other officials are surveying the damage from the Oct 7 Hamas invasion (that may be irrelevant to the needs of Staten Islanders, but treating Israel like America's 51st state is highly relevant to his aspirations for higher office.) “This was an easy case. All they had to do was read the state constitution and municipal law."

Maybe one day we will figure out those pesky root causes that Kamala is tracking down.

At theis point the only conclusion I can draw is that it's definitely not caused by granting voting rights; work permits; providing drivers licenses; giving out $10,000 prepaid cards; free housing; free medical; tuition assistance; or the wheelbarrows full of cash we are giving them. No way in the world those actions could lead someone to believe they are welcomed to violate our laws and cross the border without proper paperwork. If we just figure out those root causes the problem will pretty much solve itself. Why must they be so damn illusive?

No more asking, we're in crisis. It should be more of a draft. Known Democrat voters should be selected through a draft system and assigned an illegal. They will then be fully responsible for them. Jail time for neglecting them, and financially responsible for any criminal acts.

Mayor of Denver laughs off optics of taking work away from Americans or legal workers in order to give to the illegals. All while blaming Republicans for his actions. That's not a bad look at all, I'm sure your citizens are thrilled to hear their neighbors are without work in order to give to the 'migrants'.

Saw this earlier. The worst part about it, he says "We're not laying anyone off, but we may cut hours to 0, in some cases" in regards to city employees...

And since it’s an hour cut and not a layoff I’ll bet they can’t get unemployment either.
