The November bloodbath should be enough to kill anything they come up with before then, yes?

I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all. -Ecclesiastes 9:11

...But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by Him shall glory, but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped. - Psalm 63:11 [excerpted]

In the interest of discussion what changes in current gun laws would you consider? Example Florida enacted Red Flag Laws that have been used 9000 times since the Parkland shootings. No way of proving it, but I'm willing to think that might have saved a life or two. Now I'm willing to discuss Red Flag Laws because its the first time a law has been aimed at those who are acting out in a dangerous manner, and not the law abiding citizen. But, I know the devil is in the details when it comes to laws written by politicians. In Colorado Red Flag laws were proposed which I opposed. The timeline were as follows. Person is reported. Law enforcement shows up takes guns. Court rules on action after the fact. No timeline on when guns to be returned to those deemed not a threat. Well, there is tons of wiggle room for mischief with this model. Red Flag laws must have a judge rule first before property is taken, and a clear timeline for return if the judge rules the person is not a threat for me to even think about supporting such laws. Thougts?

Not one more fucking inch.

Nothing that has been "compromised" has been either beneficial to society, nor prevented anyone from perpetuating an evil act.

And nothing "on the table" or in the "conversation" is going to result in less likely occurrence of atrocities.

No one that has perpetuated any "mass violence" has ever been from the "group" of law abiding, "constitutionalist" or "mainstream firearm owners". All such atrocities have been form those that have exploited the current rights and laws, and will seek and find other means to foment violent acts upon the unsuspecting and ill-prepared.

The "end game" of the leftists, has nothing but the control of people as it's goal. Nothing. Not "sensible, reasonable, common sense, rational" or any other "emotional feel-good" preposition, verbiage interjected into the discussion of the simple minded masses. If you hear such things, better stand up tall and present the "good fight" against it, now, not later. Because, "later" may well be "too late".

That's all.

Anyone who could lose their guns under a red flag law needs to be locked up in a nuthouse. If you don't need to be locked up, then you should not be in danger of losing your guns.

Unless your ex is a vindictive bitch…for instance.

My ex went to my command and complained on the night I was shipping out to a new ship. Cops showed up and took my pistol “for safe keeping”. (I did get it back the next morning). But this type of shit happens all the time.

When I was a cop I saw it every weekend, woman called in and complained about her man hitting her, we’d go in front of the magistrate and the guy would get locked up until Monday when a judge was in…meantime she’s out partying on his dime. The magistrate just passed the buck because someone in the way back time had actually hit his woman and you know how that went.

We're getting ahead of ourselves here. One, there is no legislation written on any of this yet. Two, its not going to be a simple write up and anything written will have to make it through the senate, then back to the house for markup, then be voted on in the senate one last time, all in two weeks prior to the Congressional 'break'. And given this bill includes none of the sacred cow demands of the left (i.e. AR or mag bans, raising the buying age to 21, etc) I have some serious doubts how many of the wingnuts in Congress are going to want to put their name to something that is essentially worthless in accomplishing anything and gives them no big wins, short of spending additional taxpayer money. This is far from over. That said, will someone please primary that POS Lindsay out of office for good. Roll Eyes

I disagree. We are not "getting ahead of ourselves", we are behind the power curve.

Look. Any part of the Constitution, should not fought for or defended from behind, but all that believe and stand for it, should be out in front, defending and fighting for it with the intent that we believe it to be real, relevant and necessary.

And to think that the opposition might ridicule and denigrate anyone that dare defend it?

Yeah, they gonna be stacked deep and wide, because they have a real fear of those that believe.

And well they should.

This shit ain't about T-shirts and bumper stickers...

I look for this to go back to the house after leaving the Senate. At that time the House will try to make it "better". Then it will go back to the Senate where it will be voted down.

As I understand it, the bill only provides money for states to “enhance” their red flag laws. It doesn’t tell them how to enhance them.

Regardless. It’s idiotic, and a loser for Republicans. But there’s a long way to go before it gets signed.

I’d love 1 republican to add the poison pill of taking away the right to vote until 21. Force the Democrats to distinguish one Constitutional right from another.

Also, Democrats won’t be able to help themselves when marking up the bill. They’ll go too far to appease the radicals (always do) and give republicans the cover they need to bail on the whole thing.

Total control. And they cannot do it, until they achieve their goal of total ban of private firearm ownership. Until the people on "our" side wake up and realize this, they will continue to compromise the Second Amendment away, bit by bit, until there is nothing left.
