With mass public murders the motivator is notoriety. I now respond to discussions of banning assault weapons etc with we need media control. Prohibit naming the perp, limit the number of stories per outlet to 1 per day, etc. This gets the discussion off of the tool and onto the reasons. It makes people think rather than just react emotionally.

The bonus is it always brings up the topic of how absolute are Constitutional rights, and challenges the idea of reasonable restrictions.

Yeah I tell people when they bring up guns that we need begin training parents to be better parents. Mandatory classes in nurturing, listening, parents profiling to be aware of traits in active shooters, etc... I love demanding that parents should need a license and income verification to breed. Liberals always say "Well my kids are fine" and "my kids would never do that". Its great to remind them that my guns won't do that either. And no, I am not kidding behind every one of these kids who commit mass homicide is a failed parent who raised a monster and turned them lose on society.

We have to stop playing defense and go on offense. That is why that hate Trump so much. He attacked them and it is the first time they had to play defense and that is why they are still terrified of Trump.

Perhaps parents should need insurance too so they can cover the medical bills of these unfortunate shooting victims after their failed child goes haywire and murders people. yeah it ain't about guns its about lousy parents raising horrible human beings.
