Of course, Leftist Media sources NEVER provide the 'real story', OR the truth! They're just mouthpieces spreading the preferred narrative for the Leftists in charge anyway!

And, blaming Gaetz for it all isn't taking into consideration that Nancy and the D could have voted to keep McCarthy vs banding with the group that wanted him out, helping solidify the relationship between parties and squelching the problems with minority groups in the house.

But they decided to back it to help escalate the issue, knowing that voting in a new speaker would be difficult based on McCarthys vote count.

Doesn't matter though, Jordan pulled out of the race now backs McHenry for speaker

No. He didn't pull out. He simply agreed to allow McHenry to have more power as an interim, temporary speaker. Jordan is still very much in the race for Speaker.

Asked what he expected as he entered a closed-door meeting with other Republicans, Jordan said only, "I'm not gonna know until I talk to my colleagues."

In that meeting, Jordan said he would not seek a third vote to win the post and instead will back a plan to empower McHenry to hold the post until January, according to Republican Representative Jim Banks.

McHenry is currently serving as acting speaker.

Thanks RINO's!

For the record, there is NOTHING in the Constitution, and NO ‘Rule’ or Law that exists which would prevent the House of Representatives from conducting regular business while an Interim Speaker is in place…And NOTHING prevents the 'Interim Speaker' from presiding over such 'regular business' either! It's all purely at the will and discretion of the Majority party.

BS.

BS is an opinion. My opinion differs. The fact remains that Matt Gaetz, Jordan et al did side with the Democrats.

Why do people keep saying this stupid shit?

The democrats will never vote for a Republican speaker. Never. 100% of the time. You know it, I know it, and everyone knows it.

To say that any Republican is "siding" with them is...well...stupid. Are the 20 who voted against Jordan "siding with the Democrats"?

I'd say that it is apparent that McCarthy and Scalise are "siding with the Democrats" by undermining any attempt to get any speaker. I watched an interview with that smug SOB a little while ago and it is perfectly clear that that is what he is doing. Where's the hatred for him?

McCarthy wants this mess so that he can try to make Gaetz look bad. "All the Democrats and eight of those crazies led by Gaetz..." is what he said. "Eight of those crazies led by Gaetz". That's what he thinks of his colleagues. That's what he thinks of the American people who support them.

Pelosi saying Jordan would be "disastrous" as speaker is all you need to know.

He's the guy for it.

I will laugh my ass off if them stabbing McCarthy in the back ends up landing Jordan at the helm. Mother of all backfires for the left.

The House Will Hold a Third Vote for Jim Jordan as Speaker Nominee Tomorrow, Friday, at 10:00am ET

After a lengthy and often combative GOP conference earlier today, Jim Jordan’s office has announced there will be a 3rd vote for House Speaker Friday at 10:00am.

“The House will vote Friday at 10 a.m. on a third speaker ballot, according to Jordan’s spokesman.” {link}

The UniParty Republicans had earlier floated an interim proposal to grant temporary House Speaker Patrick McHenry with additional authorities which would gain Democratic vote support. The concept was to get the House through a round of funding for Israel and Ukraine aid and avoiding a shutdown, until January. However, that effort fell short as the non UniParty Republicans would not agree to the plan.

Jordan spoke briefly about that issue following the conference meeting. WATCH (46 secs):

(Via Politico) – […] Republicans are split. Jordan, for now, isn’t ready to call it quits, and some of his backers are gearing up for trench warfare.

“I can tell you, nobody in our conference can get to 217 on two rounds, and three legislative days. So I think he deserves more time,” Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), a Jordan ally, told reporters. “I’m in favor of trying. For Jordan, I would go at least another week.”

Yet his opponents insist there is no negotiation to be had that would result in him winning the gavel. They’ve already detailed death threats and intimidation efforts that they say have only hardened their anti-Jordan stance. (read more)

The House GOP Speaker’s race is a system of conniving and positioning for a cushy committee assignment, indulgences from the lobbyist control apparatus, office locations and Machiavellian influence for the best junkets and largest leadership PAC deposits. That’s the truth, the non-pretending truth about the system at work behind the GOPe House Speaker vote.

Who are the semiconscious "Republicans" voting for Scalise, Mccarthy, and others. Keep fucking around morons. May be the only thing that would work for these assholes, all of them, Dems included, would be to draw a name out of a hat.

Neither planning nor unity is a Republican Party strong suit, is it. Looks like Gaetz et al. would’ve worked something up beforehand.

It's actually worse than that.

Because they don't have everyone there, the threshold was 214 and on a percentage basis, this is his worst showing.

I listened to an interview this morning and he said that he's talked to all of the holdouts over their objections to Jordon, and most everyone said Jordon would great but still aren't voting for him for petty reasons. Hurt feelings, January 6, not liking McCarthy and now that McCarthy nominated Jordon, he gets a no. All stupid stuff.

Like I said back in Jan, the Republicans are dysfunctional and can't muster 218 votes. Nothing will get done and this virtually guarantees a CR before Thanksgiving.

The holdouts, even if done on principle, have no answers or solutions that will get through the Senate. I can be as staunchly conservative on any issues and stand tall but it's means squat unless the legislation is passed.

I'm rather proud that I'm not registered with any party since I'm not bound by party loyalty to follow a script or have to appease any bases.
