Another question, if he was there since Thursday; did the room cleaners not go into the room in four days?

I always put the little "Do not disturb" sign on my door, but I'm somewhat surprised they didn't open to resupply towels or something.

Is this one big hotel room or several rooms?

Very sad day. What motivates a person to even contemplate this let alone carry it out? Must be one sick fuck. This tragedy is far from over.

I would imagine over the next few days we will start getting a picture of who this nut was. I'm sure the security footage will show him and how he got the weapons up to the room.

Thoughts and prayers to the injured and the families of the slain.

There's an open lot across the street from Luxor and just south of Tropicana. It's a small rectangular space that butts up against Las Vegas Blvd and the fence line of the private plane area of McCarran airport. The shooter was set-up in the hotel, shooting across LV Blvd down into this open lot.

Isn't this the space where they set up and film the Finals for American Ninja?

Huh....
Doesn't the typical radical Islam shooter usually make some sort of statement or video or shout Allahu Akbar or something?

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

One room is my understanding.

There is an open area that I think is the NE corner of that intersection and across from the hotel. It's where the have concerts and the Ninja Warrior type events.

I"m not sure but, that's a workable space for such a venue.

I have stayed in Vegas many times. I have a friend in Vegas who I go and shoot with. I have easily had that many guns in the hotel rooms there. kept them in the rooms because they are safer than keeping them in cars.

Most good hotels have a policy where they have to clean the room every so often but those policies are more strenuously enforced in the long stay hotels. A big hotel with complete turn over every couple of days would be hard to keep up with.

Just discovered this news story right now on the forum, haven't turned on the TV or seen any news sites. Reading through the details here, the above quote struck me the most.

I've left the do not disturb sign on for a week and room service never entered.

Agreed. If this were an apartment building that overlooked a concert and he just lost his mind and started shooting because of it, that I'd consider "snapped". But this took lots of time and preparation.

I've kept that do not disturb sign on my door sometimes for three to four days at a time. The cleaning people will not enter as long as that sign is on your door.

This is just crazy, I know there are usually several mass shootings a year, but I don't typically have someone I know in the middle of it.

He has sent me some videos of him and his wife running for shelter with the gunfire in the background, he asked that I not share so I wont, but it sends chills down my spine.
