They brought back the SE which has both of these! Got mine yesterday and it is great!!

My next phone will be an iPhone and I have zero Apple stuff. I just hate messing with my Android. My wife gets mildly frustrated with updates but I am pissed off about something Android almost all the time. I just want to turn it on and have it work. Apple fills that bill perfectly.

Have an iPhone 13 Pro. So does the wife. Wife also has an iPad 6 Mini. I even own Apple stock. I also the own Oil, Cigarette and Chemical company stocks so I have no shame.

All the tech companies, of any consequence, here in the Seattle area are liberal and woke. It sucks because it trickles down to schools, local governments and gun laws. We're basically San Francisco north and we're in a food fight with Portland to see which city can be more head up ass. But I digress.

Were on TMobile 55+ (MAXUP)which saves us money over the AT&T plan I had for 20+ years. TMO works well on the road. Canada and Mexico rates are probably included in your plan. My wife just arrived in Philippines and her TMO rate to receive from the US or make a call back to the US is .25/minute when she's not using here Philippine ESIM number.

For an iPhone case that will help your iPhone survive a possible drop onto the cement garage floor, I recommend a Speck case. I use the Speck Presidio2 Grip case.

I'm curious. Why didn't you just upgrade your phone to another Android phone? Short of the draw of the free iPhone, was there another motivation to jump platforms?

Better camera, better everything as far as I can tell.

Regarding data, I got my photos, contacts and calendar stuff. No text messages, but that's no big deal. I still have my old phone if I need to refer to any old text messages, and I can't remember the last time I felt the need to do that.

By the way, the T-Mobile guy strongly recommended an app called Scam Shield, says he uses it and loves it. Any experience with it?

Not here. In looking at the App Store, it is a T-Mobile app. My carrier is Verizon so I’m not familiar with it.

I have my phone set to “silence unknown callers”. I know not everyone can use that feature, but I’m able to and it works great. Any caller not in my contact list goes to v-mail.

I have not used Scam Shield, it appears to be for T-Mobile subscribers. I do use an app that offers similar features.

This one appears to be free for T-Mobile subscribers, so go ahead and use it. You can always delete it later if it does not suit you.

Get the Dark Sky app. The best weather, no ads and very local. Loads quick due to no other crap. One time purchase of 4 or 5 bucks.

I’ve recently started using Apple Pay. You aim the camera at a QR code on a bill and pay without handing anyone you credit card and it sends encrypted info, not your number. Costs you nothing and no one sees or touches your card.

I suppose all carriers do something similar, but T-Mobile does a pretty good job at alerting of scam callers. You always get a notice that such calls are suspected scams and I just dump them. A few get through but are easy to identify and hang up on them. Very few though.

Well, I don't answer any calls from callers I do not recognize. Almost all of those people/places/organizations are in my contacts.

So, maybe I don't really need it.

I finally got tired of the shaming and bought a Glock 19 3 or 4 years ago. I still haven't fired it, but I now have a couple 33 round magazines, and can now say "yeah, of course, I've got a Glock".
I'm alot of things, but I'm not a liar. Wink
