I have mixed emotions about the loss.

While I hate the kneeling and disrespect they have, I have rooted for the team for a long time.

I never like seeing the USWNT lose.

You guys can flame on me but I coached women’s soccer for 15 years.

When I search my emotions what I find is sadness of what has become the political position of the USWNT…

No flames. I have no investment in soccer at all.

I have always enjoyed cheering for US teams though. Unfortunately this team doesn't represent the US and certainly doesn't represent anything I stand for, so it's easy for me to hope they lose - early and often.

They have decided to be overtly political and to alienate the fans who should be cheering for them. That's their choice and their decision. Rather than being a unifying force, they have chosen to be divisive.

Pick a women's "professional" sport:

These silly people, a good chunk of them at least, spend a fair amount of time begrudging the fact they aren't paid the same as men... All the while, pulling silly anti-American crap like this, which serves no purpose other than further reduce the viewership and their paychecks...

Actually, pick damn near any "professional" sport, male or female.

Best news so far today.

Hell, they just need to compete against boys who barely have hair on their nuts. Last such matchup, these "professional" lost. Razz

Really, doesn't that say it all?

I can't think of anything more disgraceful and Un-American as kneeling to a hateful, Marxist organization like BLM at the Olympics.
These women are gross and cowardly as are the other nations' teams who are simply following along like a bunch of monkeys. This is not bravery. Far from it.

And who is responsible for that? Do you think anyone here would give a tinker's dam about the special-ed groups which comprise women's pro sports if these arrogant, spoiled, entitled bitches hadn't been running their ignorant suck? Again, it's a joke. They got beat by adolescent boys. Come on. Roll Eyes

One thing I can say is that the person in charge of marketing for Subway and choosing Megan Rapinoe for their commercials should be taken out and flogged. What an idiotic move. Frown

I will gleefully cheer against ANY 'US' athlete or team that adopts leftist political ideologies/causes at the expense of national unity.

I would prefer to root for the US teams, but never if they choose to abandon their country and focus instead on their own narrow and selfish interests/causes.

Any American who would kneel for any cause or reason deserves no support. They can surrender all they want to their neo-marxist groups. These surrender monkeys will get no support from me.

Oh, yes, those arrogant little girls are not for the USA, so we're not for them. Hell, if North Korea had a women's soccer team, I'd root for them over these ignorant bitches.

When is their next opportunity to get stomped?

the schadenfreude is rich to be sure

while i do not support the belief prevalent here that ALL the women are spoiled / overpaid / classless / untalented / despicable -- i do think a healthy dose of 'humble pie' may serve them well

imo Carli Lloyd is a class player and has been for many years. quick anecdote -- we went to see the US women's team play like 6 or 7 years ago. after the game the 'famous' players were being guided to an area to sign jerseys / programs etc for 'high dollar' attendees in a certain roped-off end zone area of the field.

Carli went out of her way to jog to the FAR side of the field -- alone -- and signed autographs for 10 minutes for 'regular' fans. I though it was cool she would do that after playing iirc the full 90.

will see how they respond

Yep, and I too remember Subways brilliant move in using the child porn guy Jared Fogle as a spokesman. They were still using him while the FBI was investigating him. That goes beyond bad luck on Subways part.

Their idea of loving and honoring the U.S.A. is far far different from mine.

From the article the Bama posted on the previous page -

Last November, members of the U.S. women’s soccer team notably wore Black Lives Matter jerseys and kneeled for the national anthem in the Netherlands in solidarity with the BLM movement. As The Daily Wire reported:

“We love our country, and it is a true honor to represent America. It is also our duty to demand that the liberties and freedoms that our country was founded on extend to everyone,” read a statement that members of the team posted on social media before the game, which ended in a 2-0 defeat against the Netherlands.

“Today, we wear Black Lives Matter to affirm human decency. We protest against racial injustice and police brutality against Black people. We protest against the racist infrastructures that do not provide equal opportunity for Black and brown people to fulfill their dreams, including playing on this team,” the statement continued.

“As the United States Women’s National team players, we collectively work toward a society where the American ideals are upheld, and Black lives are no longer systematically targeted.”

“Black Lives Matter,” the statement concluded.

It’s nothing but hollow, shallow and virtue signaling platitudes.
