Cops got him.

Officers say Paddock was shot and killed after they breached a room in the hotel, where he had stashed an 'arsenal' of weapons used during the massacre.

I've already turned off the news this morning. Fox rolled out a panel of, "Experts". One stated that he could tell by the sound and rate of fire that it was an AK-47. He then went on to bloviate about how Las Vegas casinos spend a lot of money securing their money but little to secure their guests. He started to demand bag checks at all hotels, etc.

Thoughts and prayers to those who are affected. Bless the first responders and medical staff.

They’re saying (on fox) that he had shooting platforms set up to fire from, 8 long guns and cameras set up to alert him to police coming. Guy had to be planning and setting up for a while.

Indonesian “girlfriend” in custody. Israeli news mentioned early on that shooter was recent convert to Islam - no confirm on that. News now saying can’t confirm whether killed by police or killed himself - stated that he had camera system looking out into hall, so most likely knew they were coming in.

LVPD knew where to go because the smoke detector in the room went off.

We will learn a lot more about this guy in the next few days, until then, we shouldn't speculate, as the MSM is doing.
Prayers for the Victims...

It just makes me sad.

The rate and duration of fire does NOT sound to ME like an AK or AR platform... way more than 30 rounds in one burst. But I don’t have nearly the experience other here have.

The sound of the shots are very clear on several videos. Any inaight as to the weapon(s) used?

I agree.

This cowardly murderer clearly planned this act of terrorism for quite a while.

I will continue to update my summary on page 2 of this thread as more verified information becomes available.

Lets not worry about what he used right now, imstead lets think what would we do in a similar situation; he had a high angle on everyone, and i wouldn't shoot a pistol into a hotel.

The best choice would to be distance yourself and cover and conceal.

I pray for the families involve in this, and am thankful for the cops that responded, i cant imagine what was going through rhier heads
