I was watching the Sunday news shows and all the pundits bring up the notion that not standing for the National Anthem is protected by the 1st Amendment. That doesn't apply in the workplace - your workplace is not a democracy and you can't fall back on the constitution when you are on the boss' time. If you don't believe it call the boss a a__hole and tell him you're protected by the 1st Amendment. See how long you keep your job after you do that. The point I'm trying to make is that the owners can put a stop to this any time they want. Tell the players we'll support any protest you make on your time but when you're in my stadium you are on my time and you will follow my rules. Or go find another job. I think some others have already raised this point but I think it's worth noting again.

At the risk of "virtue signaling," or some such snowflake label, I'll ask this: If I stood still with hand over heart during the singing of the national anthem before tonight's Redskins game, does that somehow offset someone else's taking a knee? God bless America.

W. T. F. Even the singer of the Anthem took a knee! http://abcnews.go.com/US/singe...ee/story?id=50065070 Meghan Linsey, the singer performing “The Star-Spangled Banner" at Sunday’s Seattle Seahawks and Tennessee Titans game in Nashville, took a knee on a field with no players present after finishing her rendition of the national anthem. Collecting dust.

yes, just read that about the Seahawks/Titans. The Seahawks, Titans, including all coaches, staff, all players - skipped the national anthem. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/0...anthem-protests.html In Washington, the entire offensive line of the Oakland Raiders, the only line in the N.F.L. made up entirely of African-American players, was joined by virtually the entire team in kneeling or sitting during the national anthem before their game against the Washington Redskins. It was one of the strongest visual displays of the many protests today, and across the field, the Redskins stood with linked arms as some players chose to kneel. Many fans in attendance at FedEx Field could be heard booing the players while they sat. Michelle Tafoya reported that Raiders Coach Jack Del Rio told her the Raiders players would have preferred to stay in the locker room, but because of the timing of prime time television they would have likely incurred a delay of game penalty. ****************** Seahawks: “As a team, we have decided we will not participate in the national anthem. We will not stand for the injustice that has plagued people of color in this country. Out of love for our country and in honor of the sacrifices made on our behalf, we unite to oppose those that would deny our most basic freedoms. We remain committed in continuing to work towards equality and justice for all. Respectfully, The Players of the Seattle Seahawks.” ************* came back to add: What insanity that NFL teams hide in their locker room to avoid embarrassing themselves during the playing of the national anthem. And then they talk about "unity".

If the players really wanted to stand for something, they would skip every game altogether.

IMAGINE THAT... #TakeTheKnee is trending #1 and #BoycottNFL is being censored by twitter and not trending with over 75+ tweets a min! #BoycottNFL "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

Owners have no incentive to do that when a payer who can help win is involved. That back up catcher in Oakland is easy to get rid of, but if your best players are involved, you would rather sell your grandkids than bench or fine one of the stars. Look what the Patriots did to spare Tom Brady, or the Cowboys are doing for their guy. This message has been edited. Wow. The NFL truly jumped the shark today. I used to be a dedicated NFL Sunday Ticket subscriber. Dumped it a couple of years ago. At this point I have not watched a single game this season. After today, I will not watch any. Period. No playoffs, no Super Bowl - the NFL can fuck right off. I'll find better things to do. Today I took my daughter to the driving range and then grilled some nice NY strips for all of us. Went across the street to drop off the steak leftovers to my neighbor for his dogs and we sat down and had a beer. He asked if I watched any football today. I said no, and he said the same thing. When I saw online that Odell Beckham got on all fours and pretended to piss like a dog, I knew I made the right decision. This and no other is the root from which a tyrant springs; when he first appears above ground he is a protector. Plato

How I hope that the rebellion against the NFL seen on SigForum is seen throughout the country. This stuff is just anti-American, there's no other interpretation in my opinion. I look forward to hearing what happens to attendance and ratings. The Left has politicized everything. You can't escape it going to movies, watching TV, going to a concert, going to a football game. Everything is designed and built to show the moral superiority of the Left over normal Americans, when the exact opposite is the case. Send your kids to public school, they will be indoctrinated; send them to college, you will lose them. We have to fight back with every breath. _________________________ “ What all the wise men promised has not happened, and what all the damned fools said would happen has come to pass.”— Lord Melbourne

And this is how real men handle this BS with their employees. My hat's off to all of these owners for doing the right thing. NASCAR owners warn teams: Anthem protests could get you fired Excerpt 1: Richard Childress team owner of drivers Ryan Newman, Austin Dillon and Paul Menard and longtime car owner of Dale Earnhardt, said any protest of the anthem will "get you a ride on a Greyhound bus.” Excerpt 2: Hall of Fame driver Richard Petty and current team owner of the No. 43 Cup Series team of Aric Almirola agrees with Trump. “Anybody that don’t stand up for the anthem oughta be out of the country. Period. What got ’em where they’re at? The United States," Petty said, adding that any protester within his organization would be fired. Hey pussy NFL owners, enjoy your slide into the cesspool. ----------------------------- Guns are awesome because they shoot solid lead freedom. Every man should have several guns.
