Several NFL stars are reportedly considering not playing until Colin Kaepernick and Eric Reid are signed by teams.

According to columnist Shaun King, the protesting players are hoping that up to 25 per cent of the league will join them in sitting out.

In 2016, Kaepernick drew worldwide attention and sparked a protest movement after he began to kneel during the national anthem to raise awareness of racial equality and police brutality.

He has been without a team since leaving the San Francisco 49ers in March 2017, with Reid, who joined his teammate in kneeling, also still unsigned.

Kaepernick filed a grievance back in October, saying that teams have conspired to keep him out of the NFL because of his protests.

Documents from the lawsuit showed that several teams considered Kaepernick a starting-caliber quarterback when he was made a free agent ahead of the 2017 season.

Instead of waking up and seeing what is happening to their sport they seem to be getting dumber and dumber. I wonder how many of the players graduated in business? Oh well, I've moved on and I am now having Sunday dates with the wife.

Ya got any money in your mattress? I'll bet you $100 that if they can get enough players to even suggest they 'might' sit out next season, one or more owners will agree to hire Krapernick and Reid. The owners and league have already capitulated to the players while pissing on their fans, and I haven't a single doubt that they'll bend on hiring these two losers when push comes to shove.

I mentioned a page or two back I heard a sports commentator suggest that the owners are pushing hard to expand the NFL into 10 foreign markets, and as such are no longer concerned about winning back American fans. The more I see how the league/owners/players are behaving, the more I believe this is true.

Important note, he left a position with a good team. Being good doesn't mean anyone has to hire you.

Good....
They have the right to quit. Let them. So what?
No one cares.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

I quit watching last year.

I read an article (I couldn't find it just now) where a sports writer talked about his wife and the packers. He stated she doesn't watch anymore. It's not out of protests, the NFL cant win her back. She just doesn't care and has moved on.

I think that is where I am at. However I do care, because I still read threads like this one etc. I miss it but yes, like an old girlfriend, who has been replaced and her picture finally deleted from the phone.

I've moved on.

I bet the owners love this. They are likey dropping highly paid under performing players for new players dying to prove themselves at league minimum.

I liked what Jeff Fisher said about the Anthem. He wasn't the greatest football coach but he tried to teach some important lessons in life.

How dumb would you have to be to blacklist yourself out of a career? That right there is a real-world IQ test: "Hmmmmmm.. do I want to trash my career by violating my contract, or do I let those two idiots reap what they have sown?"

Not going to be a lot of geniuses joining that crusade.
