Not sure if it was posted here but right after the "protests" started the city of Dallas removed the Texas Ranger statue from the main hall at Love Field. I jokingly said it was only a matter of time before they went after the baseball team. Frankly I'm surprised it took this long.

I think we should address the elephant in the room. The Dallas Cowboys name is NOT gender inclusive and to be honest it’s a bit problematic. Maybe a name change to the Dallas “Cowtheys” or “Cowpeople” would be more inclusive?

I saw a pic today that had the Redskins helmet that instead of the NA scene, it had three Redskin Potatoes. They’d still be the Redskins.

These people are just taking everything entirely too far. What’s next? Are they going to demand The Texas Rangers, the law enforcement agency, change their name? At least they are legally protected from disbandment.

This name changing, product re-branding is a never ending road. The only way to win this game is to not play. Those teams and manufacturers who buckled and changed their name or re-branded their product because of the current cancel culture will have to do so again down the road when the cancel culture says so.

Those who don't play along this time will have built an immunity. In the Redskins case they have been badgered for years to change but resisted. Fed Ex was the tipping point here. Fred Smith and Daniel Snyder are bff's and I'm sure this was negotiated between them.

I think Aunt Jemimah and the rest of the food product manufacturers changed without being badgered thinking maybe they were getting out in front of it. Still a mistake in my opinion as you will never please the cancel culture. You have nothing to gain by trying and everything to gain by standing up to them. Ask Goya foods! Big Grin

Yeah... I think one or both of them want to sell their interest and think this must happen in order to get a good price.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

https://www.washingtonpost.com...-redwolves-redtails/

Two people with knowledge of the team’s plans said Sunday that the organization’s preferred replacement name is tied up in a trademark issue, which is why the team couldn’t announce the new name Monday, but that doesn’t necessarily narrow down the list of contenders

Perhaps no replacement name has garnered more support among the fan base since the team announced its review than Red Wolves (or Redwolves)

Red Tails a name rooted in history. The name would celebrate the Tuskegee Airmen, the nation’s first African American aerial combat unit

Warriors was considered one of the leading contenders from the outset of the team’s review.

In other news, the NBA has a list of approved social messages that can be placed on Jerseys.

If I were in the NBA, I'd mention something about Nike Child Slave Labor in Asia, but that's just me.

In a Morning Consult poll conducted July 7-9, days after the NFL team announced a formal review of its name, 49 percent of U.S. adults said the team should keep the Redskins moniker.

By comparison, 29 percent of respondents said the team should change its name.

Self-identified NFL fans reported similar feelings on the question…

The only way that any of this nonsense and bull shit will stop, is for fans to walk away. Stop attending events, stop buying merchandise etc. and let the money go away and the teams lose their asses financially.

If teams change names, they should pay fans for all monies fans spent on merchandise in the last few years.

So it looks like "turd sandwich" isn't gaining much traction. I guess my second choice would be the foreskins.
