Next up are job titles and military ranks.

Roll Eyes Commander in Chief, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Petty Officer to list a few.

And we can't leave out Master Chief from the Halo video game.

I can't even describe how disgusted by this I am. I could write a book on it. Rather than annoying everyone with a long diatribe. I'm just going to remember the games I attended, the bonds formed, the family time, the friendships, the unity felt, the highs, the lows, the anticipation, the high fives, the cookouts, the tailgates, riding the Metro, seeing Chief Zee, the street performers on the way into RFK, the thrill of victory, and all the other memories.

I don't know what I'll do going forward. I know I will never buy a piece of merchandise again. Unlikely if I'll watch this season, both for the name issues, and the general NFL pandering. Next year and beyond, I don't know, but it doesn't look promising.

Arrrrrrrghhhh.

Skins it’s actually a lot easier than you think to delete them from your life. The NFL managed to turn me from a rabid fan to someone who isn’t just uninterested but now hopes to see the league go under and collapse entirely under the weight of their own stupidity.

I understand there are some public companies who have announced they will come up with a new title to replace the "Chief" in CEO, COO, CFO, etc.

Just read that there were people who anticipated this forced name change and trademarked most names you might think of for Washington’s team. Snyder reportedly has a “preferred” name and is in negotiations to obtain the rights to it. Whatever name is selected, it’s likely that Snyder will have to pay for it.

They raise AntiFa blood pressure. Packers? Don't want to upset the gays. The worst are the Dolphins cause they made Hootie cry.
Can't believe the Chiefs are going to escape the chopping block. I'm triggered.....

The Chief's are named after a KC Mayor who was nicknamed "The Chief"... Not that the left would allow facts to stand in the way - Plus the team has dared to use American Indian imagery.

Their uniforms are red so it is clearly in reference to the redskins racial slur... Cancel the chiefs.

Several Cities have already banished the word chief in titles.

City of Duluth. Less than thirty minutes from me. I've often wished Lake Superior would swallow that city up like it did the Edmund Fitzgerald. Actually it's a nice city but under the management of a liberal driven mayor and city council for years it's become like every other liberal cess pool.

Curious. Is the title "pipsqueak" offensive?

When you appease the left... you are only hoping that they come for you last.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

I just looked up the etymology of the word Chief. The internet says it is an old French word that has been in use since the 1300's. Why would chief executives have to have their titles changed?

Still a French word that they didn't explicitly invent for an Indian Tribal leader, unless the French were in the New World in the 1300's.

Jessie,

I feel for you. Especially since you took the screen name Skins2881...

There was a time (when JKC owned the team) when I was a volunteer at all Redskins home games. I stood on the railing at RFK when the 'Skins beat the Lions to advance to Super Bowl XXVI. I rode the elevator with Sonny Jurgensen and Sam Huff. I remember Joe Theismann being the last quarterback to wear a single bar faceguard (which didn't help him when Lawrence Taylor broke his leg). Mark Moseley was the last straight-on kicker, and the only kicker ever named League MVP. I went to a gym where several players worked out (Charles Mann, Raleigh MacKenzie, Tom Tupa, and where Joe Gibbs was spokesman.

I spent many Sundays in the stands, both at RFK and at Jack Kent Cooke Stadium (which Snyder sold the naming right to FedEx, who has now forced him to change the name).

At one point, I had over 300 Redskins souvenirs. Some of them were stadium give-aways, which made them unique. Snyder did away with the give-aways...

I used to refer to myself as a die-hard Redskins fan. Dan Snyder did his best to kill me.

And now I'm done.

I was at every home game that season. Some of my best memories of my youth were at RFK. The Redskins serve as one of my best memories of my dad. From the time I was a child football Sundays were like a holiday for me. I can't explain it to most people. You might understand, most would not. Hell I even named my pets after Redskins. I had Elsie (LC) the cat, named after Laveranues Coles and had Clinton Tortoise my rescue turtle. Even into adulthood I never missed a game, ever. Every time I would cook out, most times having friends over. 16 games a year times 30+ years from childhood to recently. That's thousands of hours of time, and many more hundreds or thousands spend reading about them or listening to talk radio. Last two years I have faded away from the passion a bit. Now it's pretty much extinguished.

It's like losing a loved one to drugs is the only way I could try and explain it. Just watching slowing the good memories fade, and get replaced with disappointment.
