I see a huge increase in donations in the NRA's future.

Admittedly, law school was quite a while ago, but I don't recall leadership changes or dissolution of an independent otherwise legal entity as a remedy under the law.

If the NRA violated laws, she can prosecute them and the criminals will go to jail. If they violated a civil statute, she can sue them and get a monetary judgment. She has no power to force via law a change of an employee. She's overplayed her hand and made her end game so obvious that she's going to fail before she even gets started.

Seeking to disband it, is a stretch, but folks have been complaining about the financial shenanigans for years.

If WLP and company end up in jail, so be it.

Yep. There's a long thread here about why the NRA needs to get rid of WLP.

NRA’s Wayne LaPierre Says He Is Being Extorted, Pressured to Resign
https://sigforum.com/eve/forums...35/m/7480090654/p/19

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

If this makes Wayne LaPierre go away, it will be fine with me. If that happens I'll start donating to the NRA again.

For god sake, just look into Letitia's background of bringing political based lawsuits. This woman is nothing but a liberal whore trying to draw attention to herself so she can up her standing in the Dem party. The NRA isn't perfect, but this bitch is simply picking the biggest liberal enemy out there and throwing crap at it.

I just can't believe there are members seemingly ok with this just because they don't like Wayne's leadership. My God.

The NRA was chartered in NYS on November 16, 1871.
As such, NYS's AG Office, in turn, has unambiguous jurisdiction over the Not-for-Profit NRA and its incorporation.

I have yet to read the state's pleadings to determine the heft of their legal arguments, though.

Once again we have a stark demonstration that the National Rifle Association is the most influential gun rights organization in the nation. Like them, don’t like them, they are the one people pay attention to. There may be other organizations that are better run or are “purer” in their stance(s) toward our rights, but the NRA gets listened to.

And for those who refuse to support its efforts, I hope you would like living with the gun laws of the UK, Canada, Australia, or worse, because that would be the best we could hope for. The NRA is the reason—the only reason—we still have the freedoms to own and bear the arms we do today.

“ Enlightenment is man’s emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one’s own understanding without another’s guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one’s own mind without another’s guidance.”

Undoubtedly will be contested, but they've played into their opponent's hand with all the financial shenanigans.

She can do this, because the NRA is chartered in New York as a not for profit. The Attorney General has jurisdiction over not for profit entities that misbehave. She has alleged that they have mis-spent their member's money and has sued them on that basis.

We'll see what happens.

Attacks like this (on the 1st Amendment rights of gunowners) demonstrate the effectiveness of the NRA's defense of our 2nd Amendment rights! What the DemoRATS fear, we need to support.

Yeah. The left was left disappointed. They were hoping for something else.
